The next sentai theme after Zyuohger in 2017/2018/2019/2020
 

I know its still early as Zyuohger still continues, but in this case... what will be the next theme after that?

Cause Ninninger didn't feel good to me and neither did ToQger.

Next theme... I hope either...

A monster theme since Kiva or a new time travel theme like Timeranger but with a historical figure vibe since Ghost.

We got enough...

- Dinosaurs: Zyuranger, Abaranger & Kyoryuger
- Ninjas: Kakuranger, Hurricanger & Ninninger
- Animals: Liveman, Gingaman, Gaoranger & Gekiranger. (Zyuohger will wait for more to offer)
- Vehicles: Turboranger, Carranger & Go-Onger

Well, when it comes to animals, there's a lot of promise if we stop defaulting to the same common ones (Birds of prey, lions, sharks, lions, tigers, wolves, lions, etc).
I think an animal team would feel fresh if they expanded their horizons rather than have the same typical animals with one oddball.

Greek Mythology theme would be cool. Each mecha/zord can be based on monsters from Greek Mythology. It would be like Super Sentai meets Saint Seiya.

If it was a monster theme, this sentai can meet Darkstalkers.

Red - vampire (he can be a half-breed/dhampir)
Blue - lycan/werewolf (he could be bitten by one)
Green - merman
Yellow - mummy
Pink - ghost
Violet - witch
Orange - jack'o lantern/headless horseman

White - paladin (the anti-hero)

Villians:
Vampire - Dracula
Frankenstein's Monster - the muscle and warrior. In reality, he's a nice guy.
Succubus
Cursed Samurai - swordsman hungry for blood
Zombie/Ghoul - rockstar
Demon - Jedah Dohma

I think that's a terrible idea, myself.
I want a series to be it's own, not just going "What if [Blank] was a sentai?"

Why not go all the way, at least? Make White a catgirl and make Pink a freaking Dogu for Huitzil?

We'll never see it, but I want insects. And constellations/astrology would be nice.

Whatever motif they go with I want it to be something original. It's why I immediately took a liking to Shinkenger, Goseiger, Gokaiger, and Go-Busters. Say what you will about ToQger but at least they went with a theme that hadn't been tackled as a full team motif in Sentai.

I went with Alchemy since I think that's what Kamen Rider Beast was based off of. I think it'd be interesting to combine Ancient Powers and Magic for a Sentai. Plus we haven't really seen magic in Sentai since Magiranger(Or Gokaiger I guess) so that's something.

I just want another Rescue Sentai.

Hmm...I am really want Time Travel Sentai again just like Timeranger. But their battle in various timeline and place. Example: battle in Japan in Edo Perioid, battle in England in 15th Century, etc....

About villain, why not if the main villains (bosses and evil commander) is evil Super Sentai too (similar with Nejiranger from Megaranger) I think if the main villains is evil Super Sentai (evil human group and they are not monster), thats would be interesting too. The evil Super Sentai has their own mecha and they also can create motw...

How would you all make a better monster theme for a sentai? Kiva doesn't feel well to me.

What about a time travel theme? Since Ghost has historical figures, the sentai's rangers will be descendants of historical people.

I think I like your villain idea.

But the rangers I'm thinking that their DNA represents their historical figures as they're descendants.

About Historical Figures-themed Super Sentai, I think:
- The Red Ranger based on Oda Nobunaga
- The Blue Ranger based on Napoleon Bonaparte
- The Black Ranger based on Albert Einstein
- The White Ranger based on Joan of Arc
- The Pink Ranger based on Empress Xiao
- The Gold Ranger (Sixth Ranger) based on Alfred Nobel

Additional Rangers:
- The Cyan Ranger based on Cleopatra
- The Green Ranger based on Shaka kaSenzangakhona
- The Two Purple Rangers (male and female) based on Pierre Curie and Marie Curie

And their Mecha has time travel ability and has humanoid body just like five main Majins from Magirangers. Each mecha also based on Historical Figures

- Black Ranger: DNA from kings & conquerors. Like Nobunaga & Tutankhamen.

The zords can be humanoid.

For mecha, I think the mecha should has five different modes (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, etc) when they combined just like Time Robo Alpha Mode and Time Robe Beta Mode from Timeranger....

Think of the black ranger as a mix of Wolzard, AbareKiller & TimeFire. He can use to be a former lover of the pink ranger.

The zords of the rangers would be like the Magiranger's zords mixed with the Time Flyers.

Would you all see all the rangers as time travelers? Or one of them from the future meeting four rangers from our time for help?

Another technological sentai with Space motif like megaranger would be awesome.

How would you all make a better monster theme in the sentai world?

Voted marital arts. Who would expect a sentai about wedding planners?

I like the idea of a mythological Sentai series, but (as I've said in other threads) the one I really want is one based on MMO / JRPG classes. Are Changeman, Dairanger, and Magiranger really the only ones with mythology-oriented mecha? Or am I forgetting one?

Changeman doesn't have a mythology themed mecha. It's just a set of vehicles.

Yeah I prefer to categorize them as military.
As for next year's sentai they should go full on Bob the Builder and have a construction themed sentai that forms Devastator(not literally but you know what I mean).

I would like an Insect Sentai show because it would refresh Super Sentai and it would be cool show but I don't think Toei would pick that theme because they always be safe with Sentai and they always take a risk with Kamen Rider

They tried to take a risk with Go-Busters and it didn't succeed at toy sale and was considered boring

I love how most of the examples are Kamen Rider


A mythology Sentai would be cool.

If it was a monster themed sentai....

- Red (with orange): He'd be someone like Blade who is a half-breed vampire.
- Blue (with cyan): Someone got bitten by a werewolf and has a hard time controlling his hunger.
- Green: Either a merman/mermaid or Frankenstein
- Yellow: A mummy
- Pink (with purple): A ghost who can speak to the dead.
- Gray: A shinigami.

Villains can be associated with alchemy.

And if a space theme, they better associate with Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac! The rangers gain armor from the twelve signs of the zodiac as an upgrade. Ophiuchus is a tough one.

The villains can be based on the Twelve Olympians.

How about a second Poker card themed Sentai~?

I wish they can do a new martial arts theme. This time with constellations & the zodiac - Saint Seiya style.

How about a pro-wrestling theme?

For mythology, they can do gods. This will be a dark-themed series. The story goes like this:

Ever since people stopped worshiping them, the polytheistic gods became immortal humans (immortal as in they don't age but they still die with other means).

A thousand years ago, it was precised that a group of once powerful deities will destroy the Darkness. So, the Darkness, which has just recently regained consciousness is now hunting the once gods down. A lot has died. So, the Messiah has carefully chosen and gathered 5 warriors.

1. Red: Susanoo
2. Blue: HeBo
3. Yellow: Isis
4. Orange: Apollo
5. Purple: Rama

Added Rangers:
6. Green: Loki


Villains
- The Evil Lord
- Ravana - Rama's arch nemesis
- Loki (Will become a good guy and the 6th ranger (Green) by episode 17)
- Ares - is the 3rd strongest villain after the Evil Lord and Ravana but the 2nd most important. Ares killed Athena at episode 1. He joined the evil force because his father, Zeus disowned him. He has a connection to Susanoo because they have the same experience but hates Apollo, his half brother and targets him everytime.

My point was this thread was made to discuss potential themes and motifs future Sentai series could/should use, but rigidly coming up with stories and characters to go with them takes the thread in a whole different direction altogether.
