Tragedy in Aurora
Please send your thoughts and prayers out to the people of Aurora, Colorado this morning. Last night during a midnight showing of Batman, a gunman (Possibly two) threw tear gas or a smoke bomb and then preceeded to open fire into the crowd. 14 people confirmed dead, 50 confirmed injuried, and that's a changing number.
We have a few members from Colorado, including our Boss: Kickback. So hope, as I am, that no one they knew or are related to were involved. Including themselves. So please. Remember scenes like this when you post a flame, or say to someone jokingly about killing someone. It's never a joke to those who lose someone they love. |
I live right down the street from that theater, and that is the one my g/f and I go to all of the time. We didn't go to the midnight showing because I have a job interview at 10 today. I was woken up last night by the sirens, but did not know what it was about until this morning when my friends called me and woke me up. I want to know why they allowed the guy that did it to live!! He should be in the morgue right now full of bullet holes from the cops, not in a prison cell awaiting a trial.

My condolences to all that lost their lives in this senseless crime, people should not be fearing for their lives when going to see a movie.
|
this should not be able to happen. i hope all the families get their payback on them.

I've looked the similar thread over at TFW2005 and didn't see any posts from KickBack on there. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have this site. I hope he's OK.

Hopefully the gunman will spend the rest of his life behind bars, away from the rest of society. |
What a terrible thing to have happened, and ironic that the film itself includes a couple of similar scenes. It's one thing to see it in a film where you know it's staged, and another to hear something like this actually happened to people.
Life imprisonment is too good for him. |
life behind bars is too good for him, he should have an endless soundtrack of the families crying playing in his cell at all times, that way he can learn wat he did was horrible

Redacted per Sentai.

All we know is he acted alone, his home is booby trapped, and the death/injury count. |

I can't put into words how horrified and saddened I feel by this incident. My thoughts go out to those involved and their families.

i wanna go to dkr tonight but now... i just dont know

I know I won't be going to the movies for a while. It's scary that there are people out there who wish to harm the innocent like this.
My prayers go out to the victims and families of this senseless crime. |

On the other hand, my entire area looks as if they are filming an episode of CSI due to how much stuff is closed off. |
That's really horrible. :( My heart goes out to the loved ones of the deceased.

I just saw this article over on MSN Aurora Tragedy Apparently it has been confirmed by an anonymous police officer that this psycho did in fact call himself the Joker. The kind of monster that it takes to commit these atrocities is terrifying. To think unstable individuals like this mad man can buy weapons in this country is sickening.

Heard about it this morning at the airport, my thoughts go out to the families and those injured.

A statement made by Christopher Nolan about the incident:

My condolences for the lives lost. :( At least the killer has been arrested and is in custody, so hopefully he gets the worst kind of punishment.

I put something up on the frontpage. I went through Columbine living here in Colorado. And now I've gone through this. I knew someone in Columbine who died, and now I have a good friend who is just devastated at the loss of his friend from this tragedy. Very little sleep last night, and a lot of just sitting there asking ourselves ... how the F could this happen.

I don't know. Maybe we're all angry right now. Maybe we just needed to vent it out, and I can understand that. |
I disagree. Scum like this does not deserve to live. He is not a human, he is just an animal.
His punishment should be being tied up and the families of those he killed are all dressed up as the Joker and each one gets to stab him until the man dies. He does not deserve a trial, prison is too good for him, as all both of these do is waste tax dollars that could go to important things like education. |

It really sucks, it's people like these that ruins fun for everyone.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families. |
