Ideas for the Guardians as Kyoryugers
 

Since I'm going to fanfic an AU where Deinosgrander and Gurumonite lived, let's go nuts!

Here are ideas for Kyoryu Orange, Emerald, Indigo and Gainsboro.

Orange:
Female, 'The Underworld Heroine'
Armed on; a sword apparently made from bones (specifically, the Bone Rapier from Dark Cloud 2)
Base personality: Very protective, but also rigid and rule-abiding. Also has a very caviler attitude towards death, but doesn't approve of reincarnation theories.

Indigo:
Female, 'The Elongating Heroine'
Armed on; a flail with an extending chain
Base personality; Very polite and helpful, but feels off. Surprisingly good with Children despite her inherent creepyness

Emerald:
Male, 'The Abyssal Hero'
Armed on; a shield, but unlike Nossan's, this one is more like a circular Riot Shield.
Base personality; vivid and bombastic, but also tends to come across as a thing that goes bump in the night. Also good with children, though don't ever ask him to read a story

Gainsboro (Light Grey)
Twin Males, 'The Duplicating Hero'
Armed on; twin whips, Indiana Jones style.
Base Personality; Fred and George from Harry Potter

EDIT: I call these five Team Nightmare. Orange is somewhat self-explanatory, being the guardian of the underworld, but Indigo is meant to be a walking creepypasta/Slenderwoman. Emerald has Cthulhu overtones, while the Gainsboro twins a little too in-sync.

Deinosgrander and Gurumonite can both be either single robots or a combined form. Gurumonite is creepy enough that the others won't combine with him. Gurumonite has the sides of the Ammonite form being shields in robot form. I have the transformation for both mapped out, and Deinsogrander's lower jaw becomes a sword/club weapon.

Futabain splits into two robots than can merge Transformers: Energon style.

Kyoryu Brown
Male: "The Crushing Hero"
Voltsaur: Kronodono - Brown and silver Kronosaurus
Name: Kento Marushi
Base personality: Kind, quiet and patient but has an incredibly sharp tongue. Greatly dislikes Nobuharu Udo old-man-jokes
Weapon: Short spear with an alligator tail shaped tip.

Kyoryu Orange
Female: "The Hunting Hero"
Voltsaur: Furos - Orange and yellow Phorusrhacids
Name: Hagime Yotaro
Base personality: Hates other people but loves Kento and Dashi to the point that she is willing to kill for them. Detests Amy but likes Yayoi. Trusts Torin.
Weapon: Twin beak-like kamas.

Kyoryu Teal
Female: "The Striking Hero"
Voltsaur: Menocorus - teal and white Estemmenosuchus
Name: Dashi Hondo
Base personality: Smiling and always willing to try something new. Likes the other rangers. Terrified of horses.
Weapon: Tetsubo War Club cannon


DiaRyu-OH
:Brown forms body
:Orange and Teal form arms.

These are brilliant!

Though they'd wind up being #24-26. What's the Japanese for shield? Because I'm calling Gurumonite's robot form SpinShield-Oh.

Okay, since I've got the ideas for both SpinShield-oh and BoneDancer-oh mostly figured out, here are how they transform:
Deinosgrander:
1. After the Gabrincho, you pull down the lower jaw and pull it out (this is a melee weapon; think GaoHunter's Alligator Tail as a bulky semi-riot shield)
2. The flip out the right arm and turn the assembly. Pop it off and tilt the front legs back, folding them in
3. Attach the arm assembly. Detach the tail, which will reveal the other arm
4. Fold back the rear legs, extending them (this works EXACTLY like GaoLigator)
5. Fold down the left arm and pull out the tip of the tail
6. Plug in the arm, and put the tip of the tail in the right arm, and the shield in the left arm
7. Tap back for the transformation theme (an omninous beat ending with the name being shouted and a deep bell-like sound; this sounds similar to the Hell's Bell's intro)
To attach other arms: Fold arms up (they'll stick straight out) and fold the forearms in. This'll reveal the slots. When Gurumonite merges with Deinsogrander, we'll see a little more attached. And no, he can't merge with Gabutyra. These two are too creepy to the others for them to willingly merge.

Gurumonite:
1. After Grabrincho, flip down the Ammonite's face. Ideally for the toy, this would pop out the sides somehow
2. Pull the top to reveal the first leg, and the back to reveal the second (note: this guy will be small, being somewhere between Ankydon and Pleuzon sans head/neck piece in size)
3. Spin the legs 90 degrees and fold them together. Like Pteraiden-oh, he'll have knees in a weird way
4. Pull on the sides, revealing the arms and chest. They'll pop off, but this is so you can extend them to full length.
5. Fold down waist and attache arms; the shields are on the elbows and can't pop off. The Ammonite head should be on the left side.
He doesn't have electronics

To combine them both:
Deinsogrander:
1. Do the arm transformation

Gurumonite:
1. Detach head
2. Split him in half. Yes, in HALF. He forms both arms (if I do Beyonsmo, there'll be a way to merge all three)
3. Compress the arms and tuck them into the chest halves
4. Compress the legs, which'll reveal the combined fists
5. Attach the now bulky arms (to Baltmatrix, think Gourraijin's Navy component), which should have the Ammonite head on the left again, just under Deinsogrander's tail
6. Fit SpinShield-Oh's head over BoneDancer-Oh's.

Congrats! You've formed Underworld-Oh. The result should be about default height, if a smidgen taller than Pleuzo-oh

Gurumonite's theme is very similar to Deinsogrander's, but more liquid sounding. The theme for them merging should bring to mind the gates to the afterlife.

I like the idea of the main Jyudenryu being too creeped out by these to combine. Makes me wish they had more personality in the show...

And for the record, "guru" is onomatopoeia for spinning, and "kora" means carapace(not quite a shield, but still sounds better than "shirudosupinnu-o")

As for BoneDancer, "hone"(ho-nay) means bone, not sure about dancer, but I know "mai" means dance.

I'm working on when and where they show up. Probably around epsiode 13 or so, since one of the scenes I have in my head involves the spoiled kid from the Debo Kaweyeen episode.

Emerald may be decent with kids, but at times he can be apparently mean and bullying.

Odd revival; I was talking with a friend, and in order to cheer him up we mocked up what Stymero's Ranger would be like:

Kyoryu Magenta, The Infatuating Hero
Armed on: Stymero Lance
Personality: Chivalrous but a prankster. He loves matchmaking and will always be the mediator for love-based disputes. Instead of being campy, he's somewhat serious. Doesn't consider his color to make him less of a man.

And to go with, Kentrospiker
Kyoryu Aqua, The Spiked Hero
Armed On: a pair of REALLY spiky gloves, the Kentro Boxers
Personality: Hockey Player who likes to keep it clean but once a fight starts that cannot be stopped, he'll wind up taking on all comers and leaving them broken on the ground. Outside combat, he tends to referee everyone and generally contribute to the atmosphere like Ramirez.

Kentrospiker's arm quirk; the back of him pops off and becomes the Kentro Boxers for a Zyuden Giant. When the two merge with Kyoryuzin or Pteraiden-oh, you get [X] Tough Love.

I don't think Kentrospiker would work as an individual character.

Why not? Sure it's the title for all five of the Kyoryuger's main weapons combined, but as a ranger?

Unless it's the overload factor, but I see the Guardians getting different Gabrirevolvers to handle their Zyudenchi. Sword remains the same.

Well, if we add more rangers then the suits just feel less creative to me, as well as most of these zords will just be remolds of the main 10.

Cause they totally weren't already.

This is why I'm half expecting Crimson/Magenta/Aqua getting Zords in Dino Charge.

Plus, Kyoryuger is fanfic bait of high caliber; lots of potential rangers, and it's all just a case of Guardians [X] lived while the rest died.

Two more Ranger ideas and a slight change to Aqua!

Kyoryu Scarlet, the Ballooning Hero
Main note: can inflate as needed in fighting when a Ranger.
Armed On: Puku Flail, which grows to comedic size when attacking.
Finishing Move: Puku Popper; Target inflates and is then smacked around by the flail before being punctured and going kaboom. May be done in a manner so that they don't go off right away and can be rolled into more enemies.

VERY much based off the Tank Toppler enemies in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

Kyoryu Yellow, the Redline Hero:
Main Note: FAST
Armed On: Chase Buzzer (basically a buzzsaw)
Finishing Move: Chase Grand Prix; the buzzsaw faces the ground like a wheel and becomes a cycle, before Kyoryu Yellow does three laps around his opponent, slicing them each time. Upon the third lap he skids the cycle so the front wheel bisects his opponent. Cue victory confetti and explosions.

Change to Aqua:
Kentrospiker is now a serrated axe instead of a pair of gloves. Spins 90 degress for being held.

Yellow and Green can combine to form [X] Roughneck.

Cobalt and Scarlet can combine to form [X] Slapstick

Yes, the next one will be Cobalt. Thinking of having Tuperanda be the other component for a VERY comedic mecha with all three Zyudenryu having fun-loving personalities.

Zyudenry personalities:
Deinochaser: Hyper-competitive and intent on being the first in the fight, first to finish off their opponent, and first to support his allies.
Deinosgrander: Takes her job as an underworld 'den mother' seriously, with key lines in between life and afterlife. Very nurturing, but woe unto those who harm her charges
Kentrospiker: Despite his looks, a nice enough guy who has the mentality of 'you mess with my friends you mess with ME!' and then bringing you down
Stymero: Comedically all-loving. Genuinely caring to everyone but plays it up for laughs
Allomerus: Um, Kamina?
Tuperanda: A screwball who likes flattening enemies in classic cartoon styles. Extreme Makeover: Looney Tunes edition!
Gurumonite: Appears lazy and passive on the surface, but a malicious mind lurks underneath waiting for enemies to defeat and scar forever.
Archenolon: Slow-moving and methodical. Enjoys pranks as much as her two combination partners, but also likes to keep it from being mean
Pukuptor: OUTRAGEOUS in extreme. All about blowing lots of hot air and then backing it up to the best of his ability.

...at this rate I'll have all 13 Guardians done.

Kyoryus White and Cobalt:

Kyoryu White, the Flat Heroine
Main note: Enjoys sneaking up on people and startling them. Compare her to a tiger to your peril
Armed on: Tuperan Rapier, a thin sword which is as 2D as you can get and still have a Zyudenchi put in
Finishing Move: Tuperan Poster; she makes her opponent and herself two-dimensional before slicing them in half. The opponent appears to be a poster briefly before death

Kyoryu Cobalt, the Heavy Hero
Main note: is basically The Heavy from Team Fortress 2
Armed on: Noron Hammer, a two-handed warhammer with a piece in the middle for Zyudenchi.
Finishing move: Noron Break; he channels his power through the hammer, which crashes down on his opponent, flattening them

EDIT: Merge sequence for Tuperanda, Archenoron, and Pukuptor!
Tuperanda:
Step one: after Gabriuncho pop off crest from head
Step two: pull off wings
Step three: fold wings down like Pteragordon and peg in under the head
Step four: collapse legs and swing them forward until they become the shoulders

Archenoron:
Step one: Gabriuncho, which makes the shell slide apart to form a shield
Step two: fold finds until they form a straight yellow line
Step three: plug into the left arm of Tuperanda

Pukuptor:
It's basically Zakutor, do I REALLY need to go into this? Main thing is the tail being hollow so instead of a fist, we get a pop-out boxing glove

Name: Warai-Oh, because it's three comedic Zyudenryu who collectively embody slapstick comedy.
