I can already tell the helmet will look just as sloppy as the male one.

Does it really matter to you? There's gonna be a male one. I don't get the view of you guys on the anti-female side. If you don't want it, don't buy it. The male one also exists.

I am honestly suprised. I think its stupid, TigerRanger was male in all the Season One footage and Season One is what they're mostly catering to, but whatever. More power to the MMPR fans, I guess. I'm happy with my male TigerRanger.

For the record, I probably won't get either. Limiting myself on this.

But if you're allowed to like it, am I not allowed to find it a little ridiculous? Opinions go both ways. I'm not at all mad at those happy for it. And frankly you shouldn't be mad at those with a different opinion than yours. Those who dislike it have seemed to me to be MUCH more civil than those of you in the other camp.

The difference is that I never wanted the male one to not exist. I simply wanted both and placed an emphasis on having the female one.

The important thing is we're getting a female body so now everyone can stop asking about it. I'm glad we're getting a female body since Yellow MMPR was mostly shown as female in PR.

Okay, I'll concede I used a poor choice of words there. I'll redact that so I'm not shoving opinion into a news announcement. I just find it silly that they'd make something with what's likely smaller appeal, since only one market will care.

You know, even though I'm getting the Zyurangers, I might be persuaded to double up if they also released a Dragon Ranger with his cheap floppy shield to go with the female Tiger Ranger, for MMPR accuracy.

I agree, it seems like a total waste of money. I doubt any MMPR would not get a male Tiger Ranger, considering she DID look male in morphed footage for the most fondly remembered season, but, assuming this does happen, no Zyuranger fan will get the imported version. Seems like that doing this will lose them sales more then anything.

Hey now, I'm interested in getting both. Not because of MMPR, but so that my Gokai Yellow has a proper Zyuranger stand-in.

the bigger question I think is, which one of them is being released in the US? Male or Female or both?

ok i posting this here ok for people that think the US MMPR Female Yellow will come with a skit is Even more less show accurate while rewatching all the Season of MMPr with there own Footage Yellow still did not have a skit. so they will do a Deka ranger on us wher it be a female build and skirtless so people hope for skirts will still be un happy cause it be like Deka girls.

How is it narrow minded for people to want a female version IN ADDITION to a male version? I mean, to me it seems like only wanting it one way while ignoring the fact that the suit was used prodominently on a female in america is narrow-minded, since you're refusing to acknowledge things were done differently outside your realm of interest.

Because the "powerful rangers" parts appeal to everyone.

Also, MMPR lasted three seasons, one and a half of which featured the yellow suit on a girl's body. Hardly a small appeal. Plus, there's plenty of Japanese fans that like MMPR just like American fans like Zyuranger. And in all honestly it seems like, with America's population being as big as it is and Power Rangers being as big as it is, there's more of a market for a girl MMPR yellow than Tiger Ranger.

Afterall, one of the reasons Zyuranger Figuarts are being done is likely because of the American fanbase on MMPR. What significance does Zyuranger have in Japan? Is it the first series? The best? Longest running? What elevates it beyond, say, Jetman or (forgive my spelling) Kakuranger, Caranger or whatever series the White Ranger costume is from? Hell, they're doing ALL the Zyurangers AND Kibaranger at the same time, the significance of which exlusively lies in fans of MMPR.

But while we're discussing this let me inform you about the Zyuranger was REVOLUTIONARY for sentai. It followed the 15th anniversary series Jetman, they wanted to move in a different direction and so they elevated monster designs, cleaned house and went with entirely new design teams and writers. The ranger suits were incredibly original. The mecha evolved from flat painted cardboard into truly detailed designs. Zyuranger was HUGE at the time of it's airing and is still huge with the Japanese fan base. There was a letter writing campaign by child and adult fans to bring Burai back from the dead that was so overwhelming they brought him back as a ghost for an episode! I don't want anyone to think for a second the US was the only driving factor.

Same thing with Kiba Ranger. He's being produced in conjunction with Ryu Ranger as a part of the Akibaranger marketing machine. Because they've begun releasing Dairangers in Japan. Ryu Ranger first, Kiba second. There is no "exclusive significance" here when it comes to him.

But still, with the 20th Anniversary, "powerful rangers" parts, I can't help but feel that it's not just about Zyuranger, which was my point in the end. I mean hell, the simple fact that a female yellow is being made pretty much cements that it's just as much a dedicated effort to appeal to American audiences. This is working out better for Americans than Japanese fans, to the point where it's obviously intentional.

Still oftly coincidental that he's almost up right behind the MMPRs in release.

Then again that's probably the entire point. These characters all have some significance in Japan, but stack up perfectly for American audiences (more perfect than if they were just celebrating these series by themselves) as well. It's two birds one stone. All on the year celebrating PR's 20th. At the very least the level of insult that ahs been present towards American fans today is wholey uncalled for.

I still think it's far more than coincidental that the Zyu Figuarts release just happen to coincide with PR's 20th anniversary. :p

Anyway, this makes me want to watch Jetman and Zyuranger, just to see how they stepped things up in terms of design (While I could just look at pictures of the monsters, that takes the fun out of it) and writing.

I've always wanted to watch Zyuranger, just to see how things were done.

But I feel like I'd have to play the MMPR soundtrack behind it to lessen the culture shock.

I haven't watched all of Zyuranger, but its fun to see the extra bits of fight footage we didn't get. And I actually think the score for it is pretty awesome. I love the Daizyujin theme.

Insult? Trust me that's been a 2-way street today. I've been called an "elitist" for not wanting to buy a female version of a figure that I'm buying the male version of merely because I like Zyuranger more :lol

And I'm not trying to say it's ONE market over another in all of this, both markets make up the demand here. Trying to say one over the other is more important is just a circular discussion. It's huge here, it's huge there too. The Zyurangers were going to be released via Akibaranger anyway, Bandai sells more toys because it's also an anniversary in the US, win win. Kiba Ranger is the same thing except that he's also being produced to go along with a Dairanger that's coming out before him. Just like with other sentai SHF's, they release 1 or 2 members, gauge reaction, then make more of that team based on sales. hence Gosei Knights' lonliness :( These are great coincidences that Bandai is profiting from that benefit and cater to both markets.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I find it it insulting when people think the US market is the only deciding factor here. We most certainly aren't. There's just as big a fanbase over there as there is here for a lot of these shows. Though things like the DBZ figuarts can prove how much more in demand some things can be in this market.

It's a great show, you should really check it out. Again they completely retooled everything for that show and went off brilliantly.

To be honest, it's less US fans feeling that they're the deciding factor, and more of an opportunity to finally say "Take That!" to the naysayers who were pretty cockily stating that the Western audience had no influence whatsoever over the past few months.

Well, I wasn't trying to say it was only the US market, just say that, I mean, come on you can tell a good chunk of this is geared towards American fans, and people are making it out like it's some afront. But we're getting BOTH versions, in seemingly equal quantities.

I am a HUGE PR fan for whatever reason PR>SS imo. With that said I was perfectly happy with male yellow that was trini to me when I first saw it but the announcement of the Female yellow was just a way for us PR fans to look at those elitist who directly said our opinion didn't matter and tell them to suck it

guarantee this thing is a massive exclusive (or atleast very limited in terms of numbers), though I gotta admit im extremely surprised by this but regardless its only Gokaiger accurate and not MMPR or Zyuranger accurate.

Luka wore a skirt when she was Tiger Ranger, so it's not Gokaiger accurate.

It's accurate to Season 2/3 Yellow Ranger, because the "Zyu2" footage was filmed in Japan exclusively for MMPR.

Actually, Yellow's still male in the Zyu2 footage! She's a girl only in American filmed footage, which was most of Season 2 and all of 3.

And she still not have skirt

I didn't know that! I assumed Zyu2 covered all of morphed footage in season 2/3.

I'm happy for the MMPR fans that don't like the male body, but to me Tiger Ranger looks wrong with a female body, I'm sticking with the JP release, definitely.
