The Passing of Monty Oum
 

@RoosterTeeth posted on twitter this morning the passing of Monty Oum. For those of you who don't know he was one of the creators of RWBY, and many other RT productions. As well has many other projects in and around RT Productions.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him, his wife, and everyone at Rooster Teeth.

This... this is just horrid news. My condolences go out to his wife and Rooster Teeth. This is unbelievable. :(

R.I.P Monty Oum... you will be greatly missed.

I heard about his conditions and I really hope he was going to make it. This just sucks now.

Tragic.

Damn. He was only 4-5 years older than me. Its always a sad day when an artist or entertainer dies. I hope his family finds the comfort they need in this time of sorrow. But we will do as asked and try to do something creative in his wake.

This is very sad news, he was far too young. Rest in peace Monty. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, I can't even imagine how difficult this must be for them.

This news is really sad, that is far too early for a man like that to go.

I wasn't a fan of his work, but it still sucks to hear of his passing.

Oh wow. I've only known his name, but this story still makes me sad. He was so young and I'm sure that he had so much he wanted to do in his life... I wish his family and friends all the best. May he rest in peace.

The good that came from this came from fans. There was a GoFundMe set up for his wife and family to handle medical expenses. 150 grand in two days.

I was really hoping he'd pull though.

It's upsetting knowing he died at 33 years old. That's just horrible to even think about. Thank goodness for the people that donated during his family's time of need; it's never going to replace him but as long as people are creative his sprit will live on.

Burnie Burns, one of the Founders of Rooster Teeth, has asked in lue of gifts or cards to the family you instead honor his memory by doing something creative. By creating something like Monty had always done. I'd like to second that.
