Your Bluray Collection.
I know we've got a general movie thread already, but more and more specific threads have been popping up on this forum relating to wider topics already in existence so I figured this'd be okay as this is more about the collecting of films than the watching of.
Relatively new to Bluray collecting personally. Never had much interest until I got a PS3 which includes a 3D Bluray player and figured it'd only be a waste not to use it. My collection so far exists of Dredd, War of the Worlds (remake), Jaws, The Warriors, Alien, The Raid and The Frighteners. Don't have a lot of free time these days, so I've yet to watch most of these but the only one in my collection I've not been particularly happy with is The Frighteners. It has a lot of great extra features, but when you see the amazing presentation of brand new movies like the Last Stand or loving remasters like Jaws, The Frighteners looks pretty crap really. Was pretty disappointed with the extra features on the Dredd bluray but the awesome 3D transfer on the same disc as the 2D redeems it for me. |
None. I don't have a Blu-ray player and nor do I want one or need one.

My blu-ray collection? You mean all of my PS3 games and the Wii U 's "totally not a bluray" bluray discs?
I don't own any movies on bluray. I wanted to get Gundam Unicorn on bluray. And then I saw those prices. *shudders* |
If you count Wii U games as Bluray discs, otherwise i don't own one.
|
Not counting my collection of Ps3 games, my actual Bluray collection is quite small:
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen James Cameron's Avatar Spiderman 3 Iron Man 1 Iron Man 2 The Avengers The Dark Knight Summer Wars Wolf Children I wanna add more anime to the collection but maaaaaaaaaaaan…anime on bluray is freakin pricey where I am. |
Trying to grow on my Anime collection now.

I think if it's a cartoon I REALLY like, I'll buy it on Blu-Ray, since I have a PS3 now. (Because Star Driver would look SOOOOO good on Blu-Ray.) |

Here's my Blu-ray collection:
Nice, isn't it? |
Wasn't expecting as much hostility to the format as it turned out here :lol
Really beautiful collections from you guys though and it is a shame that it can be so expensive, as others have pointed out but for me as a film nerd the quality pays for itself, where the effort has been made Bluray really does make DVD look worn out. I've so far stuck to Amazon and it's cost me around six pounds or less per film, which in the case of things like Jaws or The Frighteners and the amount of extras that come with them seems relatively inexpensive to me. |
Back when I had a PS3, I bought a few, but only like 3, and thankfully I got normal DVD release with them-
Percy Jackson Lightning Thief Iron Man 2 Transformers Dark Of The Moon Courageous. Reminds me I need to watch that last one. |
My only Blu Ray right now is Bad Grandpa; which may change in the future. I borrowed Frozen from my sister and brother in law so I have to side with Taliman here; DVDs are a good format but paying the extra scratch for the quantity has so far been worth it.
I would love to get more anime BRs but I sometimes wonder when I'll have the time to just be able to watch, plus our dog barks everytime something goes down. I don't like hearing howls when things I want arrive in the mail. |

The latest additions to my collection! I'm also adding "War of The Worlds" to my list of least favourite Blurays that I own, it's so noisy and has such heavy grain that it borders on old VHS fuzz. It looks more like a made for TV 90s movie than a blockbuster made in 2005 and sure, this may be Spielberg's intention, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look like shit. Right now The Last Stand and Jaws are probably the only two films I've explored in my collection so far that genuinely feel worth owning on the presentation of the feature alone. Films like Dredd are great, but the fun is only if you have a big HD 3D TV because if not, the HD jump is not really worth it. The Warriors is a fantastic remastering too but the lack of a version that has both the theatrical and directors cuts is frustrating and The Frghteners, despite an awful presentation, had fantastic extras for fans of that movie. Will probably, next weekend, trade in Alien, The Frighteners and War of The Worlds just in attempt to get some sort of value back for them even if it'll probably amount to about two pounds exchange. At least it's two pounds closer to affording that twenty film big Clint Eastwood Bluray collection :lol |

My Bluray haul for this month:
http://i.imgur.com/dzfrWlm.jpg Also these three have cool 3D cases! (That wasn't my WHOLE reason for buying these...honest). http://i.imgur.com/rZYemyC.jpg |
They brought an old Doctor Who episode to BD?
Oh god, I'm sorry you bought Sharknado... Oh hell, since you are doing it, here is my haul from Barnes & Noble's Criterion sale: http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9d3a48e2.jpg |
I don't have very many blu-ray discs (partly because I still get most of my Marvel movies on DVD, although there are a few exceptions). The Blu-Ray discs I do have are:
The Lion King Courageous The 9-Disc Star Wars Saga Collection Marvel's The Avengers Iron Man 3 Saturday Night Fever/ Grease Star Trek I eventually plan on getting Captain America 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Blu-Ray, and I will also get two copies of Thor 2 (the Blu-Ray release and the DVD release [for when I go on vacation]) |

Also Syfy originals <3 Although Arachnoquake was way worse than I remember it being, traded it in with Robocop and The Raid. |
