Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Yellow Division Quarter-Finals Round 3
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Well, the last round was interesting - our first tie. Hopefully this won't be a recurring problem. I'm sure this round will be a much less divisive battle after... all... nuts. :(

... Seriously?! Damn it, Switch! I don't know who the Hell to vote for! Summer and Lily were both truely Epic Yellows. But... if I absolutely have to choose one, and it looks like I do. Then I have to vote for Lily. She won me and my heart over in a way Summer never did.

Sadly, exactly how I feel too. Why couldn't this be the finals?

It was a really tough choice but I went with Summer, and that was some pretty bad wordplay lol.

And this is why video game tournaments will intentionally keep the "Big names" away from each other in most brackets until the end.

Character wise, they are literally the best two yellows as far as I'm concerned and I could never choose based on that. So I'm going to go with Lily purley because she has a stronger power set. Staff plus Elephant Mace plus Jungle Master mode just give her more raw power than anything Summer can do on her own.

Lily! I am putting my full support behind Lily to win the whole tournament. She is trained as an absurdly skilled martial artist. Weilds the phant mace! Has a selection of amazing zords! And a host of other incredible skills! Not only that but she managed to hang on a team of all guys! Even the spirit rangers where men!

Actually, Lily had control over the Elephant Spirit Ranger. Also, given the fact that they're spirits, I don't think they have sexes.

I went with Summer because I like RPM better than Jungle Fury. I'm hoping that this match ends in a tie, since I can deal with a Summer/Lily vs. Aisha/Trini/Every-other-Yellow-except-Chip match.

Hmm, this is a difficult one.

I really like Summer, but am not overly fond of Lily at all. That being said, I can't deny that Lily is one of the strongest yellows out there and I'm afraid that if she goes out this early Gia will end up winning the division. Which I don't want.

So the question is do I vote for my favourite or vote tactically? :lol

Ah yes good point I think I was thinking Master Phant had control over the elephant spirit ranger. That was silly of me.

Sorry Summer but Lily is my favourite yellow ever so I'm going with her. Lily is also the better Ranger imo as well.

I went with Lilly since I think she is stronger and she has a surfing Penguin as a zord. Nobody can beat that.

That would be a fair call if RPM didn't have exactly the same situation. Sure there were eventually 5 (and then 7), but Red/Blue/Yellow seemed to have been operating for an undisclosed amount of time before Dylan and Ziggy showed up.

Good point... you people are making it veeeery hard for my biased love of Lilly to tip the scales in her favor :lol I am gunna try to get her through this whole thing! If she manages this win against Summer then Kira and Gia are all that stand in her way!
