Worst Rider belt/ transformation device?
We need a dedicated thread to vent into for this. I'm talking mainly about asthetics but I guess powers/ functionality could fall into this.
I think the worst is the Kabuto belt. Its a boring gray flat uninteresting piece of shit even with the Zecter attached. The Hyper Zecter sort of makes it better but its just boring lack of details all over. Whenever I see that belt without the Zecter and they make a big deal about the fact that Tendou has the belt, I always think that they're making a big fuss over what is literally a flat piece held together by a belt. Second worst is probably the Den-O belt (at least that qualifies as a Rider belt). Just very visually uninteresting. |
Fourze Driver. The transformation is cool, but that thing is a gigantic, clunky brick that takes up too much space and looks terrible.
|
I think Ryuki's belts are lame, as is the Henshi. Love the suits though.
|
wizard driver not only does the hand print look silly the belt sound are also pretty irritating especially infinity's
|
Wizard's driver is awful, Fourze's driver is okay at best, still awful, Decade's Driver had lots of potential, but sucked as all the rider powers (which should be able to be used just by assuming the form with some exceptions to things like Clock Up and Form Rides was a waste).
|
Not really worse, but Kick/PunchHopper's belts are really bulky.
|
I hate to pile on but..
WizarDriver. That Shabadoobie, and Latouch Magic Touch to Go, ruined every emotional moment that show might've had. When he first became Flame Dragon, when he became Infinity, and so many others. It's hard conveying a deep emotional scene when your belt won't shut the hell up. Fourze's might've been a brick, but it was a quiet brick! |
Hibiki. It's not a belt. It's a hundoshi of all things.

Gotta go with Wizard here, the design and gimmick are a little weird but I can dig it but my God the OBNOXIOUS SINGING. Like at least Beast's had that sort of dramatic feel to it, there is nothing dramatic about 'shabadoobie touch to henshin' jangling in the background, it made every "awesome" moment become laughable and distracting.
Although the drivers of old aren't nearly as engaging, I still prefer them because I can't stand all the noise. Os really grated by the end as well with the needless singing every time he transformed. I was happy to see them take it away for Fourze (which I think is an awesome Driver) but then Wizard and Gaim brought the hell all over again. |

I agree with you about Beast too. L I O N Lion is miles better than "Shabadoobie Touch to Henshin". W's and Fourze's though had a good balance. They spoke, then shut the hell up. |

It's when you have like ten Riders in the same room, each with a driver who needs to tell a story during the transformation and I'm squeezing my head and screaming for it to stop. It seemed to get so bad in Gaim, the creators themselves got fed up, because if you listen to the Driver on the earlier episodes they are much louder an more pronounced than they are in the later episodes. |
The sengoku driver, I mean Squash, Au lait(which is the dumbest) and Sparking? Those sound stupid, and that laugh at the end of the jimber arms just kinda kills it. Kinda hard to look cool when your driver says Au lait

I'm gonna be honest but the Agito Belt doesn't dig me... if anything it's bad... really bad!!
|
The Sengoku driver is cool! It's sort of like Ryuki's belt, except it does something instead of sliding. Also, the sounds didn't really annoy me. I like Gaim and Baron's belt noises when you have an unopened lock in the driver. If I had to pick the worst, I would say...Ryuki's. It's just a deck of cards on a belt. Either his or TheBee's. It's just a bee on a brace.

Personally, I have no henshin device so far that I actually found awful in some way. While I disliked some of the designs, they all had some good points about them. And to be honest, the singing driver in OOO was one of the things that got me to watch the show in the first place. |
I 've heard toy-wise the DiEnDriver is pretty bad, but if we're talking functionality...hm...Ryuki's belt. It's kind of boring.
|
Wizard. The hand doesn't look very interesting to begin with, then it has to start a sing-a-long every time it swaps sides, and finally it's not even very unique to begin with everyone sans Beast getting one...
Fourze's is a giant brick house of a belt, but at least it has a cool voice and overall aesthetic. |

Come to think of it, J and ZO had it the worst.
|
J and Zo didn't really have belts in a sense. ZO pretty much just did a henshin pose and transformed, and J had a belt buckle. So if we're considering their lack of real belts, then yeah I guess they are the worst.
Wizard gets my vote though. That thing is just stupid looking. |

"I am Kamen Rider J! I can grow big! I... erm.... got a buckle... ?...And a gigantic freakish talking grasshopper as a companion...Fine, I suck." |
Did Shin even have a belt?
|
No. His transformation happened very much like one transforms into a werewolf.

I really have to add to the fire that is forming around the Wizard Driver. Of all shows I have watched, none annoyed me more than it.
|
Now that I'm watching more of the original 10 Hesei era shows, I kinda enjoy the simplistic types of belt they had.
I enjoy Den O, and Zeronos belt as they're simple and have a decent tune. "Sword form.", "Atlair Form..." "Charge and up". It's not over complicated like the current Sengoku Drivers, while they're super fun I don't think I can imagine myself using one of :lol. Kabuto belt I like, it's simple as well. "Henshi", "CAST OFF! ... CHANGE BEETLE!" |
