Wizard Episode 42: "The Ringed Novelist" Discussion
Kizaki and Yuzuru have both gone missing and the White Wizard's the prime suspect!
Mayu offers to help Beast, but does she know more than what she's letting on or is she in the dark as much as our heroes? A young novelist named Masafumi is looking for a girl that helped him overcome writer's block ten years ago. Will he find her or will Sphinx bring him to despair? What does Gremlin know about all of this? What does he gain from all of this madness?!? Discuss the MAGIC here! |
It was Very Good

Great to see the Drago Timer again and the various Dragon Forms, and how about that--the Gate of the fortnight actually has something to do with the main plot.

D'oh! I made a boo-boo when I set this topic up. The episode's real title is The Ringed Novelist. The White Wizard's Secret is the title of the next one. My mistake.
|
I really want to see Rinko-chan do actual police work. That might be a pipe dream, though. Hopefully next episode will develop Koyomi's story a little more. I'm excited!

Well the plot's certainly humming along nicely at this point. Given Gremlin's reactions during the episode, it's becoming pretty plain that White Wizard either is or is controlling Wiseman. I think they're the same person, and White Wizard's using a ring to disguise himself. I suspect that Gremlin's leading Nitou, Mayu and Rinko to Wiseman's lair, where all will be revealed.
Six episodes left: one more to finish this arc, another two episode arc after this, then the final three episodes. Medusa's reaction to the reveal that she's been a dupe will be interesting. And exactly what does Gremlin really want out of all this? |

Overall I thought that episode was just 'meh', it wasn't really bad in any specific sense but after last weeks episode did so much and did so much so well, it was disappointing for it to then be followed by a by the numbers Wizard episode.

The Riddler :lol

Anyway, it was an okay episode. After everything that went down last week, this episode was just "Okay." When Koyumi got the random scenes to herself, and we saw a flashback to a little girl with long black hair, I was chanting to myself "Please don't let it be Koyumi. Please don't let it be Koyumi." I was hoping it'd be Mayu or Misa, but oh well. Perhaps Koyumi will get some sort of development. The last time she got any character development was, like, back in episode 6 or something when she yelled at a gate to accept that things change. This episode wasn't bad, I could sit through it and enjoy it (The gate this week was kind of a dick, but he wasn't being a brainless asshole all the time). |

BAD MATRIX! HOW DARE YOU AGREE WITH HIM?! *Slaps self again* Don't you dare do it again next week. |

Hey look, its the Dora Sphinx Phantom.
This episode had a promising start, but then fell into the same subpar mediocrity I've come to expect of Wizard. Which is disappointing after last week. Hopefully whatever Gremlin is up to will make up for it. |

I found myself loving Rinko with each episode. Even though both Koyomi and Mayu are gorgeous but there is just something about Rinko that makes me wish I was Haruto so I can hit on her. Anyways...
Another terrific episode that furthers the plot even more. It's pretty blatantly obvious that Koyomi was the object of that novelist affection, and the preview shows that she had no idea who he is. Could it lead to his despair next week? I guess we'll have to wait and see. |
Man, Good Drama's footage is all jacked up, the bottom section where the subs are is completely blacked out and you can't maximize the screen.
|
Can't. Wait. For. This. Show. To. Be. Over.
I have invested so much time in interest in this show, and it kills me... because it is interesting on paper... but, the execution is god awful. Here is praying for the next rider to be another OOO with nothing but success. Praaaaaaaaying. Vamola Muchooooo |

Anyway, this episode rocked. It was a good starter. |

And I found OOO to be the strongest of the post-Decade series, but it's all personal opinion (Wizard is definitely the weakest, with one good character (Who that character is, you decide), horrible pacing, lackluster story, and lack of direction). |

Then again, I don't think they'd fit very well in Wizard's milieu. |
I think they could easily have Foundation X be after the Philosopher's Stone.
And you say you don't like them because they are pretty much just Shocker, but that is why I like them. It shows that there is more villains in the world besides just the ones you see on screen. Maybe they should do a Legendary Seven Riders movie if nothing else, having them combat Foundation X since they do seem to also be in that universe. It is interesting to see a universe where the first 7 riders and W-Wizard all co-exist (and I'm sure Gaimi will as well), so I want them to do more with that. |
