Kamen Rider Decade
 

So, I don't really get the Negative opinion of Decade. Did the second half of the show suck? Sure. Did the movies suck? What Rider-series movie doesn't?

I liked Decade, as it introduced me to our Masked Riders, even if they got little things "wrong", or "off". It is still a great way to introduce new people to the franchise.

This being said, what are your thoughts on the destroyer of worlds?

Personally, its a fun show that I really enjoyed when I wasn't thinking about it too hard.

What rider movie doesn't suck? Have you seen W A-Z?

I've already stated my disdain towards the series.

Which issue would you like for me to bring up first?

I suspect most of it is due to the disconnect between the AR Worlds and the series they're supposed to represent.

And maybe the lack of returning actors.

Anyway, I enjoyed Kamen Rider Decade. For me, a good TV series is one I can enjoy, and I really enjoyed Decade.

Let's start by ripping on Tsukasa.

Do you want a specific problem or just wanton insults towards him?

From an entertainment standpoint, I can see why Decade is enjoyable. The fights are flashy and bright, the old suits are still great, and the amnesia story is played to a nice angle.
But from a critical angle, it's flaws are far worse than "Little."

On the subject of Decade, I came across this summary of the differences in the manga version of All Riders recently and it sounds like it would be much better storywise.

That's fairly interesting.
I'm unsure if it'll make it so much better, but I wouldn't mind getting a chance to read a translated version of that manga, rather than just read changes from the movie.

It's pretty much the ending that kills Decade for a lot of people. I started getting into Rider just as Decade was winding down and I remember it being really, really popular at the time. It's just when the movies came out and answered absolutely nothing about the show's characters or plot that most people turned on it.

It's probably a case of the show switching production staff partway through. The original writer set up a lot of mysteries, but the new writer cared more about cramming in as much fanwank as possible instead of developing the actual original characters and story. That's why we started getting stuff like Dai Shocker and the Showa Riders instead of addressing Tsukasa's original world or what Narutaki's deal is. Sadly, that writer is still doing this shit with the Super Hero Taisen movies.

Matrix has nice things to say about Decade? *looks out window* well...the world seems normal...
