Except for the fact that he looks hilariously out of scale, he looks amazing for an oldie candy toy.

Yeah, he's a bit short, but I don't mind. I love these old kits.

As far as I know the go back to Zyuranger. Maybe even a little before, but I've never seen a kit that old.

It happened over several kits, each design evolved a little more than the last leading up to the modern kits.

They vary from model to model.

It would be insane to have a fully articulated Grandliner, I wonder why Bandai never went back with the knowledge and tech that have now?

Candy toys aren't really produced with collectors in mind. An SRC, sure. But re-doing a design they already attempted a decade ago for a child oriented line? Probably not. That or they just don't realize that potential.

Granted, but I figure with Gokaiger and 35th anniversary, Bandai would go all out on the toy front.

No matter the size Grand Liner always looks awesome.

And he has an AMAZING theme song.

I've seen Liveman minipla kit on yahoo that does the full combination (as far as I could tell). It was insane.

They only started getting good articulation around Gekiranger. The ones before than had some added articulation here and there that didnt mean much (like giving Wolkaiser knee joints even though his hips dont move).

Grandliner has a lot of detail for an old candy toy. Amazing how far candy toys have come.

I had thought I misread that this was a candy toy, and not a model kit, ala Mini-Pla... or Super-Mini. All the sticker applications look great, and the plastic doesn't look cheap at all. Maybe it's the black, but this piece looks great for being an older candy fig.
