Ultimate Ranger Team Tournament - Sixth Division Round 4
 

Let’s play a game: The Gokaiger adaptation isn’t season two of Megaforce, it’s a brand new series with a brand old cast. The six Rangers are all returning characters from previous Ranger teams, gathered together to face off against the most powerful evil ever. But which six Rangers? That’s where this tournament comes in.

We’re going to cast this team with the very best Red Ranger, very best Pink Ranger, very best Blue Ranger, very best Yellow Ranger, very best Grack/Bleen Ranger, and very best Sixth Ranger.

The current team consists of:

Red Ranger: Carter Grayson
Yellow Ranger: Lily Chilman
Blue Ranger: TJ Johnson
Pink Ranger: Jen Scotts
Green Ranger: Adam Park

The rules are simple: the Rangers of each color fight it out to see which one stands at the top of their personal section of the rainbow. The winners will be determined by popular vote, feel encouraged to explain your choices to help sway the undecided. Fights are all-out brawls – any power-up or weapon is permitted, short of the Zords.

Battles are decided by random selection and each character is represented for each of their colors (Rocky and TJ are in both Red and Blue, Tommy is in Red and Sixth, etc.). Rangers with multiple powers in the same color will be using the ones which are most unique to them (Adam is Zeo Green, Cassie is Space Pink, etc. – yes, this kinda shafts the Turbo Rangers, I know – all three Turbo fans are free to register their complaints). All major teams are represented, MMPR through Megaforce. Evil Rangers like the Psychos and A-Squad - as well as one-shot Rangers like Cat or SPD Red Bridge - are excluded.

Alien Rangers haven't had a great run in this tournament so far, with only Andros and Karone making any kind of lasting impact. Let's see if either of these extraterrestrial Rangers can make a better showing.

Doggie, what did the guy named after an elemnt do again? Besides have a metal dtector as a weapon :p

Of couse Doggie is better in every way :lol

Anubis. He wasn't in Operation Overdrive. But it's more than that. He single handily took down one hundred enemies to save Kat's life, he has years upon years of service and experience to fall back on. He's by far the strongest.

I kind of wish Daggeron would have won so we could have had the possibility of a John Tui Vs. John Tui round (he played both Cruger and Daggeron).

I'm going with Shadow Ranger on this one. Cruger is a commander of an intergalactic police force whereas I can't remember a darn thing that Tyzonn did.

Giving it to Doggie. Head of SPD, a skilled fighter with years of experience, and D-Sword Vega. He can handle a metal detector (Though, can't Ty turn into mercury or something? Didn't care enough about OO)

i give it to tyzonn. our ultimate team needs an alien who can realistically fit in his helmet.

Doggie because he's badass and awesome and my favorite part of SPD.

I'm actually having a hard time with this one. Doggie is a skilled combatant and a powerful warrior, but Tyzonn is also a skilled and powerful warrior. Doggie's a trained policeman, as well as the head of his sector, but Tyzonn is a rescue worker, much like Carter. Doggie can take out 100 enemies by himself, but Tyzonn can turn into mercury.

This is a difficult decision. I like both Rangers, but I don't really like one over the other.

Eh, I'll just go with the underdog... that doesn't tell anyone who I'm voting for, does it?

is tyzonn really more popular than Rocky?

Will Aston is more popular than Rocky the Red Ranger.

I'm voting Kruger, because his '100' design is something I like and he wasn't in Operation Overdrive.

No one voted for him legitimately. He only received pity votes.

Well since this round is pretty much won let me ask one question... How the hell does Cruger's nose fit inside his helmet?

I'm assuming his faceplate is actually a portal into subspace, where it chills out with Optimus Prime's trailer.

What happens to Optimus Prime's Trailer when he transforms?
Where do all of Gurren Lagann's drills come from in the Giga Drill Break?
Why do classic cartoon characters pull giant mallets out of thin air and not die in ensuing chase scenes?
How does Deadpool not get into a fistfight with his writers and artists during his non-sequitur shenanigans?

*They come from subspace.
*Cartoon characters exist in a reality where that is possible.
*Deadpool is not smart enough to figure out that he can do that.

Cruger for sure.After not fighting for how long,his first fight back and he destroys 100 enemies,he's in charge of not just a and b squad,but an entire branch of SPD<making him unbeatable for the mentor role,and he has a deep backstory where he lost his family and vows to never let it happen again.

Tyzonn hates cats.

Yeah, there's no way this fight isn't Cruger's.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of Doggie, but I've never seen OO. But I'm assuming that with how badass the Shadow Ranger is, he'd come out on top anyway so Doggie it is.

he defeated 100 minion enemies...how is that a great accomplishment

100 is still a large number.
Hey, did you know, Wes and Eric both got wrecked by a large number of minion enemies in Time Force.

Just because you can't comprehend 5 rangers fighting 20 mooks total is different than 1 fighting 100 doesn't mean it's not a substantial difference.

Because there is no classification. It's less "6th Ranger" and more "Additional Ranger."

This isn't Gokaiger.

And from a literal point, SPD Shadow appeared before Omega, both in civilian form (Doggie appeared in episode 1, Sam in episode 7) and morphed (Shadow in episode 11, Omega in episode 21).

SPD Shadow was the 6th SPD ranger for 10 episodes before Omega.

Never saw OO, so I'll go with the only thing I liked about SPD, Doggie Cruger.

Tyzonn beat up cats,how is that a great accomplishment? We're judging two characters here,not just one. Which means you either dont like Cruger for some personal reason or you like Tyzonn for a personal reason.

Compared to each other,personal or not,Cruger is better

I feel like you should put 'This is not Gokaiger' in huge fucking letters in the first post because apparently Ultimate Ranger battle, with the Power Rangers, in the American Toku forum is not enough of a clue that this isn't a super sentai discussion.

I had a disclaimer in the round 1 post. I may bring it back in future rounds where I suspect this may be an issue. I really don't want to see these threads derail like so many of the Red ones did arguing over Eric and Hunter.

I now simply want Kruger to win the whole damn thing. Just to see a cut and pasted Kruger head on a Gokai Silver body.

Kruger because he's a commander. Though I class Omega as SPD's sixth.

What logic XD. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers proved that creepy old guy in a tube can successfully kidnap five kids, tell them that they are superheroes, and shove them into harms way. Because... logic

And so, by a very narrow margin - geologically speaking - Anubis moves on to the next round.
