Saban Brands "The Vortexx" programming block ending this fall
|
So is the time slot going back to the CW or a new company?
|
Oh lovely. Unless this means he is buying his own network like The Hub. Or really is moving PR to The Hub.
Anything's better than Nick. |
"One Magnificent Morning". Features teen and family friendly programming.
There's a show about a guy who visits sick farm animals. And another where a guy goes to every US State Park. And another where some chick teaches fashion (it's called SWAG and it makes me :lol). Honesty it's being replaced with stuff that you can find on all the cable networks already (Animal Planet, the Travel Channel, etc.) Just sounds like The CW and whatever company that took the programming block are trying to cash in on shows that already exist. |
Let's accept reality. The invention and success of Cartoon Network ruined Saturday and Afternoon cartoon programming forever.
|
It's sad that it's gone. But there's good coming out of this. DBZ returning to Toonami and CN and they finally started to show the other DBZ movies.
|
Now if only they'd fix Toonami as a whole.

Cartoon Network is a tightrope act, they fell, rose back up and now tries to never fall again. Disney Channel is a sell-out, they made Renaissance art for fun and once rich, made kitsch for profit. Nickelodeon is a hack, they rose to heights never before seen, and then stopped caring. Now they fall like Icarus into the sea of mediocrity and farce, subscribing to Milton: "Tis better to reign in Hell, than to serve in Heaven." Who do we cast blame upon? The tipsy artist? The Rosebud-ing tycoon worshipping coin? Or the vagrant who claims knowledge and wisdom? Or do we look inward and say our time has passed, reluctantly leaving the new generation with what remains of the Golden Age? |
Rest in Peace Sonic X, after a full decade and then some on the air.
Long live Sonic Boom. |
Oh how I miss KidsWB and Fox Kids. *le sigh*
|
Pretty sure that Digimon Fusion is dead. No new toys have been announced and we all know that these shows can't survive without the toys.

Really it's everything you stated. What we had back then we'll unlikely to see again. We can totally forget about it and embrace the change, or stay in the past. Personally, I say do both. Enjoy what you loved while giving the new a chance. |
... But I liked watching Justice League Unlimited in the mornings. I stopped for a bit, but that's because I was tired. :(

This makes me unhappy. Not for nostalgia's sakes, vortexx ruined nostalgia for me the second it aired, but rather for what affect, or lack there of this will have. When I was a kid, I woke up at 7am sharp every Saturday morning to catch all of the shows on Fox for kids and kids WB, even taping over shows that overlapped so I could watch everything. When I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons (or rather they stopped having anything worth watching) I didn't get up until 10, then 11, then noon on Saturday's. That sucked, I slept through most of Saturday because I had no reason to get up so early, that was the whole point of Saturday morning cartoons, kids don't have school and need a reason to wake up that early so that when the shows are over they still have the rest of the day to play and have fun, now they wake up and there is nothing for them to be excited about. and just play lackadaisically on the internet for hours without any motivation to do anything. the only thing we have now is Disney XD on Sunday, which is just 1 show now that airs at 11:00.

Hey we have to blame something and might as well pass it to the dumbest party. |

Only reason I watch Vortexx was Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.
|
Rest in peace, saturday morning cartoons. :(

The only cartoon on TV now I feel is still truely great is TMNT. |
I honestly didnt know it was still on the air.
|
Hm? oh. Nothing of value was lost.
Just rerun the old Yugiohs on nicktoons already. |
Well I initially support the show by watching the first couple eps of PRLG and JLU, but I always seem to get bad reception resulting pixelated tv screen stopping every few seconds and minutes. So I stopped watching, i can't enjoyed a show with interference going on.
|
You've got to be kidding. :(
|
I saw this coming after Lost Galaxy was taken off the air. Like Lost Galaxy all Vortexx did was air shows that aired on other networks year's a go.
To this day i don't know why they stoped airing Power Rangers. It wood have helped. It wood have been nine if Vortexx aired new shows. Maybe if they wood have done a Power Rangers spin off show. Somthing new just for Vortexx to air. |
I wish the CW would've just put DC Comics cartoons on this block, then more people would watch. I mean WB own CW and DC, Green Lantern, Young Justice, Beware the Batman, and more would've been awesome for this block.
Anyways I do hope this leads to Saban buying a Network and putting PR on it, and getting away from Nick, I hate what it does to PR and their stupid long Hiatus, and 20 episode split seasons. |
The ONLY show they aired that wasn't aired on any other network in the USA was B-Daman Crossfire, its fate looks f**ked now too. Welp Saturday morning cartoons have been dead since after the early 2000's, which makes me all kinds of sad .
|
sucks, just hope digimon keeps going to the point where they have the cross-over with digi-destined from previous series in the current one. personally I think the reason why digimon is sorta bombing is cause the turned the digivice into a sound box and not an game where you could slide in little chips for battle and stuff like in japan. I mean come on it worked for the megaman battle network toy.
|
This doesn't surprise me at all.

Wait... no, that's wrong. DAMN YOU TURNER! |
There's a second bit of bad news that comes along with this though. When Vortexx started the hope was, my hope was, that he would rip Power Rangers from the hands of Nick and stop doing two year long seasons with six months of nothing inbetween. But now that Vortexx got canned.. Meh.

I hope Fusion will be on Cartoon Network now. I want Digimon to do well in the US again. I bought a few of the toys to support the show. I blame Saban for marketing Fusion so late. No one knew it was on Nickelodeon until a week later. Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai were big hits here in the US. I was hoping Fusion would be the same.
