like all other before it this one for J-Drama and feel like there few people that watch them on the forum so enjoy.

So J-Drama. As I have finally finished watching Tokyo Ghost Trip, I am currently watching both Hana Kimi versions.
Personally, I prefer the 2011 version because it just feels more light hearted with less kitsch. The characters are also not as super-crazy as in the older version and I'm glad the love interest is not as angsty as in the old one. However, both have its moments. And actors (toku-people galore). |
Keiji 110kg lit. 110kg Inspector.
A cop drama where the protagonist is a 110 kg man. It has Jinnai Sho aka Enter as a semi-regular. Think pre-weight loss Drew Carey meets Columbo. |
So far i watched, Dr. Jin series 1 and their sequel Jin 2. Both are very good, if you like medicine and time travel then this story is for you. It follows more or less the same premise as in the manga but the ending is different. Sorry i wont spoil.
The other J-drama i watched was Umechan sensei, starring Horikita Maki in the leading role (yes the same as in Hana Kimi), good story as well for its 15 minute per episode format. Too bad has not yet fully been translated as it goes over 100 episodes. Well, it was a morning drama. Reminded me a lot to NHK's Inochi (1986) which made me to tear a lot, had great stars of the decade now famous, like Mita Yoshiko, Yakusho Koji (famous for his role in Memoirs of a Geisha and Babel). This story is also set in a post war Japan (1945) and how the heroine Takahara Miki becomes a doctor after her mother pass away from cancer, eventually she is joined by her sister who assist her as nurse. It spans different generations between Japan in the mid 1940s to the then present 1980s. |
Watched episode 1 of death note drama. It was not death note character was not there. The premises felt like death note but character writing was not. The changed L not small change but a big one. I um can say I want be watching no more it just not death note.

I've been on a J Drama binge lately. Much like Tokusatsu, it's so addicting. I just finished watching the 2007 version of Hana Kimi. I loved it so much. I liked the wackiness and weirdness of all the characters and it was interesting to see a lot of Tokusatsu actors in it, considering that during 2007, a couple of them would have or would soon be working with another cast member in either Kamen Rider or Super Sentai. I'll give the 2011 version a try once I get some free time.
I also recently finished watching the first season of Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo. I liked that one as well and will eventually watch the second season once I get some free time. I also started watching the Death Note drama as well. It's okay. I don't like some of the changes they've done but I'll still watch it, I don't tend to drop a series cos I want to finish what I started. Is there any other J Dramas anyone would like to recommend and I'll try to get around to watching? |

so i started watch Yamada-kun to Nananin no Majo
the j drama so yes im posting it in the right thread dunno why i got hooked on this more then i did the anime adaption of the manga. |
Well, I was a bit disappointed with the drama honestly. The cast is great and all, but they left out many interesting elements from the manga. And it also felt way too short in comparison.
