Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Grack Division Semi-final Round 2
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman
Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson
Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Voting will last 24 hours-ish, regardless of how much of a landslide this is. I have my family reunion tomorrow.

Will Zack be able to win this fight without being able to borrow Tommy's shield? Will Tommy make Zack regret ever leaving that peace conference? Which Ranger will reign supreme?

I think Zack could take Tommy in a fight. They both have much experience in martial arts, but Zack took what he knew and developed his own style, while Tommy just used the same style.

Tommy may have had more experience as a Ranger, but I just think Zack is the better fighter and character.

Zack, but just because I don't want Tommy to win this division. :|

on the other hand if Tommy loses, he can always win the 6th ranger fights.

I honestly voted for Zack primarily because I've spent the whole division wanting to see the two MMPR Blacks go up against each other.

Will have to take my time to think about this vote.

Tommy because he is the best Ranger left. He was a great Black Ranger. Zack I know was first, but he was just there, there were better Black and Green Rangers.

I honestly think the Dino Thunder powers could destroy the Mighty Morphin especially Tommy's powers. So with Tommy's powers, skills and leadership I'm voting him.

Also getting Tommy out of the 6th Ranger contest is a plus too.

I want him to. I liked him in Dino Thunder.

I think it comes down to where you want him to slot. I know not everyone wants him on this team but I think he should be. I would love to see how the voting goes in 6th with him in there but aren't there better 6th choices than Zack or Adam? Maybe Tommy should go in this round.

Also, he would be back to wearing green if he made the team this way. Just sayin'.

Man...that bolded statement single handily stopped me from voting for Zack and now I am thinking about it very VERY hard

Yeah, I can't make up my mind. At first I was against Tommy getting out of the first round in this division because to me he will always be the Green Ranger. I know for some people it's White or Zeo but few think of him as Dino Thunder Black first. At least, few who grew up with MMPR. the 8 year old in my is saying "Green Ranger Tommy owns everything" but the more I think about the more I think the team would work better with someone else 6th. I think Bridge is the only one that would have been a better fit for this team than Tommy. Plus Dino Thunder Tommy would rock these guys in a fight.

A Tommy was bound to make this team at some point. And as much as I love Zack ( who was my original favorite , until Tommy showed up ) Tommy looks good in Green.

I'm curious to see who takes the 6th round with Tommy disqualified.

Time to attempt to give my argument on why Tommy shouldn't win the grack division (which sadly probably won't make much difference now, but I hope at least someone will read it :lol)

Dino Thunder Tommy has the experience certainly, but the character is still more suited to the sixth position. Why? Well, for starters Dino Thunder Tommy was always a MENTOR first and foremost. He took the Dino Thunder powers out of necessity rather than choice, and while he had several epic moments was more of a backup character than a fully fledged member of the core team. I personally feel making a character like that a part of the core 5 will basically break up the dynamic somewhat.

Meanwhile, the sixth has he ability to be an all rounder. He can work as a solo player, as an extension of the team (which can extend to a leadership role in some situations) and as a mentor if required. While there will be plenty of competition in the sixth division, Tommy is much more suited to that.

So yeah Zack should be the winner here without a doubt. I think it would be a close fight regardless.

Two characters I really like. But honestly in terms of specifically Black, that was 'Zack's colour' whereas to Tommy it was just his retirement colour, so I guess wearing the Grack suit really should be Zack's honour not Tommy's, who should take sixth if Eric fails.

I like Tommy being Green and it works color wise. I can't see him as silver.

Agreed. Plus, I want to see MMPR vs MMPR as a finale.

At this point all those left were on MMPR although Adam is representing Zeo so depending on which way you look at it you are either guaranteed to get what you want or it's already impossible.

Tommy.He's borderline sixth,he has a bunch of experience,he's proven he could already beat Zack as the Green ranger when he was evil,he can cloak,he gave the dino thunder rangers their powers so without him there would be no Kira,and he can use a staff to surf a Megazord.

I know alot want him as sixth,and I can see why,the nostalgia factor.And lets face it,thats all it is.He was weaker as the green ranger.His biggest power was that he could grow,and that was only when he was evil.He was a little stronger when he was white,but when you talk to a sword for advice,you just seem a little crazy to me.The rest of the time he was red,so thats a moot point

And yeah,he acted as a mentor while he was dino thunder black.Your point being? A ranger can't be a mentor and one of the five colors? Funny cause thats pretty mush how all of Samurai/Shinkenger was.

Zack put up a good fight, but at the end of the day it's hard to beat the most legendary Ranger of all time.

I feel the 6th was the only division that had strong enough characters for Tommy to get eliminated round 1...
