Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Red Semi-finals Round 3
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, so the last round was a slaughter (I honestly thought it would be closer, considering how well Hunter did in the quarter-finals). This time, though, I have no predictions over what will happen? Landslide, dead heat, no clue. Either way, it's time to find out who'll be going up against Carter and Wes for the first spot on the ultimate Power Rangers team.

This one will be close, I think, divided between the old schoolers and new schoolers.

As an old schooler, I have to go with Andros.

I'm gonna have to vote for Andros.
Nothing against Scott, I just feel Andros's arsenal is stronger.

It's tough.I'm an old schooler,but I like some of the new school as well.On one side is Andros.A great Red,no one knows how long he was actually a red since he was a red when the team met him.He obviously has a more futuristic and advanced arsenal.And he's had to make some really tough decisions,showing how great of a leader he can be.

I don't know much about Scott,but I do know he has military training.He also stopped the end of the world.I'd say that makes him pretty even with Andros.

I'll chose Scott,just to keep the race interesting.

This is a much closer battle, with both reds facing similar circumstances during their tenure. Scott is an excellent red, but I think Andros slightly has the edge in terms of skill and weaponry.

So, are we gonna pick the Red before we move on to Blue or pull a cliffhanger thing at the finals?

Scott is my favourite Red after Wes and Eric, so yeah, this one was pretty easy for me.

We'll run the finals this weekend, then I'll probably take a couple days off before we move on to the next pool, which will be Yellow (I'm going in reverse MMPR morphing order: Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink, Grack, Sixth).

Ah, alright.

And Yellow? Well, I already know the two I'm rooting for...

Yellow eh? So will both Trini and Aisha get representation as MMPR Yellow, since (off the top of my head) that's the only power shared by 2 people without one going on to have another?

Scott is the underdog here so I'll give my vote to him.

Andros. He killed Zordon. Scott didn't do anything that memorable

Scott ended a freaking Apocolypse! Andros made Zedd and Rita dance.

OK, I forgot about that, but he just seems less powerful to me. If they fought, I think Scott would lose.

Yep, every character gets a shot, even Aisha.

Mostly the MMPR B-class.

Andros Prevented an apocalypse.

Scott defeated one, much harder. Plus he had to deal with being a Red, yet not being the main character in his own show. And did it better than Rocky Dennis.

Scott also can't resurrect the dead by crying on them. That was just a stupid scene.

Scott wins my vote.

Both are good, but Scott had a harder enemy and was backed into a corner from day one. Andros, on the other hand, had enough free time to attend high school (which still makes zero sense). Like already said, Andros may have prevented an apocalypse (with a deus ex machina device, I might add), but Scott defeated an apocalypse (with no deus ex machina device).

PS For those unfamilier with the term, a deus ex machina device is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved. The Z-Wave is a deus ex machina device.

That bugged the hell out of me when I rewatched In Space recently.

I All ways hated that All of RPM Never made it to dvd. Let's hope one day soon it comes to a full season dvd.

A proper Power Ranger is a force of good. Though the A-Squad Rangers were initially on the side of good, they turned evil on their own accord, no bribery needed. As such, they are not proper Rangers.

I voted for Scott because, as I've said before,

A-Squad count more as villians, given what they did at the end of SPD. If we count villains in this I want some Psycho Rangers damn it.

Exactly. Scott actually fought an apocolypse. Andros spent near all that final episode on the Mothership trying to whine his way out of stopping it in the first place. And the whole "Zordon's Energy can destroy Evil" Thing always smacked me of being Super Hero Taisen Syndrome. "Well, we don't know how to end this thing. We wrote ourselves into the corner, and there's a new pizza place across the street. So someone throw out the first idea that comes to mind and we'll go with that!" "Andros breaks open Zordon's Glass and wipes away evil...?" "We'll go with that!"

But as for actual Rangers? No. Scott has this. He seems a more capable fighter, and didn't need a little girl to press his button to power up.

Just the majority of the Reds. You haven't missed any other color.

Andros was frightened of the third button on his Battlizer because he didn't know what it did, and thought the energy would destroy him. So while he was hiding from the bad guys, in the bushes like a wuss, a little girl reached out and press 03. Giving him his first battlizer morph.

A little blonde girl gave Andros abs. And if that doesn't say everything about him, I honestly don't know what does.

So Eric was already knocked out? Sad times.

Hunter was moved to Red because Switch didn't want NS to have 3 characters in the 6th Ranger runnings.

It happened. I know how it sounds, but thats what happened. A little girl pressed his wrist button and he grew abs.
