Let's Watch Wednesdays Week 3 Kamen Rider Blade 7-9
Kenzaki knows Hajime is Chalice, but is he also an Undead?! Chief Karasuma reveals the secrets of the Battle Royale! 10,000 years ago humanity defeated the Undead, can they do it again? 53 Undead, 3 riders, 1 planet at stake. Let's Watch Blade 7-9 |
I love how these episodes get more down into Tachibana's "decay". But will it really gone in the next episodes? Also I have a feeling that Isaka's "plan" to cure Tachibana may put Tachibana at risk. Can't wait next week to find out.
|
This is why i like Blade as a series. It covers almost every characters backstory, but not so much so that it makes you not care about them.I also love the whole Garren/Illness struggle.Shows just how strong he is.
|
Do I need to use spoiler tags in these threads or am I good since we are all responding to watching it?
I love that we discover that the transforming capabilities actually uses Undead DNA and Hajime's freakout as it definitely foreshadows what is to come into play at the very end of the series. My only issue with episode 8 is how Karasuma seemed to be able to just sneak into Peacock's facility and just suddenly be caught within a second after damaging their power supply. Oh yeah, and I cannot wait for Garren to regain his cool as I am tired of seeing his break apart vision. |
Am I the only one getting tired of hearing Tachibana's name being yelled out?

Hopefully you'll get used to it, if not... though luck buddy. |
Eh. I'd rather hear his name screamed than watch the hulk out scene again :p
Anyway, only got to watch episode 7, but I like it when the ineffectual sidekick character actually gets to do something. Seeing Kotaro be the one to inspire and reinvigorate Tachibana was great after dealing with Shunpei who did fuck all until, like, episode 45. :lol |
I cannot believe I forgot to talk about the battle between Blade and Chalice at the end of 8/beginning of 9. I just love it. Watching them duke it out at night is always a treat in any Toku series, but just seeing their rivalry really get kicking is nothing but pure awesome sauce. I also love the attack on the bikes despite the bad looking effects.
|
Well, I cant seem to pay attention during these. Must be the crappy graphics. :lol But, I thought this was Blade? Not The Tachibana show? Also, Chalice- Good guy or Bad? He swaps sides it seems every 10minutes.

And the Tachibana show would be awesome. :lol |
So Kenzaki is abducted by Neo, a bomb almost kills our child analogue character, a bondage were-Zebra attacks the mall, the Chief is back and being stalked by Neo, Milk Guy is maybe being the plucky comic relief, Kenzaki and Hajime try to kill each other by jousting on motorbikes at 88 MPH, I keep thinking of bananas when people address Garren, Hajime saves a hat guy from some assholes and starts asking him about what emotional pain feels like, we get some more information on why anything is happening and how Tachibana became a Rider, and Neo is a peacock that clones/brainwashes Tachibana.
What am I watching?:lol |

Something that I find I enjoy is whenever Kotaro says something, Kenzaki will turn and glare at him. I don't know why, but that amuses me :lol |

It makes sense, and Blade is really good at answering things. So don't worry too much about it. Quote:

I have to say I like how this show juggles several different story lines without letting them get to far ahead or fade. Kenzaki again proves his mental sharpness by figuring out the other two Undeads around were Isaka and Hajime, which I'm really glad he did. We learn the truth about the Rider system in this series which combines the Rider with an Undead contiuing the tradition that Kamen Riders share origins with the kaijin they fight. I really liked the clash between Blade and Chalice. Finally Isaka is experiment on Tachibana...that can't be good.

Still probably calling him Peacock Neo.:lol |
I called him Wesker (Despite having black hair), but to each their own :lol
I think Karasuma name drops him, though. |

Bit of a Garren focus this week, however as he's probably my favourite rider so far i'm pretty happy about that :)
I'm glad that after he found out about it in episode 6, Tachibana didn't just suddenly get over his fear and start kicking ass again, it's cool that we're seeing more of his struggle to come to terms with it. But what is Isaka doing to him? Hopefully the answer is as obvious as it seems, some more Blade v Garren fights would be pretty epic, if Kenzaki ever stops fighting Hajime for five minutes! (although the other 15 minutes of Blade v Chalice would be fantastic going by what I've seen so far!) It's cool in this series how the bikes can actually utilise the card powers, it really reinforces that it's a Rider System, not just a superhero who happens to ride a bike, which is kinda how it feels in the other rider series' I've watched! In a parallel world somewhere, the Tachibana in that suit and tie stopped being Garren and went to be a teacher at Amanogawa High... |

A really nice touch was Garren accepting his defeat since he got to be happy with Sayoko ever so briefly earlier. I like that the bikes can read cards, too. Makes me wish it was used more often. I'd love to see the effects of some other cards used through the bikes :p Quote:

Isn't Kouhei's true identity revealed, like, 2 episodes after he appears in the show? |

The Super Hero Taihen Net Movies went along with the first Super Hero Taisen. They were a series of murder mysteries between all the riders and sentai to figure out who murdered who with what in absurd situations. They do these videos every year. The Super Hero Taisen Z Net Movies were even just subbed a bout a month ago and feature not only Riders and Sentai but Space Sheriffs and a brief sort of cameo by Baltan from Ultraman. |

Watching episode 8 right now...
The police responded to a report of an explosion. With clear evidence at the scene that one did in fact occur. And they fucking leave because they're too busy? Riiiiight... |
It's Japanese police. Toku has taught me they are nothing but idiotic morons. :D

So what I've gotten from this rabbit hole so far is that:
This guy really likes his sunglasses at night. Just cause he can. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 And hes another high level Undead like Chalice/Hajime. Kenzaki is still screaming his ass off. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 Seriously, I would imagine the actor probably had a case of lozenges for this series. Oh, and he's persistently angry about various things. Unlike Tachibana who can't make up his mind if he's a badass http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 or the cover of KQ (Kamen Quarterly) http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 Or if he's just losing his mind. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 Personally, I think this is the funniest screen grab ever from a series. I think it's the actual emotion he's showing is more like bad burrito than fear. Kotaro is still clueless, but grows on you quickly. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 And Hirose is literally just along for the ride and to be the Alpha 5 of the bunch http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 Which is sad, because I like her character. Still more useful than Koyomi. And I completely got a Highlander vibe from this scene: http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1381871579 Which makes this a really cool series to keep watching. I'm having to force stop myself from watching the entire thing, mostly because of midterms. Oh, and the morality pet, aka Amane almost got blowed up. I <almost> felt bad, but she's become the Transformers Prime 'Miko' of this series to me. I'm sure I'll care more, but I do feel pretty bad for Sayoko. All she wants is love, and Tachibana is just pathetic. |

------- I love your Blade posts. :lol |
^ Thanks! I think it's the fact that I'm actually doing this little analysis that helps to understand the characters. It seems like the older the series, the more depth it had. It probably has to do a lot with the same argument for/against the bad guy of the week format that some of the more recent Rider series have had. I don't mind it either way, I just am along for the ride myself.
