Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Blue Division Round 1
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Okay, so we now have our Red and Yellow Rangers sorted out and it's time to move on to the next color. This time we're moving to the cooler end of the spectrum as we decide who's going to be our ultimate Blue Ranger.

Up first we've got our first repeat performance as we bring back a character with a less than stellar showing in the Red division to see if he can do any better this time around. His opponent. I'm pretty sure he has one, but damned if I can remember anything about them right now...

Madison at least had... something of a character. Rocky was just... Not-Jason.

Madison gets this one shes better then rocky period.

I know everyone shits on Mystic Force, myself included in the past when a character important to me is against them in this, but I did honestly like the series and the cast and even weak characters like Madison, whose whole character arc was contrived and forced, is still better than Rocky. :lol

She flirted with Nick once... maybe twice.

I'm only about 95% sure she was on the show.

Madison didn't not do anything that much! Also, the only time I've seen Rocky in action was when he got injured and replaced by a 12-year-old.

Madison. The Mystic Powers are just more powerful than the Zeo Powers. And Madison had a personality beyond "PACHINKO!" And "What do you mean I'm not Red?! I'll Pout! Don't tempt me!".

Madison because the Mystic Force Powers seem more powerful than the Zeo ones.

I would like to point out that Madison is one of the only female blue Power Rangers... Just something to keep in mind.

Hell, she can actually turn INTO her zord, doesn't that pretty much trump everything?

I'll give Rocky a vote, I know i watched MF as a kid and ive tried rewatchin it, didnt get past the 3rd episode...... so yea.... :lol

Thats what's weird about Mystic Force. It's awesome the first time, but it's hard to watch a second.

No seriously, i rewatched Samurai, Super Samurai, Jungle Fury, Time Force, and RPM, halfway through Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, and MMPR S1, yet i could not and can not get through MF :lol thank god for netflix :lol

they really need subs of Sentai and Kamen Rider on there, thatd be Awesome!

I laugh at all the implications Madison was an actual character.

Madison is the hottest lady in Ranger history in my opinion. That does not mean she was a fantastic character or the most powerful. She just gets my vote because of that and my disdain for Rocky.

Definetly Madison.She not only had a love interest with Nick (and yes she did flirt with him Matrix,sure it wasn't alot but it wasn't "just standing by him"),but she was the level headed one of the group.And lets face it,thats what a good team needs.Don't believe me on that,look at the other members of MF.

Oh and fighting wise,she def wins.I know zords aren't involved,but if you can turn into the smallest zord in ranger history and hold your own,you have my vote.Oh,and magic of course.Rocky had what,Power Axes?

That argument held no weight with Chip in the Yellow Ranger Tournament.

The extent of flirtation was a few words at the beginning of the series and then "Come back for me" at the very end. It didn't exactly add to her character other than to attempt to make Nick look somehow better (because in the end that was all MF cared about).

As for the level headness, she didn't do anything. At all. She had one memorable episode dedicated to her supposedly overcoming her shyness and she spent most of that as a statue, then following that there wasn't any noticeable change in her because she was nothing more than a background character. Say what you want about Rocky but at least he had the capability to take charge when it was needed.

The rest of the Mystic Force team are equally awful for various different reasons. Apart from Vida who was actually a good character.

Thank you for pointing that out about the zords,always did get them mixed up.Sure she wasn't the most forward character,but look at Trini.She wasn't either but she made it to the semi's based on "She's from MMPR" alone.This contest went from "fighting ability and how they'd fit on a team" to "who do I remember and who is the hottest".

I'm glad to see near the end of the yellow tourney it got more about fighting and skills.Judging by personality,not popularity,is good too.Sure Madison didn't have a strong character by herself,but she did help make Vida's character that much better.I have nothing against Rocky,but if we are gonna judge by personality and fighting ability,who do you honestly think would do better?

Teams need people who can speak up against bad decisions too, not wallflowers that barely have a voice of their own.

Lol,I kid.Sure teams need people who can speak up against bad decisions,but they don't need that type for every color.I had the same argument you're giving me in the yellow tourney with Chip.Teams need that one member to be a goofball to help relieve stress of the situations they're in.They need a motivator to help the team push on.They need a second in command willing to take the lead.

But if we gave all the rangers in a team those same personality traits,they'd all be Reds.That's the point of having people with different personalities and different attitudes.We can't always pick "the most badass one who can take the lead".If we did,the team would do nothing but argue and be a giant power struggle.

These reasons are why I'm looking forward to Pink tourney.(I'd say the Grack one,but we all know Ziggy will be in the finals.Everyone loves him)

Oh I'm in complete agreement with you. But I don't feel Madison had any notable character traits. She's a completely vapid character that I feel gets more credit than she deserves because she was in a series with mostly loud and obnoxious characters.

I'd say Madison. She was a character. Rocky, was just a cardboard cutout.
