Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Red Division Round 7
Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.
We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps99ccb19a.jpg The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords. Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded. Now that we’ve got that covered, Let’s Morphing! -+-+-+- Last round got pretty crazy and ended up with probably the closest victory so far. Let's see if we can't keep that momentum going as we pair off the current Red Ranger against the guy who just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right genetic structure. Wesley "Is it creepy that I'm 980 years older than my girlfriend?" Collins http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps72701110.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Wesley_Collins vs. Troy "Do you see any tears? Or, you know, any sign of a visible emotion?" Burrows http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps9b9b72a1.jpg http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Troy_Burrows Voting will last ~24 hours as I attempt to reassert the evening round ends format. Is it time for Time Force to send its first Ranger to victory? Will Troy go go mega-force his way into the next round? Which Ranger will reign supreme? I miss real Iron Chef! |
Let me think... Wes, there that wasn't so hard.
No offense to Troy but... Oh who am I kidding, Troy Burrows just sucks! At least Jaydan and Mack had something resembling a character. Troy is just, "Hi, I'm the new kid." |
Wes. Although, that may just be because I met his actor :lol.
But seriously Wes. |
Troy. Allow me to be blunt.. You'd need a personality before you could run a team. Gia is the Leader of your particular team, you're just the one wearing Red. Wes actually led his team, he did this thing people do.. called emote. He learned, he laughed, he cried. That's why robots like you can't be real people.
I voted Wes. |
Yeah, I'm not even going to pretend to consider the plank of wood we have now. Wes was a fantastic character who had a lot of development and a really compelling story. He was the core of Time Force in a lot of ways that other Reds tried to be and failed at. And in the end, he was willing to face down certain death going solo against Ransik and an entire army. Forget what I said about Andros a couple days ago - Wes is my favorite Red.
Also, he knew how to fucking do ADR worth a damn. Seriously, Troy. Edit: I'm also cutting the voting window down to 24 hours. These discussions rarely seem to last more than a day. |
Wes.
I don't think I need to explain why :lol |
I voted for Troy out of pity (and because I've never seen Wes in action).
|
Wes. Time Police are awesome and Troy has less of a character than a Putty Patroller.
|
Do I even need to vote for this one.....heck did there even need to be a poll made? lol

Wes.
Only seen him in the HOPR episode that Linkara did on Time Force, but he was way more badass than Troy could ever hope to be. |
This is really no contest. Wes is a serious candidate of mine for best Red Ranger ever. Wes went for rich, spoiled brat to an effective team leader with such strong leadership skills that he proved that the team needed him. Seriously, compare Wes in Forever Red and the Wild Force crossover special to Wes in episode 1 of Time Force. The boy has seriously grown into a fine Red and warrior.
Troy is just...not that interesting. Not to mention that at this stage, Troy has barely any fancy gizmos while Wes has the Battlizer and multiple weapons, so he doesn't even have that advantage that other bland Reds like Jayden had. |

Can we say...Time for, TIME FORCE!
|
Says a lot that all Troy has is a pity vote :lol

Besides being one of the bests Reds in the franchises history, Wes is easily one of the most fully developed characters in any series.
|
Man i hope Time Force makes to a full season dvd set one day soon.

Wes, and I have probably seen more of Megaforce than Time Force and I know Wes is a better character.

(And welcome to Tokunation, Kyoryu!) |
we just havent seen enough of troy to give him a fair chance although if we want to get technical we can assume troy will be able to ranger change into any red and theoretically be anyone. wes is still a better leader and im sure a more effective warrior.

Being technical assumes that Wes can ask Jen the prediction of how every fight goes and can alter events to make sure he always wins, for example. We can't give unconfirmed powers and abilities to the characters through technicalities, or else you'd have to apply the theoretical technicalities to the other character as well. Troy was doomed to fail by virtue of having so few of his powers available to him at this point. |

And Jen couldn't do that. She has knowledge only from her Timeline. But when Ransack escaped and travelled back in time with Jen and the other Time Force in pursuit, they altered that Timeline. Something not touched on in the show cause.. confusing. But. So the knowledge she has would only be of her future and not all possible futures. |
Quote:
It was never stated that the series used a split timeline, since that requires the use of alternate universes in it's own universe. |

Okay, let's put a fork in this, it's done. Wes handily defeats a plank of wood and moves on. Troy joins the losing Reds, his sole accomplishment being the ability to somehow still get more votes than Rocky.
