Best Power Rangers Season of the 1990s
 

Of the Power Rangers seasons in the 1990s, which is the best?

Quality-wise I'd probably say Power Rangers in Space.

But personally? Definitely Power Rangers Zeo. The first continuation of the Zordon-era using a completely new Sentai, the classic team with most the boring bits taken out (sorry Kimberly and Aisha fans, but they were never particularly my favourites), the return of the original red ranger and a brand new set of villains.

From what I've seen of Ohranger, its one of the few PR series I'd rate higher than the Sentai.

Original is still the best for me, Bad ass Green Ranger, the core team had dynamic, and Amy Jo Johnson :D

While Zeo probably had my favorite Zord line-up ever, I have to go with In Space, for reasons that anybody will understand if they've seen it. The story, the characters, the ending, Cassie and Ashley in those tight uniforms - everything about it was great.

Ohranger had problems. It was designed to be a really serious military-based Sentai, but not long after it started the saren gas subway attacks happened and the show was retooled to be much more lighthearted and silly.

So I hear, the change is understandable but it's a shame because it was originally one of the sentai series I was most interested in seeing more of :(

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. It took Power Rangers in Space and multiply it by awesome! I'm watching Gingaman right now, I love it just as much.

In Space for me. I think it was truly the time that Saban found its legs to make a truly dramatic Power Rangers season. Every future Power Rangers should learn from In Space. Plus, Astronema was an amazing villain, from her hammy evilness to her later cold transformation, Astronema was a treat to watch and possibly my favorite villain in Power Rangers.

Where's Light Speed Rescue?

I voted for Zeo. For a long time it was my favorite series. Great cast, great badguys, great Zords. All in all just a great series.

I would have a hard time picking a second place series. Those first three years were pretty amazing, and Lost Galaxy was the show that got me back into PR after lapsing during Turbo.

Season 2, White Ranger!

I picked Zeo. It was the original group, but matured. Plus it had the greatest Ranger of them all (the Gold Ranger). Suits were great, the US fight scenes were very well done, and the music remained top notch.

Plus it had one of the best intros ever.

I always liked her too, especially with red hair, and especially because there always seemed to be a relevant story ark behind all of that shit instead of just trying to conqour earth! Nothing against the other because I liked them too, but being a Trekkie really helped Space shine for me.

As somewhat to no surprise, In Space leads the poll, followed by MMPR season 2 and Zeo. I'm just surprised that MMPR season 1 has only one vote.

This is a hard decision for me. Season 2 gave me my favorite mecha for the series, it gaves us Lord Zedd, and some amazing monster designs (hence why DaiRanger is my favorite Sentai). On the other hand, Zedd got dumb when Rita came in, and Goldar did almost nothing the entire series. Plus, Serpenterra was awesome despite his lack of using Energizers.

Then you have Zeo, which I also enjoyed, thought it had a great finale.

However, I am probalby going to vote for In Space since it featured a full ongoing storyline, featured characters from every previous season, and concluded it all. Plus, Astronema was awesome and serious like Zedd used to be and Darkonda was pretty kick ass. Loved his whole concept. On the other hand, I hated the rangers outside of Andro. They were so annoying and I really wished that tank monster thing had run over Ashley because she was the worst of the bunch.

How could anyone not choose Power Rangers Zeo? It ended the Alien Rangers, which I didn't like to the point I stopped watching Power Rangers all together. They brought back Jason when they needed a new Gold Ranger. The Zords from Ohranger are just epic. And I even liked the comci relief of Zedd and Rita living like hillbillies while plotting thier revenge against Mondo.

In Space was just plain awesome though :P
(And I liked the Alien Ranger/Kakuranger suits and zords. It wasn't a good sub-series, but I watched it because I freaking loved the suits. To me, they were what I wished the Ninja powers for the normal rangers were)

They made the same mistake with Alien Rangers that they did with Dairanger. In season two they should've became DaiRanger. And in Season 3 they should've became Kakuranger, instead of the weird inbetween ninjaform.

It didn't help that Tommy looked like a Klansman in his ninja form. :lol
The Kakuranger suits definitely should have been used when they got the Ninja coins (And when they lost the connection to the dinosaur powers).
Story wise, it was slightly justified why they kept the Zyu suits in S2, since only the Zords were destroyed, not the powers.

Yea but Saban could've sold more toys of the new (Dairanger) suits. Saban and Bandai like making money. (IE: Instead of giving you effect parts with your Figuarts, they sell them to you. Then laugh)

Just wondering, of all the PR fans here, who started with MMPR season 1?

I did. Not exactly the first episode, but I remember watching a Day of the Dumpster re-run shortly after. Earliest memory of Power Rangers is the Sabertooth Tigerzord transforming.

I did. I remembered hearing the show's name in the lead-up to its debut and thinking it sounded really stupid. Then I watched the first episode and thought it was really bad and funny. At some point that morphed (pun totally intended) into a general enjoyment of the show.

I did, don't think I caught it from Day of the Dumpster, but I definitely started watching before Green with Evil came around.

MMPR Season 2 is what got me hooked. I would watch some episodes during season one but it wasn't till the 2nd season i started watching it regularly.
