Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Blue Division Round 2
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Kai, because he has a robot monkey... Does TJ have a robot monkey? I didn't think so!

TJ.To have the gratitude to step down as a Red to be a Blue and be ok with it takes alot.He also,like Locke says,has more experience.But also like Locke said,this is a write off round.I dont think either of these guys will make it too far.

Kai has years of military training under his belt though.

So did Taylor,look where that got her.Like I said,I dont see either of these guys in the finals.Sure he has more military experience,but TJ has more experience being a Ranger.Last time I checked our military wasn't running around in spandex and answering to a floating head in a jar.lol

And sadly, as I'm not into dudes, I can't play out a wet t-shirt contest in my head and vote for the sexiest like I could during the write off rounds in the yellow category. :lol

She wasn't a Ranger until Lost Galaxy. Also depends who she runs against.

TJ. He was both a great red and blue ranger, and to be honest I don't really care for anyone on Lost Galaxy.

I loved TJ as blue and I love In Space. While I like Lost Galaxy I think TJ brings a lot to the table.

I have no idea who I want to win this one. Kai then.

I went with Kai because of the Lights of Orion, primarily. But TJ is a fine choice as well so either one gettig through is fine by me.

How exacrlty does TJ win this? Kai has the Lights of Orion. What does TJ have exactly?

Woah, wait...We aren't just picking based off who we like better?!

Mainly because

A) Kai was completely forgettable and I remember nothing about monkey zords and lights.

B) TJ has way more experience as a Ranger and has functioned in different positions on a team.

Implying the Lights of Orion were all that powerful to begin with?

You're being inconsistent, and that's not fair.

They weren't that powerful. But they were more powerful than anything TJ had in In Space.

But your first statement explicitly said
Implying that, regardless of who they're up against, even if they are the better ranger, you won't vote for an In Space character.

You're not voting for Kai because you think he's the better ranger. You're voting for him because you don't want an In Space character to win. It's unfair to try to enforce the standard that "The most powerful, not the most popular" character should win just to prevent a character you don't like to advance.

We're going to be having the "better weapons does not equal instant win" discussion until the very end of this tournament aren't we?

Probably not. Much like Yellow and Red, aside from the few occasions, I figure this'll be a legion of landslide victories.

The sad thing is, is despite Power Rangers being about the team, there are very few Rangers outside of the Red and Sixth that really stand out all that much.

I had like two Rangers I was invested in in the yellow category and one I really hated but as far as blue goes I can see myself mehing my way through it.

I want to see Justin win blue because that'd be hilarious.

Personally, I really think that Blue is the weakest division in this tournament. I can really only think of three, maybe four real stand-out Rangers in this color. At the same time, it easily has the highest proportion of bland and underutilized characters of all the colors.

Maybe you should keep the polls for this one open for 12 hours, then the finals for 24 hours? That way we can breeze through the boring matches and get to the fun ones quicker!

I disagree. I've missed matchups in previous tournaments on the boards because polls have only stayed open for so long. 24 hours is plenty to take people in different time zones and things into account.

But on these boring matches normally the first few hours have a lot of activity then there is nothing. And although odd votes come in here and there those votes have like no impact on the match at all. It's only really the important matches where you need longer time because there every vote counts because it's usually really tight.
