Electric Shaving.
I've began the life of a clean shaven hero and I'm thinking of grabbing an electric razor, as I find manual shaving has always been really harsh to my skin and I dread to think how bad it'll be for me to be manually shaving every other day.
Thinking of grabbing a Braun 3 as it's pretty cheap as far as these things go, and has solid reviews from everyone, but as I am an electric shaving noob who doesn't even know what exactly foil shaving is and why they keep going on about it I thought maybe it was best to hear some opinions and stories form electric shavers first. So yeah! |
Word of advice, the cutting power of an electric razor goes down when the battery gets low.
I use an electric and honestly I miss my razor. The electric can't handle my face. It pulls hairs, doesn't cut them, and runs out of power if you look at it cross-eyed.
I just figured nothing could be worse than the way manually shaving tears my face apart.
I just use an electric one. I'd probably end up making my face a bloody mess with a regular old razor.

I've NEVER used an actual razor, & thank god too :lol.
Pfft. I like real razors, if I could find one I'd use a straight razor. But for the life of me I don't know who sells 1950's shaving supplies.
I had a straight razor used on me once at the barber shop. I never sat more still and stone like in my life.

I'm actually not sure they even sell Cut Throats in shops, as barbers at least need special training and a special licence to use one on people.

I actually love Sweeney Todd. Just has made me tense over straight razors being near the neck, the same way Pet Semetary makes me antsy about anything sharp near the ankle (I cringe anytime an ankle gets sliced in a movie, it's one of three things in movies I cringe at). |

It is true, our health and safety here is a little ridiculous.
But on topic, you guys see that link I posted? For those who use electric shavers how does its specs hold up? |
I wouldn't really know. I got mine from my dad and didn't really ask about that shit. As long as it works it's good to use.
But given that some go for over three hundred pounds - that is like what, six hundred dollars? - I'm wonder WHY that is the case, do some cook your dinner for you too?
Maybe they also dispense a bib so that hair doesn't get everywhere :lol
This just makes me freaking terrified to start shaving.
I have to shave every other day and I use disposable razors. Electric razors just don't work in my experience. If you are worried about your skin there is a lot of products you can use pre and post shave to protect you're money maker.
Even using sensitive gels and expensive balms can't seem to stop me, after shaving, looking like Freddy Krueger.
I have the series 2 version of that one Locke. It gets the job done and has never irritated my skin/tore it up =D
I have however switched to regular razors, can't beat a bit of Gillette pro glide ;) Nothing to do with the Shaver itself, I was just having to shave every other day to follow disneys stupid rules and it turns out my charger wouldn't work. Had to suck it up and buy a regular razor, and I can honestly say it's 1000 times better. But they're tearing up your face then that ain't no fun! |
My beard is so thick I can't really use an electric razor. I have to go with old fashioned blades if I want to get shaved.
I also tend to put off shaving since the beard does hide surgery scars and let's face it, lumpy scars aren't fun to shave. At all. |
