How would you rewrite Power Rangers from Disney era? How would you rewrite Power Rangers from Disney era to Saban style? Ninja Storm-RPM? I didn't like the music nor some of the stories didn't match the sentai versions? Like for Jungle Fury for example: - Beast War? Pathetic! - Jarrod possessed by Dai Shi? Don't like it. - The theme for the gekijyuken beast arts vs rinjyuken akugata, should represent the light vs the dark. The rinjyuken should be the dark side like the Sith. Start with Jungle Fury to see how that would be fixed. |
|
There was nothing wrong with alot of the Disney series'. Jungle Fury was near perfect, Mystic Force I wouldn't change one detail, Dino Thunder was great, and SPD couldn't have been better. And RPM was an amazing season. What hurt it was the fact Disney gave up and it was on at an impossible timeslot. That just leaves two I would change. Ninja Storm and Operation Overdrive. The name I'd leave alone. Ninja Storm works, and the theme was good to. The actors I'd keep, even turning their mentor into a guinea pig. I like guinea pigs. What I would change is some of the story elements. For one thing you'd never see Lothar's annoying neices or Cyber-Cam. That I promise you. Cam would still become green and in the same way, because that story arch I actually enjoyed from start to finish. One thing I could change is the Thunder Rangers. I'd play them up more as rivals. Working together only when it suited. They wouldn't be evil, they just wouldn't care. I'd also play up more with the whole rival school angle to. That wasn't used near as much as it could've been. Operation Overdrive though needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Starting with the cast. Yellow can stay, but the rest of them (Especially Black) can go find work elsewhere. Power Rangers: Relic Hunter. It fits what the storyline was much more than Operation Overdrive. Overdrive might've worked for a season like Turbo, or RPM, but not Boukenger. I'd keep the villians the way they were, but I'd back them up to only two. Ice Man and Fire Dude. Yes, I forgot their names. Sue me :lol They would still be brothers and still be after the Great Treasure. But they'd also still be rivals until the very end. This is how I see it playing out. Millions of Years ago a Great Knight, Sentinal Knight, created a Relic with the power to shape Dreams. Knowing that the power could be used for terrible purposes he creafted himself armor granting him eternal life to protect the Relic. But Evil found the Relic. Frostion and his brother Infernion found the Planet where the Relic was being guarded. Knowing he could not beat them both, Sentinel Knight froze himself and the Relic in stone as the planet was destroyed around them. Hurtling them through space.. The Sentinel and his Relic have slept through the Eons upon this new Planet of Earth. And are now Museam Pieces. But Frostion and Infernion have never given up their search. Sensing them approaching, Sentinal Knight forces himself awake from his slumber. But the Eons have drained his energy leaving him stuck within the shape of a sword.. A sword found by Museam researcher Trent. Trent grasps the sword, trying to determine the meaning of the symbols on the side when a great light over comes him.. And he finds himself face to face with Sentinel Knight. SK bestows upon him the power of the Relic Hunter. Tasking him with finding others to help protect the Relic and the others blown through space when his planet detonated, before Frostion and Infernion can use them for great evil. Using the Sword as a power source Trent calls upon four others with brave hearts, turning simple machines into their Relic Drivers. Using their powers combined to form the powerful Relic Megazords and defeat evil as the Power Rangers Relic Hunters! |

Operation Overdrive, would've been better if Will remembers Kamdor the one responsible for what happened to his parents. A thief vs a thief. |

After learning what a horrible human being his actor is? He can stay the hell away from anything related to anything ever again. Just go and disappear. |

There are only two seasons I enjoyed that I would have liked to have seen drastically different directions for. Shows like SPD were too broken to really be fixed and Mystic Force through to RPM are all fine as they are for me. Ninja Storm I'd have the story focus around the two rival schools, and have way less comedy. The unique wackiness of Power Rangers is part of what separates it from Sentai but a lot of Ninja Storm felt wasted when it was all played for jokes. Dino Thunder. More of that first half, please! I really liked the characters, their dynamics and the story structure of the first half of that show but then everything interesting set up in the first half was dropped out of the show so we could concentrate on Cassidy and Devon. Fuck those guys! |
|
They should change Sam from SPD. Give him a human form instead of an energy ball. He's gotta be permanent sixth ranger for a change besides Shadow/Cruger. |
|
I'd take SPD and leave it largely the same, but replace Syd with Umeko from Dekaranger. :thumb: |

The Sith were created out of hatred and anger. Rio revived Rinjuken, for all intents and purposes, out of fear. He craved power not because of some pissy argument, but so that he could never suffer again. Maku and the entire cause of the rebellion was more a black-white situation, I'll give you that, but that wasn't the driving force of the series. Oh, and I'd change Time Force slightly to make Eric less angry. While his initial resentment of Wes was fine, he seemed like an ass to the Time Rangers, too (Who were poor and living in a clock tower doing odd jobs). |
|
If I changed Time Force there wouldn't a Quantam Ranger at all. So.. >_> |

Let's see: Ninja Storm: No Cyber-Cam, Make Lothor a threat, Keep the Thunder Rangers for later in the series and Include a better ending that throwing Lothor into an abyss. Dino Thunder: Change the ending into them sacrificing the zords to destroy Mezogog- taking out the creep with the dinosaurs he wanted to save. SPD: Give Sam a character, and explain how Cruger's head fitted in his suit. And spread more references to the Magnificence throughout. Mystic Force: Change the Theme Song, and lower Nick's importance Operation Overdrive: Get rid of Norg, the Fearcats, Miratrix and Kamdor; change all the tangers but Yellow and Pink; THEME SONG AGAIN; get rid of the robot sub-plot that made no sense when you remember episode 1. Jungle Fury: Change the final battle to something more awesome than them standing there posing. RPM: Theme song. That is all. |

What if in Jungle Fury, Jarrod was banished for arrogance and treating the apprentices badly? Jarrod eventually hears Dai Shi's voice calling to him. Offering him power and to be Dai Shi's apprentice. However, Jarrod was once condition for Dai Shi, that he'll release if he helps him eliminate Master Mao. Jarrod: I already found a new... master! Dai Shi: Free me! And I shall make you... MY apprentice. |

Zeltrax is freed by Mesagog from being turned to stone and they summon forth Tyrannodrones and Triptoids to help lead the charge on this world and create a planet where Mesagog is the supreme ruler and everything is remade in his image. Later on, after an arc about an attack on another Temple in Antarctica and the plundering of the fifth and most powerful Gem, Trent, an intern at the dig site Tommy was at during the beginning of the season, gets kidnapped by Tryannodrones and is forced to wield the Drago Morpher and destroy the Rangers at their own game. He ends up brainwashed and forced to fight until he is freed by the Rangers obtaining an legendary weapon from Dino World: the Triassic Sheild. Mesagog then clones the White Drago Ranger, programming his mind to be evil and nothing but, and has him finish the job of destroying the Rangers. That fails when the clone begins questioning his existance and decides to destroy the White Ranger and eventually usurp Mesagog's role as supreme ruler of Earth only to finally be destroyed in the battle with Trent. Mesagog then declares an all out assault on the world and the Rangers most stop him from altering the planet's core and rest aping the world. Mesagog assumes a monster form and begins laying waste to the city and is only destroys when the Zords sacrifice themselves to save mankind. Quote:

What about Elsa? It would be nice for Tommy to have a love-life again. Perhaps Tommy's actor's wife can play her. |

Alright- Ninja Storm- Rivalry of schools more focused, have Cam's arc be more or less what brings the team together. Dino Thunder- Have Kira sing more. Release the dang song she sang at the end on itunes or something. SPD- Not much to change, oh yea, Sam. Into an actual ranger. Mystic Force- Make it less- "The Nick Show, with some other guys" Operation Overdrive- The whole thing, maybe keep the rich guy finds a group to get the jewels, get rid of that stupid pinochio crap and give Mack a Mom or somethin. Oh yea and keep whats his face away from the thing as far as possible. Jungle Fury- Not. A. Damn. Thing. Nothin is wrong with this series at all. RPM- Change Gem and Gemma to be less "BOOM", change the theme to that demo that floats around youtube. I have to ask this though, why do all these "What would you change?" Why are they almost always Disney? How about, What would you change about the Saban/ Neo-Saban seasons". |

If I could redo one season it'd be RPM. I'd keep it the same, JUST PUT IT ON AT A DECENT HOUR AND NOT GIVE UP MIDWAY THROUGH! ... Ahem... |
|
They gave up half way through? I remember RPM being a joy from start to finish. |

The writers, however, loved it and went all "in Space" on RPM. |

I might as well contribute: Ninja Storm: Make Zurgane the lead villain. Lothor has got to be one of the dumbest villains in the show's history since Divatox. Dino Thunder: No changes. It's fine. SPD: Same as Dino Thunder, though I wish the second team-up it had with Dino Thunder actually had Jason David Frank instead of some dude who voiced for him. Oh, and make Sam an actual human and not a ball of energy. Mystic Force: More episodes to better flesh out the story. 32 episodes just isn't enough for a season of Power Rangers. Then again, the same can be said for Megaforce, but I'll wait until Super Megaforce before making that assumption. Operation Overdrive: Everything. This season needs to be completely redone from the ground-up, including the 15th Anniversary team-up episode. What Sentai suggested sounds like a great idea. Jungle Fury: Make it more than 32 episodes. Other than that, Jungle Fury's fine. RPM: Make it more than 32 episodes. RPM's great otherwise, no need to make any changes...except tell Jonathon Tzachor to quit treating RPM as its own dimension/continuity. |
|
How can you treat RPM as anything BUT an alternate world? I guess it could be the future but Time Force kinda had that covered. |
|
I'd rewrite it by not having Disney or Saban TOUCH the Super Sentai Franchise. |
|
Let's be honest, beyond that of the first few early Saban series, I dunno how you could say any Power Rangers iteration has continuity. Even ignoring how much every season has disconnects with their own internal timelines and mythologies, every season starts with everyone having no idea what Power Rangers are, disbelieving in the power and acting surprised by giant robots while simultaneously we're supposed to believe that there has been two decades of teenagers with attitude fighting in giant robots and everyone just...forgets between fights? |

If you jumped into say 'In Space' while never having seen another PR season, you'd probably be able to grasp what is going on but you'd have no concept of why the events are important. Maybe this is an attempt to make them go back and watch from the start, but other than nostalgia junkes who actually WANTS to watch that first season of MMPR again? I thought as much. There is a time and a place for continuity, but PR isn't one of those. |

Hate Disney or Saban, but Power Rangers is pretty much the universal point for about 90% of the members here, and various other non Asian toku fans online. Oh, as for the continuity problems, just blame it on Time Force or something :p Anyway, I'd change everything about Dino Thunder, because good god that series needs help. First, change Conner. He's so white bread he makes Jason interesting. Give him a character beyond "Soccer." Next, change Kira. I know a lot of users were too busy fawning over her, but she was dull as a post. She had no characterization beyond "She can sing," and she only ever sang like 4 times. She never got to do anything, really. Next, give Trent's story proper resolution. It was built up so well, and I was really getting into it. Then out of nowhere, a laser zaps the dino gem, the evil personality leaves, and Trent is perfectly fine. End of story. Next, change the White Ranger clone. He appeared for, like, 3 episodes over the course of 15 and did fuck all. He was a pointless addition and is the shining example of why the DT writers had no idea what they were doing. Next, remove the civilian powers. They were never used more than 3 times tops, and it always leads to a bullshit argument over the rangers' strength (As I've said before, Kira would rupture her ears before even phasing the opponent if she used her sonic scream in her helmet). Next, Haley. Axe her. She was a pointless character aside from the one time she gave Ethan a hovercycle. I'm tired of everyone saying "Leave DT as is" like it's good or something... |
|
Conner was one of the few things I liked about Dino Thunder :lol You gotta love a devilishly handsome douchebag with a terrible dress sense. He reminds me a lot of what would go on to become the typical male protagonist in YA Supernatural romances novels, which are one of my vices. I agree with EVERYTHING else though Matrix. I was starting to think I was going mad when I read this thread, so it's good to know I wasn't alone in thinking DT had a great first half of establishing things, then a terrible second half of wrapping them up... That and Kira being one of the most unfoundedly overhyped Rangers in the entire history of the franchise, simply on the grounds of 'she was sorta emo and when I was fifteen that was kinda hot'. |
