Interesting episode! I like the Roidmude, and they did have a little twist to his identity that was rather clever. Since Mashine Chaser is my favorite character of the show, I liked the way he kicked Drive's ass, although I hoped they would save some of his Cores for future episodes. Let's hope he gets more.

So with the teaser for the next episode, I think Chase will finally get some character development. From what I see he will be unable to shoot Kiriko and question himself why. This could lead to memories of his past human life/host surfacing, and I suspect it will be his past live as Proto Drive.

Interesting setup and an overall good episode, keep it coming Drive!

I just saw the raw, can't wait to read the full dubs. Honestly, I find all the hate towards Drive around the web a little exaggerated. it seems to me a decent toku show with some interesting character and good enemies. The main character is quite funny, to tell the truth. As for the gimmick, it's not that different from the past seasons. I mean... Come on, Gaim had fruit-shaped armours, the car-themed Drive can be hardly more absurd than that

The extent of the hate honestly seems to be "It's not Gaim" which I think just isn't fair. I think a lot of it has to be Gaim went to the more serialized format of pre-Den-O series, and a lot of peopled hoped that it would make a comeback. Drive is, by no means, awful because it isn't serialized, though.

It gets even more hilarious when people complain about things Drive did that Gaim did as bad or even worse.

Not saying that everyone who dislikes Drive does those things of course.

I´ve seen alot of people on the Internet saying that Drive is "too predictable" and Gaim "did it better" when it really didnt. Almost everyone managed to predict major story twists in Gaim so how can that show not be predictable when so many people predicted important events months before they happened in the show.

I liked this episode of drive mostly because a camera roimude is there and we hadn't had many of them so I like it and the fan service is coming in aka shinnosuke x kiriko I call it.
Oh and as always mashin chaser was boss even though he had a short part

I really enjoyed this episodes alone for the humor in it. There were a good amount of gags that made me laugh out loud. My favorite being Shinnosuke getting hurt by the Type Speed Tire :lol

And I love that they are having the running gag of Otta always seeing different body parts of Drive.

The Case this episode is also nice and I liked that we learned more about what the Roidmudes are trying to achieve. I like the fact that even when a Roidmude evolves it can still devolve again when it hast enough energy to sustain its new form.

The "this show is crap because it's not the previous show" thing tends be super frequent in the early weeks of the new show's run and usually the people making that argument tend to romanticize the previous show's strengths while forgetting it's flaws. So you just gotta learn to tune that shit out because this always happens when a new show in a series comes out it's like fucking clockwork. Seriously wait till the end of Drive (unless it becomes terribad) because this will happen again.

Aside from the fact that this statement isn't true (most of the big predictions turned out false) there's a difference between being predictable and predicting something.

When someone predicted something about Gaim it was because the show set up those plot twists with carefully planted evidence as part of the larger mystery. They predicted events and facts.

Being predictable means a show's narrative is following conventions and typical developements. You're not examining evidence or deducing clues that come to a logical conclusion, you're being able to tell how events play out because they're typical and easy to figure out.

It's the difference between a cop drama where one case is predicted by examining the evidence at a crime scene and picking up on non-blatant clues to determine the culprit, verses a guy with an eyepatch, twirly moustache and foul demeanour that clearly says "bad guy" and then having him be the culprit.

Great episode this week! Can't wait for the next episode. Door Gun's debut and we may learn something about Chaser, next week!

It is not even true that the show is totally predictable. For example everyone has his idea on the identity of mach and proto drive. On the other hand it is too early to have a serious plot twist ( even gaim was not different in This)

I liked this episode a lot until the last five minutes. The stuff with the reporters was good and interesting and I like the different M.O. for this week's Roidmude. Honestly, it felt like we could have a good done-in-one episode this week that would end with Shinnosuke taking down the camera Roidmude. But then we had to get the requisite fight with Machine Chaser.

I'm already over this guy; he looks cool and all, but he's not much of a credible threat when Drive is kicking his ass week in and week out. He needs to get more powerful: a Machine Chaser appearance should be a "holy shit, things just got serious" moment, not a minor hurdle to delay the main fight against the monster. As it stands now, all it feels like Machine Chaser does is pad out episodes.

I really enjoyed this episode, Shinnosuke and Kiriko I really enjoy their chemistry together and the scene where he was bored in the car was fun. I love the little Kyoryuger reference when he was going to get wild. I enjoyed that the Roimude worked like a yummy this episode and that it is an interesting development learning there is a Prime Number. I definitely feel they are already building to something bigger. Chase vs Drive continues to be an interesting feud and I love Chase's new weapons Bat and Cobra look awesome. The story with the reporters are interesting too. I am really enjoying this series a lot right now.

I hope Chaser will get more development next episode. He is pretty much just a lap dog for Heart and Brain right now. Hes bad ass sure but right now he is not that interesting beyond "look at me I have a deep voice and can fight".

Okay, I had very "rambley" post in which I talked about what I would of like from this episode, but I shouldn't be dealing in "what could have beens" I should instead deal with what we got... and all I can say is "Wow that ending made this feel like an episode of OOO." I'm going to go re-watch the episode and process some more.

I'm really surprised by that. After the goofiness of Fourze, or Den-O, I don't get why there would be more people that dislike it over those who do. But your reason seems to be the only logic. "It's not Gaim" is like the GeeWun of the fanbase. Does this mean that now Drive AND ToQger are both reviled?

Honestly, I liked this episode a lot. It spent time giving proper character development, and had some action. But I am totally over Leangle..I mean Chaser. I have a very distinct notion of what's going to happen, but it didn't help move the story along other than to give us an extra week of the same Roid. Poor Drive, he's gonna need some Preparation H for that Prime Roid when he comes along.

Another episode I just wasn't into, mostly because I guessed exactly how the episode was going to end in its first 4 minutes. This show is already as repetitive as Wizard. I was hoping it would be something more like W or Fourze, as those shows worked with the 2 episode format.
