Your absolute favorite auxiliary zord thread!
 

With Kickback's and AkibaSilver's threads getting us disscussing our favorite Rangers and Megazords, I figured I would make a similar thread. This time disscussing our favorite auxiliary zords. They may not be the Megazord, but they still have something to bring to the fight against evil. A perfect example of this would be the iconic MMPR Dragonzord.

My favorite auxiliary zord would probably have to be the White Tiger Thunderzord. I was obsessed with the MMPR white Ranger as a kid, so his zord naturally was a part of that. My favorite Megazord being the Thunder Megazord helps add to it as well. Makes for one nice grouping.

I'm also a fan of the MMPR Dragonzord and Megaforce's Gosei Grand.

Dragonzord doesn't really count as an AUX Zord does it? When I think AUX Zord I think Wild Zords, Dino Thunder Zords, Gosei Headders, the Gokai Machines. And from those my favorite has to be the Landick Brothers from Goseiger.

Might just be me, but when I think auxiliary zord I think of any zord that isn't a component of the main Megazord. They're any addition to that main zords. Which is why I also classify MMPR green, MMPR white, Robo Knight, etc... as "auxiliary" rangers. They're additions to the main team.

Again, might just be me...

Roboknight isn't an AUX Zord, he creates his own Megazord.

What he controls is technically called a Megazord, but it's function in the show is more like the Dragonzord, which is why I count it as an auxiliary zord. It's something in addition to the main Megazord of the series.

Again, I'm probably the odd man out when it comes to this. Sorry if I've ruffled any feathers...

That's good to know. I'm so used to mods being a certain way that I forget there are mods out there who aren't power hungry a-holes constantly on the lookout for any minor reason to bring out the banhammer...lol

Anyways, my views/opinions on things are bound to be a tad different. Megaforce is the first PR series I've watched since Lightspeed Rescue, and even my memories of what I did watch are kind of fuzzy. I'm a tad unfamiliar with how the brand has evolved over the years... lol... I also didn't have any friends who watched it, so my knowledge of PR is pretty much just based on how I saw it as a kid. Which is precisely why I'm rewatching it.

You missed alot of good seasons in there, Raven. I can see your point about Dragonzord because it's kind of both. When it forms on Megazord's shoulders it's more an AUX Zord, but when it combines with Mastadon/Sabertooth/Tricera it becomes a Megazord. RoboKnight though I'd count as more a Megazord, while Seaion and Skyion are AUX Zords.

It can be kind of hard to get past my own paranoia at times... :D
See, the way I've always seen it as there is one Megazord, and everything else around it is an auxiliary zord. More along the lines that Megazord is the name of a very specific set of zords, rather than the title of a set of zords combined a certain way. If that makes sense.

As for other shows, there are certainly a couple I would like to watch someday if I could get a hold of them on-disc. I want to re-watch Lightspeed rescue, and Dino Thunder and Mystic Force are top on my list of PR shows I haven't seen yet.

I never considered 6th Ranger zords to be auxiliary. To me, an aux zord would be something like the Red Battlezord from Zeo or the Time Shadow from Time Force.
Rarely does the 6th ranger's zord not become a main zord in and of itself (Though, from how Kyoryu has been going, we can expect that PR adaptation to not feature Pteragordon much. Seriously, I see it more in the end credits than I do in an episode).

Oh, and my favorite aux zord has to be the Wolf Animal Spirit.

Yeah I have to agree I don't really consider sixth ranger zords as auxiliary ones. If I did the White Tigerzord would be the clear winner. Or the Red Battlezord.

If we're talking additional limbs and such, I guess I'll be be boring and say the Patstriker. Deka GokaiOh is rad and I'm glad the Zeo power is going to be a remould of that and not a motorbike.

Now see, I dont know. Red Battle to me seems like an AUX Zord. After three or so episodes it just became a weapons platform for the Zeo and SuperZeo.

If you want to argue that, for about 15 episodes straight, all Pyramidas did was transform into a weapons platform for the (Super) Zeo Megazord and Red Battlezord...

Zeo makes this arguement hard :lol

I don't consider any "Megazord" (although things like Dragonzord also fall in this category) as auxillary, especially not Sixth Rangers one.

That said, Magidragon and GaoLion from Gokaiger are my favourites.

I like Ika Origami a lot. I wasn't even miffed that it got inaccurately renamed OctoZord in the US, because Octopuses >>> All other animals.

I'd have to say that mine is the Dimetrozord from Dino Thunder. I know it's a weird choice, but that one just seemed to stick with me...I don't even know. :lol

That had nothing on the tomfoolery that went on with the ThunderMegazord and "Dragozord". Qilins are basically Chinese Unicorns, so let's call that horned horse a Griffon and the Tenma, which looks exactly like a Pegasus that every child knows of the Unicorn, despite having no horn, which is the most notable part of being a Unicorn. And the Dragozord. So they call the Pteranodon a "Pterodactyl" despite the fact that every kid ever loved dinosaurs back then and could notice the mistake and that the Sentai named it correctly so it wasn't because they wanted accurate translations, but when we DO get a Pterodactyl, we rename it "Drago", despite clearly not being a dragon and being in a series of dinosaurs. Ugh. I can understand wanting to simplify it from Tupuxaura because not many kids would know what that is, but if Pterodactyls are such a good name that they can call things that aren't them Pterodactyls, why not call the actual Pterodactyl "Pterodactyl", "Ptera" or "Dactyl" or anything but "Drago"? Ugh.

Wait, the Qilin was the Griffon in America? When my brother got the Thunderzords, we always just called the one with the horn the "Unicorn" :lol

Anyway, considering what the pteranodon was in the series (Literally a flying chest plate), I don't think that one was particularly bad.
Dragozord was stupid as hell, though. I'll completely agree there.

I thought they gave Drago that stupid name because there was already a Pteradactyl in the show.

Huh, didnt know the battlezord tank is a remold of that? cool.
to answer the question, for me it has to be the wild force girraffe zord tied with dt ankylo.zord even tho both are components of their own megazords.

Quick question. Because of the interchangability, do the Voltasaur's count as AUX Zords? Because if they do.. Stegoitchi!

Yellow had a Pteranodon, not Pterodactyl. Top Galer/Dragozord was a Tupuxaura, which is a type of Pterodactyl. The dumb name would've been fine if they didn't refer to it as a dragon in show outside of the name.

I wouldn't count Stegotchi and Dricera really, because they're the main combination.

I don't think so. Going with that logic, the Power Animals are also aux zords, even Tiger and Shark.
Do carrier zords qualify as auxiliary zords?

Hmmm... If we're going for mechs, the Predazord. It has a drill staff, a purple hammerhead for a hand and completely pwned the main megazord many, many times. If I could have one giant robot to fight the forces or evil (and to get me to school in the morning), I would have that.

On the other hand, if I could only have a single zord, I'd pick the OO Drill Driver. Yes, I know Operation Overdrive, but the mech and suits come from Boukenger, and they look freaking awesome. It looks like the Mole from Thunderbirds, and that was always awesome. How can you not love the GIANT. ORANGE. DRILL.

Aye, everything about the OO zords are awesome. the story was just shite but everything was awesome.

I always thought the min-zord from ninja storm was a cool little dude.


All seriousness, I'd have to go with the Bear zords.

I think the best AUX zord would have to be Machalcon!

Cephalazord. It was a boxing dinosaur that would headbutt you! And was also too good to be brought over here by BOA

Furai Maru seemed like a fun character to me in Gokaiger, so I'll go with him, I would also say Daigoyou, as he was one of my favourites in Shinkenger. When Saban made him as Lantern Zord and took away his sentience, it was the last straw and I just stopped watching Samurai all together.

I'm going with thund zord set of 4 in some case they could be treat as aux zord due to the for armour for red dragon thunder zord to make the thunder megazord

Do Movie Mecha count? If so, try and guess my absolute favorite.

Jungle Fury Wolf Zord. Its an auxialry zord. I think.

That doesn't make much sense, though. They're all necessary for the main megazord combination.
Just because the Red Dragon can operate independently doesn't make the rest of the team auxiliary.
