Power Rangers Dino Thunder: Dx Parasaurzord Gallery
 

Tokunation continues our month-long Power Rangers Dino Thunder tribute with a gallery of the deluxe Parasaurolophus Zord!

The Parasaurzord is one of five auxiliary zords used in Dino Thunder that can be summoned by either the Black Ranger or the Triassic Ranger. This zord can replace the Tyranno Drill arm and allows the Thundersaurus Megazord to perform the Parasaur Final Cut finishing move. The Parasaurzord also forms the inner left leg of the Triceramax Megazord.

The deluxe figure is approximately 8 1/2 inches long and has a 'scissor' gimmick that runs on the motor in the Tyrannozord. The Parasaurzord was only available in a special two-pack with the dx Ankylozord.

I'm always amazed at how professional your pictures look. Those zords are definitely being put to better use with you than they were sitting on my shelf.

I never liked him. To be honest, I didn't. They're using this Dinosaur much better in Kyoryuger. The gallery itself is beautiful as always, I just dont like the greenguy very much :lol

I'm curious, Den. Where do you fall? Parasaur from Dino Thunder, or Parasagun from Kyoryuger?

I think I've been subconsciously judging the abaranger/DT auxiliary mechs as I've shot these galleries. When it comes to looks, I do prefer the Abaranger designs. Each one has it's own individual look, unlike the shared molds of kyoryuger. However, I think I like the gimmicks in the Kyoryuger limbs/mechs better.

Exactly. The Scissor Gimmick was just... Lame. But turning the tail into an automatic rifle just works.

I also don't like the way that the Abaranger aux mecha have to have the spinning tab lined up perfectly inside of the socket before they'll attach properly. Motorized gimmicks have never appealed to me very much.

The Abaranger mecha amount to dinosaurs with holes on their sides. You attach them and basically you just have a dinosaur on a robots shoulder. They don't even remotely look like arms to me. I vastly prefer the Kyoryuger stuff :p

Can I chime in and say that I hate both of them?
Trying to argue that the Abaranger mech is too simplistic against the Kyoryu stuff is one of the greatest examples of pot calling the kettle black.

In what way exactly? The battery gimmick at the very least makes the Kyoryu stuff more complex. Abaranger mechs just attach, at least the legs and arms get out of the way for the Kyoryuger mecha.

Simplistic? As Den-O Said for the Aba stuff all you did was attach them, that was about it. The Kyoryuger stuff you have to attach the beast battery, open stuff, move stuff, stuff happens.

To elaborate on what I think I was trying to say before:

The Abaranger mech have really strong dino forms but very weak arm modes. The Kyoryuger mech, however, have strong arm modes but lack a good dino mode, if only because they're all remolds of 1 of the 2 arm types.

Maybe when the 4th dino sentai comes along they'll have both a good dino and limb mode. :lol

I really don't feel that sliding the legs around makes the Kyoryu toys that much more complicated.
Being marginally more complex does not a stronger toy make.

Also, like I said, I hate both of them. I was just playing devil's advocate :lol

The Bakuryu look better than the Jyudenryu. But Kyoryujin looks better than AbarenOh. So they're about tied really.
And for what it's worth, scissor tails are pretty cool.

Green Parasaur? Somewhere a Shoji x Ian shippers is happy...
