Just as i thought the franchinse was dead, BAM! They bust a new one. With an obuse resuce them to it, it reminds m of Tomica rescue with those helments. I am enjoyinh how the mecha turned out very much.

They look a bit like upgrade Gobusters suits with the shiny visior and black straps.

Huh so that's what happens when you put Tomica hero and Gobuster into a blender. Not as awesome as the Planet Saver, but still not bad I do like the yellow mech for it's circular saw hand.

With a hint of Transformers and Muginebine to the mix.

I can see Mugenbine but where do you see Transformers?

Giant Saver is China's answer to Super Sentai/Power Rangers, it's an original IP that has nothing to do with anything related Toei, Bandai, or even Sentai.

Seeing as I really enjoyed the Space Deleter set from last year, I am certainly going to buy these.
What I like about the Giant Saver toys is that they are clearly focused on being solid combining toys, instead of built around a certain gimmick, like most of the later Sentai toys are IMO

@Kiryu: I suspect CB1 means that these mecha are so awesome, that Toei will really miss out on profit with Giant Saver as a competitor.

Again, like I said: while China's clearly taking inspirations from Super Sentai/Power Rangers, but aside from a few minute differences and visual comparisons one can make these suits, the mecha design, and even the team logo is completely original. China's not stealing anything here.

Man, I wish recent Sentai mecha looked that good. (Subjective, I know.)

Anyone else think where the black "ranger" zord loctaded funny? These are very parts former-y it dosnt bother me but i woumd if that is a put off for others here

I think Armor Hero is a good example of taking an obvious influence (Kamen Rider) and running with it.


I just checked out the series 1 version of Giant Saver - it was really cool! Obviously indebted to Sentai but very Chinese in both feel and design. One thing I've noticed from the few Chinese toku I've seen: HORRENDOUS pop music. I don't mean "pop music, it's lame", I mean it's really poorly executed music - like the producer let his teenage nephew do it on Garage Band and he and his buddies do their best but, damn, that puberty is making it really hard to sing in key! Besides that though, I liked it.

It's going to be very hard to top the last series :)

Just started casually watching Giant Saver: Space Deleter - love the designs and action. The show itself is pretty silly so far, kind of a cross between Power Rangers and Super Sentai. Haven't seen any Rescue Engine yet. I can't believe there's THREE Fire Fighting related toku. Pretty cool.
