Do You Guys Think We Will See Another Evil Rangers Counterpart Team Anytime Soon?
 

By that I mean like the Nezirangers/Psycho Rangers from Megaranger and PR in Space, respectively.

We've gotten decent looking evil versions of rangers in recent years, like Enter when he took Red Buster and Beet Buster's forms, or Deathryuger, but no full team to match the heroes of the season (save the 6th ranger, who may be introduced later than when the evil team was formed).

I ask because from what I hear, Zyuohger will be wrapping up it's Evil 6th arc rather soon, and since they felt like bringing back that way of introducing a sixth ranger, maybe Toei will be interested in doing more than just making one evil ranger and having his zord hijack some of the good guy ones to make his own Gattai/Megazord, but instead have his own stable of evil, disposable zords to call on.

What thoughts do you guys have on this idea?

I hope for something like that.

Would love to see that again. But I don't know would Toei spent the money on another evil team like the Nejirangers? Back in the day sure Sentai was very different back then. These days it all about saving the budget and gimmick toys. You would have to take that into thought.

Maybe Toei will used the few evil rangers we got from the last few years of Sentai and make them into a team in the Zyuohger vs Super Sentai. Could happen not a 100% but there is a chance that it could would like to see it.

I would kill to see another evil Sentai team.

I think the big problem is that Japanese kids just don't buy villains' toys, so creating an entire team of evil rangers is basically forcing themselves to admit to taking a hit of "These 5 toys will only sell half as well as the normal ones."

Did the Nejirangers even have toys?

I assumed they got soft vinyls.

Either that or they make a limited supply for adult collectors to buy online to begin with.

That's not netting much profit, though.
Collector lines for adults never make as much as the main line for children.

The way you made it sound, they aren't going to net much of a profit anyway.

Sure, I think it's possible. They haven't done a full, evil team since the Nezirangers, so I figure we're due for a revisitation of that concept at some point.

I have always been shocked by the fact that with all of the ideas that sentai uses over and over sentai uses that a evil counter part has only been used like twice. I would think that from a business prospective it would have them a lot of money if they made weapons and mecha for the evil team.

It makes me think there must be a reason why they don't. Maybe they think it distracts from the iconography of Sentai as innately heroic?

Villains don't sell.

Depends on the series, though yeah, Sentai villains I don't really notice a lot of merchandise though.

Then again, considering this year they went with the whole 6th ranger starts off as an evil lackey plot, which they don't always complete do (I don't count Utchy because he was basically being worn, and Kinji was more a playful (deadly) rival who still fought the Yokai in-between his early assassination attempts).

If they're cool with revisiting the whole "6th starts bad" trope, why not mix that with Kyoryuger's "we have 6+ rangers" approach and have a full team of evil rangers, even if they are all redeemed at the end (as annoying as that would be, for me at least).

I never, ever buy villain figures. But if given the opportunity, I'd buy a Neziranger or Flowery Kunoichi Gang figurart in half a heartbeat.

The only reason they don't is because the freaking red rangers sell fucking more! Sorry I hate the fact that i can't find a red ranger whenever I look for one.

I am always think Villain Sentai Team should has postion as general or big bad villains and they can create monster of the week.....

Hmm....if we has Villain Sentai Team in the future I think the color would be used is maroon red (leader), purple, grey, dark green, and orange...

That depends greatly on the show. Like, the villains in ToQger were so popular that Bandai made toy versions of their train robots.

But yeah, I think in general Bandai and Toei want any Ranger looking dudes to play nice with each other. You can kind of tell this is why the whole tribal conflict aspect of Goseiger becomes almost non existent after a few episodes.

Yeah, but they still happened. Granted, they were definitely aimed at older audiences.

You could probably get villain toys selling if they were a bit more sleek in design and not just a random monster.

Villains don't sell well in Japan. It's why you don't see figures of the big bad on toy shelves very often.
So to design a group of villains based on the rangers would be a waste since they couldn't destroy and recycle them as easily as the more monstrous baddies/MOTW.
While they could make toys of them, they wouldn't bring in as big of a profit as the heroes.

On the other hand, they're literally making an episode/short movie for Heart, and they've done so before for Ryouma, Eternal, and Alain when he was still in douche mode. Granted, Alain they likely had plans to turn good from the start, and Eternal was portrayed as a good person, but there is an attempt in past years at least on the Rider side to make money off of the bad guys.
