Kyoryuger 100 Years After Discussion
It's been 100 years since the Kyoryugers did battle against the Deboss legion.
Led by Ghaos and a new set of emotion monsters, the Deboss have returned and the descendants of the Kyoryugers must stop them! But what is this? Navy? Violet? Gray? Cyan? Silver? That's not the colors of the main heroes! Something is off. Will the descendants of the original Kyoryugers figure out what's wrong and manage to save the day in time? Vote and discuss! |
Haven't seen it, still voting excellent.
Lady Candelira. |
I have seen it and found it to be excellent. Of the V-Cinema "returns" type movies we've gotten for sentai since Shinkenger this is one of the best. Still nothing beats Go-Busters VS Go-Busters from last year, but this was a great fun epilogue to the Kyoryuger TV series.

This was fucking brilliant! I am super emotional after watching this. I loved Soujiro, just as reckless as his grandfather lol. I love that Souji got the girl and the part at the end was hilarious with him. Uppi and Icchan were both spectacular too, especially how crazy Uppi is. This was a total fucking brilliant movie and I want more Kyoryuger!

Great special

This movie was okay. It started out really bad but got better as it went along, but they really really screwed up Chaos (or this new version called Ghaos). I know he is not supposed to be the same dude, but the way they portrayed this new version was a joke. He feels more like he belongs in Go-Onger rather than this. The other thing is the movie does nothing to answer the question about where Deboss came from, which is very annoying. The second half the movie was enjoyable though and brought back the energy the series had, but to be honest, I would have rather had a team of new colors since it was a movie set in the future over them being required to have the standard ones. Overall, I give the movie a 5 or 6/10, but it was at least worth watching once.

Its was okay to start, I kind of hope they would keep the random colors through the movie, but I did like to see the new generation actually hit their stride.
One thing I loved was Nobuta saying more southern slang. I mean 'y'all', 'fellers', and a whole lot more. Oh and I demand a Armored On arm for Golds SHF. Now. |

I knew voting excellent before seeing it was the best decision. Lady Candelira, Yes. With Blonde Hair, Hell Yes. And, you know, the rest of the movie was awesome too. And he can say they weren't all he wants, those were bowls. |

Flashman 30 years after.

The beginning of this movie just had me laughing at how inexperienced they were. But, the movie later on got great and I absolutely loved Uppy/KyoryuViolet. He was just hilarious to me, and also Dai-kun, because I can relate to him when I was a kid. Anyways, it was a great movie.

After watching this I wanted to see Shinkenger 100 years later.
|
I like how everything in this movie just made sense.
I love the fact that Candellia made a new Kyoryuger team using whatever Batteries she was able to find laying around, picking people randomly off the street. And the cheap effects they used to make Souji seem like an old man was hilarious. Overall, a really fun V-cinema and it just makes me sad that Figuarts Kyoryu Gold has no Armed On Arm. |

I thought it was kind of goofy she never thought to look behind the photo where the batteries always were, and makes me wonder where the 6 she found were in the first place. :lol |
It really is hard to beleive that these are the same actors that played the Kyoryugers we all know and love, not that I'm saying this in a bad way mind you.
Though I find it funny how Nobu is still nobu, even 100 years into the future. |

It makes me think how they approached them with the offer. :lol |
I enjoyed it a lot, but it wasn't flawless.
I thought it was really lame that the new Kyoryugers didn't stick to the other colors. I was really hoping for a Gigant Spinodaioh or something actually new. I also found Canderilla's little bubble in the corner of the screen for the main fight really distracting and annoying. I love Canderilla, but I was not a fan of that at all. |

The movie seemed intentionally vague about Nossan and Canderilla. She didn't remember him at first because of the Deboss Regret guy, but the descendant was specifically his sister's great-great grandson, not his. Its certainly possible that they were together, but never had kids for obvious reasons.

After seeing this, I want a Shinkenger 100 Years Later or Gekiranger 100 Years Later. Am I the only one?

This movie was superb. Hands down the best thing to come out of Kyoryuger. Everything just felt right. Uppi is the best :lol
My one gripe is they didn't use the colour mistakes to their full advantage. The story of them getting their proper colours was really well done but the biggest draw for me was seeing them in that unorthodox formation. It would have really nice to see some sort of Tobaspino formation that they couldn't control or even a dangerous Tobaspino carnival mode. But thinking about the budget this thing had, those all seem a bit much :lol That bit after the credits gave me feels as well, and I don't even like the show all that much. |
WAit what... They become the original Kyroyugers? That's a bit odd... I kinda enjoyed the whole set of different color sentai team they had going on.
|
ok really enjoyed it. the fact the the great grand kids ended up being the same colours as the great grand parents was awesome. the little comedy moment at the end with yaoi was also funny to try and narro who daigo went with even though it slightly obvious it was ami
|
wished the kept the Blue and gray colors, but it was nice seeing the new team come together and win the day though.
|
It's funny, I wasn't a big fan of this show when it started, but it really grew on me. The movie was well done for the level of fan service it provided. Definitely a major case of the feels.

Past, present and future KyoryuGold steals the show.
I actually really enjoyed this, it just felt like everyone on the production was having so much fun. I'd probably enjoyed this more, if I liked Kyoryuger more, but the in jokes at its core series own silliness were largely still strong enough to enjoy here without the emotional connection to that series. It also took some of the worst parts of Kyoryuger and smoothed them until they became diamonds while adding enough of its own new ideas to keep things fresh. I guess this proves why second seasons are important in TV, because it gives you a chance to learn from your mistakes, which tokusatsu just can't really do being mostly isolated to a single series and a few standalone films. I never thought I'd be asking for it, but if this is how Kyoryuger can improve itself I'd be happy for a whole new season. If I was to have any criticisms it's how low budget this was, I know tokusatsu isn't big budget anyway but every seam, make up, wig, gap and crease was placed centre stage in the 1080 release. Much of the production from suits to sets look like something you'd have found in 70s Doctor Who. Given that the Seasons Beating monsters look much better in 1080 than the Generals do I'm just going to assume they were poorly designed and even more poorly engineered. I liked the design of the new general, even if the execution of that design was poor. Still though, the action is wonderful. The use of computer generated effects, the huge personality of each Kyoryuger, the wire work and fight choreography and the general sense of flash and style give the movie the same punch in the action sequences that the series did, which was the whole reason I could finish that show. The Kyoryuger are badass, and I love how powerful they feel. |
Those jackets were awesome. Totally the best part of the movie. :D But the whole thing was brilliant, especially with more Yayoi. I can't wait for the Vs Movie.
|
So that was an enjoyable movie. I'd actually want to see a series with the future Kyoryugers now. Someone perfect cloning technology so it can happen! As for the movie itself I'm a little sad that the off color Kyoryuger theme didn't stick. I get the need of the proper colors to have their ass kicking mojo, but I wanted to see the redundant team colors get some proper ass kicking in as well. Uppi really stole the show for me, and I'd love to see a buddy cop movie with him and Utchy now.
