Some strange MMPR looking thing - claims a new show being made

So the dude that has these suits claims they're screen-used from the pilot episode of a new top secret Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show aimed at an older audience and set 20 years from where the original left off.

Again, not buying it. But here's some pictures. I would write this off without thinking twice, but the actress linked to the story did tweet out pictures of this very suit (as seen in pictures) so there's that. But those helmets are so ridiculously amateur and ugly looking that I would be embarrassed to show those on television let alone at a convention of my peers.

Why does the pink ranger helmet look like the head of a female kamen rider kaijin? Its like they plucked the antannaes out of Joker from Blade and painted it pink.

Katie Sackhoff, from Battlestar Galactica. She was Starbuck for like 5 seasons. She's in 1 of the images attached to the original post and is supposedly one of the actresseses attached to this. Which makes it all the more unbelievable to me.

Man, I am getting reaaaaaal sick of people thinking that adult themed and mighty morphin are going to go together. I mean, being dark and edgy isn't automatically going to make something better...

Isn't the movie supposed to be filming soon?

One of these days Saban will make a PR season out of a comedic Sentai series and keep it just as light hearted, comedic, and quirky as the Sentai and it will be the most successful PR season ever.

Here's the scary part.

Some of those pictures were tweeted by her, namely the super close up of a pink material with a burn mark on it. Rangerboard members were able to match it up to the picture of the costume on auction. She also tweeted with those pictures about a "new super top secret project" that she's working on.

Could it be a vanity project? Like maybe she's a huge PR fan and wanted to fund her own "fan" film? This has me stumped, that's for sure.

Plot twist: Hajime is now the pink ranger.

This is totally a joke. If not, someone is crazy.

I mentioned this yesterday in the How are you today thread after I got the iCollector email and before I dumped it on Reddit. That guy has a crap reputation among the prop community. I am a little disappointed with iCollector, they usually tend to have better documentation with the auctions they broker.

Not bad work from someone who has clearly never seen a decent picture of the MMPR helmets.

And yet, the Red Ranger helmet is the only one that looks even remotely like the suit upon which it's supposedly based. Yeah, no.

I think some of the helmets are actually pretty cool though do make terrible MMPR helmets
