Power Rangers Super Megaforce Ep 13 "The Grass is Always Greener... Or Bluer"
Uh-Oh! Time for a Ranger Swap! Veker's new Monster seems to be targeting the Ambassador, but what's this?! He decides to swap Jake and Noah instead! But bigger problems are coming. Noah's working on a new double key blaster, but it doesn't seem to work! And now that he's switched, can he finish it at all and help the Rangers get the edge in battle?! Teamwork can construct the ultimate weapon to defeat evil! The episode airs Saturday at Noon EST on Nick in the US! |
I think I'll do "Good."
I like the use of original footage. And I think the "Super Mega Saber Blast" was original footage too. But the things I didn't like is the sudden arrival of the Ninja Zord and Orion's absence. |
This episode is a prime example of everything wrong with this season. What they did was shoehorn, for no reason, two episodes of Gokaiger into one episode of Megaforce that made no damned sense. Ignoring the use of Bioman, because sadly we should be used to that crap by now, they completely muted Fujimaru. Just like they muted the lantern thing from Shinkenger. Not only that but Orion is missing for the entire episode with no explanation. "He's at Ernie's! No wait, we can't find him! Oh there he is!" is not an explanation. They completely gutted the storyline from Gokaiger where Doc builds then cannon. And then they never once explain why in the name of holy Gosei the damn changer monster was after that ambassador in the first damn place! Just there he is, let's go stop him. Where in Gokaiger it had purpose. Every week, after every episode, I feel like apologizing to the people of Japan because this is what we did with their television show. And yes, I know, "But Sentai, it's a kid's program. What are you expecting?" I don't know but I'm almost certain even three year olds would find this season insulting to their intelligence.
Please let Dino Charge start early? This season.. it just needs to end. |
Changeman? Dengeki Sentai Changeman?!
WONDER NEEDSTA SMACK A BITCH!!! |
I'm pretty excited for this. I think the zord builder ports will only be on the shoulder and not where the dinos connect, as it would impossible to swap with other toys from previous lines. Also, the Dino Charge Megazord looks great! Definitely better than the disappointment itself, the Legendary Megazord.

Aw, c'mon. I loved it. More Sentai-exclusive Legendary Morphs, the Super Mega Cannon, and the Legendary Ninja Storm Megazord! I voted “Excellent”!
What?! What's not to like?! |

At least Once a Ranger did a better job of bringing the old Rangers together. :p

Gosei: You made a new cannon...so you've gained the powers of Ninja
Not the worst they have ever done, but this season hasn't been what the Neo-Saban hype machine billed this as either. The new footage and the initial battle and actual switching were well done, though. I didn't think they spent much time fleshing out the differences between Jake-in-Noah and Noah-in-Jake, however. We actually don't see any Jake-in-Noah sports action outside of the Command Center, just a few scenes of slightly jock-ish behavior. It is interesting that they used the body-switching plot so as to make sense of the Gokaiger footage when Green uses his gun and when he later comes in with the cannon. The second monster and the new footage surrounding that battle were definitely some of the high points of this episode. However, a keen eye can notice two things: the actual "Final Wave" impact from Gokaiger is excised in favor of the monster blocking the New Super Dynamite from the Dynaman "Gokai Change", and one can also notice that the footage of the two Green keys in the blaster is unaltered and thus giving one a Midoranger key glimpse. Really, the major complaints are: no fleshing out the characters concerning the plot, unexplained Silver, and unconnected Ninja Storm references. Wouldn't it have made more sense to use new footage with the team turning into Ninja Storm? I also think the Ninja Zord (which needs a better name) could have at least been hinted at in "The Perfect Storm", as most people initially assumed he would debut there. It wasn't the worst, but like all of Megaforce/Super Megaforce, it could ALWAYS stand to take some polishing.
P.S.: I understand the disdain from most when they use Pre-Zyu Sentai, and I think it's a cheap introduction/nod/plot device. However, I've come to accept it because if the option ever arose, this is something that could be re-examined and justified if one would bother to explain them. I propose a PR anthology series. |
Was it me or does the Invulnerable monster sound like The Murray.
|
Not the best episode but it did do a few things right. Not many but enough not to make it a total waste. Everyone else hit the nail on the head with what was wrong so I won't rewrite anything they've said.
