nobody wants to talk about samurai it seems :(

why talk about Samurai when we can talk Shinkenger? :D but seriously, if I have cable, I would probably watch Samurai, and I'm looking for a non-muscle costume of the Red Ranger for my son, size medium, if any of you have a lead, please let me know!!

I'd be a lot more keen on actually sitting down and watching Samurai if it wasn't such a carbon-copy of Shinkenger.

Apparently the second half is supposed to be diverging from the Shinkenger story line. I keep my fingers crossed, because I really want this show to turn out good in the end :(

Before Samurai started, the actors were all asked, "How similar are your characters to the Shinkenger characters?"

They all stated, "Oh we're our own characters, for sure, we wear the same suits but we're not the same characters."

So far, they've been a literal English-speaking version of their Sentai counterparts both in suit and out of suit.

And considering the RPM team-up later on is rumored to not include the RPM Ranger actors at all, I have little faith that Samurai will be anything other than another Jonathon Tzachor nightmare. He's the worst thing to happen at Saban Brands.

Oh well, I still have hopes for Mega Force....

Honestly, I do think they'll be diverting a bit from Shinkenger with the usage of the Black Box. Last I heard they were going to do the Shogun Armor with that instead of the Giant Anime Trenchcoat mode.

I want to like Samurai but the acting is subpar compared to other things I watch it feels hard to get invested. I haven't watched Shinkenger yet so I'm not bothered by the same story since I haven't seen it before, I just want the characters to have more personality/be more likable.

I tried to like Samurai. I tried to like it so hard. In the end, I lost the battle to awful acting and a lack of diversity from Shinkenger.

I know he's the reason for the storytelling disaster; is he also behind the schedule & thinks its OK to go on hiatus for five months & not air the actual beginning of the series for even longer than that??

Because that's probably Nick's fault.

At SDCC they stated that they held back on Origins to air it later as a "Learn how the Power Rangers got their powers!" special. They actually re-shot a few scenes (apparently), but the acting is still atrocious in the two-parter. Since both Saban and Nick state that "The Team Unites" is episode 1, it would appear to be a Saban decision (aka Tzachor), and not a Nick decision.

I just hope the acting can improve a bit, i really do want to support power rangers along with super sentai

In fairness the acting has got better as its gone on, the only problem is that its gone from "god awful" to "sub-par".

Apart from Emily, who's ALWAYS been awful.

Emily has a bottom lip piercing that she takes out for the show. I noticed the hole and now I stare at it everytime she's on screen.

I think I briefly saw an episode of this and thought it was corny. Awesome designs, but other than that...

Which episode 1, the premiere episode or the "Secret Origins" that really should have been shown first?

I hate it when they air shows out of order, they've done that many times, and you can always tell the something wrong with the order of things :(

Shock horror, this week's episode was actually pretty amusing (in a good way for once). It says a lot about a show when one of your best episodes is a clip episode.

I caught up on Samurai finally. "The Ultimate Duel" was actually pretty good, felt very MMPR-ish to me. "Origins" 1 and 2 was horrible. Except for the mentions of Skull by Bulk. I miss Skull. So cool he's coming in for Season 2!
