Another kamen rider fighting game?
do you think we could get a kamen rider game sort of like gundam extreme vs with loads of characters from showa to heisei?
|
I want another one like Super Climax Heroes. I absolutely love that one. I want one with all the Riders in it.
|
Gaim only fighter please.
Heck they should use the Soul Caliber engine while at it. |
I want them to put all the Riders in the game from Ichigou to Drive and all the secondary, tertiary, and movie riders in it.
|
Normally I'd say it's an impossible dream, but since Naruto does rather well with getting all the important characters (as well as numerous unimportant ones) in their games I think Namco Bandai could pull it off with Kamen Rider. Just make the game a 100% fighter, not a "free-roaming"-beat-em-up.
|
Please god no.
Main riders only, please. The Naruto fighters are one button mash fests. Combo 1? O->O Combo 2? O->O->O Combo 3? O->O->Wait->O There is no substance to them at all. |
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the combos (or lack there of) in Naruto games, but I think they handle character distribution fine. Characters that don't do much (like Kage Assistants) are support-only, which I think is a good way to have non-Main, non-Secondary & Movie-Exclusive Riders (Chalice, Femme, Aqua, Gridon, etc.). Or have no support with just Main & Secondary Riders fully playable.
|
I guess that I've never been a big fan of style over substance, which the Naruto games are. It feels like every character is based on one of, like, 5 different character types, the only unique thing about them being their cinematic hyper attack.
I know that their character distribution sounds appealing, but counting main riders only, Ichigou to Drive is 36 characters, which is already a large number for any fighting game. Also, the concept of a "Secondary Rider" has been expanded beyond more than just one character, as Ryuki had Knight and Zolda, Blade had Chalice and Garren, hell, Gaim has a "Big 4" rather than a secondary rider :lol And then there are the alternate forms, oh god, the alternate forms. Kuuga has 4 forms that each use a different weapon, so it can't be a simple palette swap but require actual character modification (Same goes for Kiva and Den-O), Kabuto has Masked and Rider forms, as well as his hyper form using a weapon neither of his other forms uses, Den-O has, like, 50 Final Forms, and then there's fucking Decade. Each character, their alternate forms, their final forms, and etc further expand the roster as they're not playing identically to their neutral form. It's just...To have even just the main characters from 1 to Drive is still a gigantic roster I'm not against the concept of assist characters, and I think it'd help get characters who otherwise would never appear in, btw. |
If they can make Dimps, who work on the Budokai games, SF4 with Capcom and the Saint Seiya games then I think they could give us a solid fighter game.
|
I feel that alternate forms (like Kuuga's & Double's, etc.) can be handled in combos. The match starts with the base forms but during the fight you use a certain combo & the form changes just to perform the action (Gaim switches to Pine for a combo then switches back to Orange when the combo's over). That's just how I would do it, but then again I'm no game designer.

I know I wanted to get into Battride War 1 & 2 but decided against it since playthroughs I saw showed nothing but the story, which wasn't too much of one. All those games feel like are just quick opportunities to use your favorite Rider's powers & not much else. There's no VS mode. Why???
|
I can understand that.
But fighting games aren't the same. I know it seems simple, but a lot goes into them. It's more than just having a lot of characters. |
I expect some thing on the Marvel Vs Capcom line since Kamen Rider in my eyes would be super crazy hard flashy combos on the screen.

It's likely simpler than making an entire fighter from scratch. Or it'll probably make them more money.
|
Namco Bandai can just make a Toku all stars game with fighters from Kamen Rider, Sentai, Ultraman, Godzilla and Gamera. Namco Bandai owns the video game rights to those franchises and are market to kids in Japan. Imagine Smash Bros but with Toku characters.
|
The thing with that is you'd have mostly current Toku characters taking up spots, meaning you'd have to carefully pick & choose who else from the past would be featured & it creates disappointment for people who don't see their favorites represented. The appeal of these kinds of games (at least to me, anyway) is seeing generations clash. Plus seeing monsters munch on the various helpless henshin-heroes is completely one-sided. XD

I really don't think that'd work.
Mainly because it never works. |

If they're going to make another fighting game, what I'd love for them to do is what Battride War 2 did and use the moves the shows never got around to using, even if the possibility or deliberately obvious use of said moves was available to the Rider. For an example of what I'm talking about, Kiva never used Bassha once he got Emperor form, even though there's a symbol for it on Tatsulot, and there's no reason for this weapon not to be used alongside the other two. Also, the Gaim Riders barely Rider Kicked, and if you're particularly anal about this not all of them used the "Au Lait" or "Sparking" finishers (looking at you, Kureshima brothers).
Old anime fighting games used to be the place where people could be imaginative with characters who weren't given a chance to shine in the anime yet (Shino, Hinata, Tenten, Kiba, and Kiba from Naruto, and I'm sure many others do the same). I'm pretty disappointed how the recent Ninja Storm games leave much to be desired from how they portray the non-main characters (granted, the earlier ultimate ninja games basically had everyone having jinchuuriki-level chakra, but still), so in the interest of hoping for the future, let's hope big. Completed move-sets for characters who ran out of budget for their possibly flashier finishers, and for the love of God, Toei, quit censoring Ryuki and Knight Survive's Final Vent! |

Baron is tricky, because on the one hand Lemon Energy Baron was a perfect stopping point for Baron's progression of power, and unlike all the other riders in show Kaito used Every.Last.Finisher his suits could offer him (in movies and in show), so he'd have a complete moveset without needing Lord Baron. Really, all Lord Baron would end up being is like Wizard Infinity or Kiwami Arms in the Battride war games: over-powered add-ons with nice enough powers, but alone feels like half a character and when actually attached to said character they feel like unnecessary extras. I get what you're saying, especially for Eiji and Kaito, but Chalice doesn't seem to get portrayed well is recent games, which is disappoint, and considering that Kaito wasn't even supposed to get the Genesis driver in the first place, which makes you wonder how "official" Lord Baron was in concept, I would like to at least see that form added to games, even if we all acknowledge Lemon Energy Arms as his final form. |
