Gaoranger DX Gaolleries 12 of 15 Gao Kong/Gao Knight
18 Attachment(s)
Tokunation's month long celebration of Power Rangers Wild Forceis about to come to a close! With only a few galleries left today we take a look at the Toys R Us Japan exclusive DX Gao Knight set from Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger!
At the heart of Gao Knight is a Power Animal exclusive to the Gaoranger film, The Fire Mountain Roars, Gao Kong! Kong is a repaint and slight remold of Gao Gorilla with a new combined mode face plate. The same accessories are included however down to the Anchor Chain and Gao Jewel figure, though the Gorilla or Kong rather is cast in Gold now. You may ask what makes the TRU set so exclusive? Well a proper Gao Knight requires the standard blue Gao Elephant. This one is special because it includes a Black Gao Elehpant for use with the separately released Black Gao King. This is an exquisite set that shows just how far some extra paint apps and a remold can go. Kong itself was released individually before this set, hence the added bonus of this set including Black Gao Elephant. Want TokuNation.com updates on the go? He looks brilliant in Red, and with the new mask, I just don't know. I prefer the Green.
|
It's Mystic Force Red Ranger Ape Zord, ahhh!
That mask is screaming Mystic Force Red Ranger to me. Oh wait, I'm sorry, Magi Red :p |
Actually, that's a really cool repaint, I prefer green, but this one looks different enough.
Plus the two of them form a christmas duo! |
Optimus Primal forgot his suntan lotion.
I like the red... but I still kind of like the original head more? |
Got the American release of this as a kid, to this day GaoKnight remains my absolute favorite Megazord in my possession, along with GaoMuscle. Never was able to find GaoIcarus and this was an awesome substitute, despite the fact that aside from GaoKong all the zords packed with it were repacks or crap (in my opinion, of course).

Holy crap thats cool! Now if only kong had rillas head :lol

Can we get a pic of all the Power Animals outside GaoGod together?
As cool as those are, I find it REALLY hard to count them in the 100 Power Animals list for some reason. I think it stems from them being ancestors to the GaoKing set. Except for the Elephant, but then again a Mastodon wouldn't be too hard; the Mammoth is something different and HUGE. |

And I'm planning to do a full Group shot of all the animals I own when I get to the end. |

But I'm being technical with a side of anal-retentive. What did you think of my total redeco mech idea using GaoApe and GaoPanda? |

So, counting my mental coloring of GaoTriple (don't ask how I can see those black and white control drawing in color, but I can) I think these are the colors of the released/designed animals: Red: Lion, Falcon, Kong, Boar (this one's actually Crimson but...) Blue: Shark, Alligator BM, Condor Cyan: Elephant, Rhino, Horse (final episode) White/Grey: Tiger, Polar, Wolf, Manta Brown: Sawshark, Cheetah, Buffalo Purple: Hammerhead, Armadillo, Mouse (final episode), Bat Orange: Giraffe Green: Gorilla, Alligator, Deer, Peacock (final episode) Black: Bison, Bear, Leon Yellow: Eagle, Stingray (final episode) Wow, even if we only got about 1/4 of the total PAs, that's a shitload of animals total. SO looking forward to GaoTriple and GaoMammoth being summoned in my Transformers crossover. |

Though I'm somewhat excited for what the colors for all one hundred would be. The final shot you'll probably post of the released PAs will be amazing. As for GaoKong, how come he isn't the one with the Saxophone solo? Would make total sense for the King Kong one to get the jazz music. |
