The Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA Facebook page has just been updated with new images of the SH Figuarts White Ranger. While this is exclusive to the Tamashii WebShop in Japan, it is also a shared exclusive with the USA, courtesy of Bluefin! More info:

I'm going to see how much it'll be to get the exclusive. Since I'm getting RyuuRanger, I'll probably want the Akiba stuff.

Damn. Now I'm conflicted in which one I'd want more- the easier to access, or the one with an extra chest piece. T_T

I'm guessing the Bluefin release might lack that, but that's fine, I think it's a cool piece but I'm only familiar with the White Ranger from how he was portrayed in Power Rangers. I'm sure he is probably cool in Akibaranger but I have yet to even start watching Akibaranger.

EDIT: If I get caught up with Akibranger and like what I see, I may end up ordering the TWE release. Who knows.

I'd be willing to bet that Ryuuranger and Kibaranger each come with half of the Dairan Bomber.

The Bluefin version was never really an option for me, but after seeing this its TWE all the way.

Those come with Akiba Blue and Yellow.
Ryu and Kibaranger only come with the alternate head and chest pieces.

Figuarts Green Ranger and White Ranger....this year kicks ass.

Is it just me or does his visor seem a tad too narrow? It looks a little off to me.

I'll just get Bluefin's release, as one little Akiba accessory is not going to be worth the hassle of a middle man and all that. Unless, I manage to snag him off Mandarake before he comes out in the US.

As I don't care about Akibaranger, I too will be going after the Bluefin release simply because it'll still probably be cheaper than using a middleman. Yet again though, I do agree that leaving out accessories is something they shouldn't be doing...

You do realise that doesn't work out cheaper in the UK right? Although I guess you have the luxury of not having to pay straight away.

If he only comes with the Akiba chest piece as a TWE then I don't have to worry about getting the Bluefin release and missing out on any larger additional accessories.

Buuuuut I'm just not sure if it's worth going the more expensive Japanese made to order route with this one. Just for one tiny chest piece that I probably won't even use all that often

Like wise, I'm not a super huge fan of MMPR white as I am with Green to pay extra..I'll probably be sticking with 1 myself.

I also don't give a toss about some gaudy chestpiece. I'm not sure what the significance is but it really doesn't match the aesthetic of the suit.

See, this annoys me because "could care less" is still wrong in the US. It's not how Americans say it, it's how Americans who don't know any better say it. They're the same people who say "for all intensive purposes" and write out "wah-la" instead of "voila."

I've seen this idea that British people think all Americans say it incorrectly a couple of times in the past couple of weeks. It's not true.

I'll gladly take a complete Japanese release over a neutered US one any day :D

I just have no interest in buying a figure that doesn't come with everything it's intended to for the same price. Regardless of how often or not I use said accessory it's still supposed to be there. I love Bluefin and what they do, I understand why they can't import items specific to Akibaranger, I get why they'd need to remove something like that from this release, but that doesn't change my feelings about this. If there's ever something that's supposed to come with the figure that the US release excludes then the JP release will trump it every time for me.

Incidentally I'd also planned on buying 2 Kibarangers anyway. One with the Akiba chest piece, one with the normal. Just like I ordered 2 Ryu Rangers to display in both configurations.

I can live without the A Kibaranger chest piece. While it was it was amusing, it wasn't as great at the Chinaman/China Red gag because that's a mythology gag. Heck, my justitifcation on getting the Ryuuranger Figuart is that he'll be China Red in my collection(untill I see Dairanger that is)

Well my guess is that like we've seen in the news recently, Saban is a bunch of assholes. Since Bluefin has to go through them to be able to bring them over. Gotta love them international licsensing issues.

You're right. The Japanese release is cheaper, 3675 yen Vs $44.99. At current exchange that's $38 vs $44.99, not taking shipping into account. But if I buy it it'll be lumped in with other stuff on a monthly order so it's kind of a wash anyway. Hence why I go with the more true of the 2 releases, the original.

Apparently, an anime story I frequent did get an AkibaRed in, though I Have no idea if Bluefin is behind this at all…it's something I'll have to ask them next time I drop in.

But they're coming out at the same time. They're both original.

Unless you're buying a prototype you don't get more original either way you go.

And the US one isn't "neutered." It has a completely superfluous piece of plastic omitted because it's small and pointless. If it was, like, one of the big weapons I'd agree, but missing a shitty little chestpiece that ahs nothing to do with the character isn't neutering. That's a word that should be reserved for actual changes to the toy, like if he had reduced paint apps or altered articulation.

The only thing I do agree with is the price difference. Should be switched. But you could argue the extra dollars are for ease of purchase vs. being an online exclusive.

Anyone can order from the internet. That doesn't change licensing agreements. Bluefin couldn't ship Akibaranger toys to America last year and they still can't this year (or Ryuranger).

Sure, but after shipping, middle man fees (if there is still a middle man here since ST can't do it anymore), and shipping to you, it ends up being about $20 more, maybe $25.

I'd rather buy from Amazon for $44 shipped than spend $65ish all just for a chest piece I will never use.

I definitely agree with you on the idea of a missing accessory, but since I bought Battle Hopper who turned out to be missing the hands for Black to ride him, a chest piece is not that big of a deal.

Baltan, Bluefin has not ruled RyuuRanger out yet. They said they are waiting for Saban to get back to them on him.

Of course, if I see Kiba on Mandarake before the Bluefin version comes out, I am buying him immediately.

It'd be really ironic if they released Kibaranger, who was in Power Rangers, but not Ryuranger, who wasn't. Wasn't the "not appearing in Power Rangers" angle what allowed them to bring over Red Hawk and Black Condor?

I'll probably just wait to see the US price before I decide where to get it.

The thing is, you are either getting one as is, or one with a cool piece related to Akibaranger. I have no idea what the chest piece and Ryuranger's alternate mask do on Akibaranger but the simple fact that Bandai even sculpted those pieces and included them; I would probably want them if I watched Akibaranger and ended up liking it. I have yet to watch.

What Den-O is getting at by neutering is simply that the US version will not come with everything the Japanese version has. Sure, everything but the alternate chestplate but still, it's leaving out something cool that isn't necessary but is still nice to have nonetheless, and I can understand that being a collector. So in that respect, yes it is neutered. This may bother some people, and to some, it might not.
