Does anybody know how to fix circuitry?
 

Today, while fiddling with my OOO Driver, my scanner started to go really slow. Now it's all slow and sounds deep. People say it's due to the R11 part of the circuit board, which controls how fast the scanner works. Can someone please tell me how to repair it? :(

Wow, that sucks. Mine sorta has a problem but not really. Sometimes the first LED that lights up when you scan medals flickers or goes off, but that's it. I would start by opening it up and just looking to see if anything looks wonky.

I did. And I just left it for a couple minutes to eat dinner and it won't even turn on now :(. I even replaced the batteries :(

If you're serious about finding an answer you should probably use Google Search or something.

This really sucks too :(. Hopefully I can figure out how to fix it or get enough money to buy a new scanner

You didn't short it out by accident did you? I did that once with an old DS of mine that I was trying to switch the screens to. Or maybe a connection somewhere is loose? I hope you figure out how to fix it. A broken OOO scanner would make me very very sad. Especially since it took me so long to find a decently priced one.

It took me a whole year to convince my parents to get me it for my birthday. So it really hurts that it's not working anymore :(. I opened it up, everything seemed fine, but then it still won't turn back on :(. It worked before I came up to the house I'm at now, and I hadn't touched it until today :(

Okay...I just got home and it's working again, but the voices are all high pitched O_o

Maybe it's possessed by Ankh and he's just screwing with you? xD

That is very strange though. First too low, then stops working, and now too high? I know nothing about how it works so I have no reasoning whatsoever for that.

But if your scanner is broken, then how will you fight the Greeed? :lol

But seriously though, that sucks, hope you get it working good as new again (so you can defeat the Yummys :D (OK, OK, I'll stop))

I know, it's really weird. I'll post a vid of how it's voice currently is tomorrow. I hope it becomes normal again dude. Without it, I can't continue What's That Core Medal. On the upside, I went to a casino and got enough money to buy Medal Set Sp ^_^

It probably is a loose connection. I'd have to see it to be sure, though.

Current situation: The scanner still has the same sound, but when I tried to scan, it wouldn't. I opened it up and it turns out that 3 wires need to be reconnected. I asked my parents for a soldering iron, but the only one we have is too big

That's too bad about your OOO Scaner. I'm horrible with tech so I sadly can't help with this. Do any of your friends have a smaller soldering iron you could borrow?

Ok... I am so sorry, but that sounds HILARIOUS! I would (probably) be able to solder those back together if I had them, but we are likely SO far away, that's impossible.

So, when you opened up the scanner, did the wires detach? or were they 100% not attached when you were doing the videos? I will open mine up as soon as I can find my screwdrivers...

Apparently they got detached sometime between last night and the time I posted that pic. Cause it was able to scan last night

thats great! it took me till april this year for them to finally get me it for my birthday, and that was wen it was 150 bucks.... also i think theres a problem with mine. wen i scan with it it almost never scans the third medal and or the chip in the belt. does this happen to anyone else

Awesome! Glad to hear you got your Scanner fixed at long last! It's never fun having a favorite toy be broken and you can't fix it yourself. I went though two Undercover Dons because I couldn't fix the heads right. I'm happy that you were able to save your scanner.:thumb:
