Yeah, having seen the thing in person I can't stress how huge this thing is. It's like a small child.

Interesting its in Lion Mode here though, at London it was in robot mode.

To be fair we haven't seen Bison King yet either which is... odd to say the least.

Damn man. I was expecting they would find someway to cheat the size like they did with the Ushi Origami, Gosei Ultimate, Machalcon and Bragigas.

But no, this is a full freaking playset. Damn.

Yep, it has a jail cell thing for villain figures, a helipad thing for the weird toy-exclusive helicopter thing and a compartment to "launch" (not sure if that's physically or if it just rolls out) the bikes. Eyes light up as well.

Nope, its due out in the summer. Card at London Toy Fair said July.

EDIT: Also if the price is a straight conversion it'll be $120.

That's a lot bigger than I was expecting.

Well that's... one sizeable toy. Going to wait on reviews, but it certainly looks like it'll be worth it's price. Just gotta figure out a good way to display it...
Gotta save something for next year.


Edit: Off-topic question, but I'm curious. Does anyone know if at either the London or Nuremburg Toy Fairs Bandai had any of their Dragon Ball Super toys on-display?

That thing is huuugggeee. I feel like becuase of its size, the ninja steel megazord will probably look a lot smaller when combined with it if it actually does.

Will there also be Legacy stuff on display there or no?

Based on your personal observations, how does the Megazord Mode look on its merit and how does it feel compared to the look of the original Lion Ha-Oh toy and Lion Ha-Oh in the show? I look at the shurikens and they look unpainted and unremarkable (though this could be a demo/prototype version).

In theory, the justification comes from the Legacy line. Despite the high price tags and market inundation, the newer, MMPR products are SELLING, and Bandai might have actually focused on some of the initial comments regarding "Lion Ha-Oh will most certainly be smaller when it gets adapted!" on top of the "You're gonna need a bigger Megazord!" when looking at Lion Ha-Oh and realizing that size couldn't be avoided! I feel as though a smaller, more affordable version will be available in time given that price tag and the fact that the humanoid Otomonin are getting those possable, "Armored" figures!

I held off buying the BoJ version. My assumption was that we'd get a standard sized BoA ZB version and you'd be offered a 5" NJ Megazord to drive it.

Gotta say this took me by surprise. But I'm glad they're doing it. I have a weakness for base bots.

I think there is a current push in toys for a yearly, $100+ big ticket item that is at least 2 feet tall. Look at Transformers for reference: Metroplex, Devastator, Fortress Maximus, and Trypticon sometime this year. Power Ranger's first step into this is with the new Movie Megazord. There's no reason it needed to be that large. Other action figure-oriented lines are returning to large play sets, like TMNT's sewer playsets (and a little smaller, the Technodrome from the 2nd Bay movie). And from the quality, detail, and focus on play patterns, these don't appear to be aimed at adult collectors (well, outside of the TFs).

Lion Ha-Oh was disappointing to me. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the final Lion Fire Fortress Zord turns out. It was a little jarring that the toy of the final combo of Dino Charge ended up being smaller than the plesiosaurus combination.
I mean, with the ability to be able to choose between the Sentai versions or the Power Rangers versions of toys these days, it's fun to let BoA try something new. They come up with some surprises like the Samurai Bullzord's extending legs to keep it in scale with the other Megazords, or this return to a giant base Zord.

Sculpt-wise it looked pretty good, but the back was mostly hollow (it gave me Pyramidas vibes, which seems to be what they were going for). Like the one here all the gold was done in that dull bronzy plastic colour rather than painted, which leads me to think that's what the final product is going to look like.

I never owned DX HaOh or really paid much attention to Ninninger toys, but comparing to online pics it at least looked pretty close to the original - just with far less paint. Bare in mind I'm going off memory from 2 weeks ago though, so it's a bit spotty when it comes to the finer details :lol the main things I remember are the price, release date and gimmicks.

I'm probably wrong, but IIRC it had to be that big because if it was smaller it would be unable to support itself. That said, I want to see Lion Ha-Oh and this together.

The more I look at this thing the more I think it's just the BoJ version with remolded parts to work with the BoA toys. The biggest differences I can spot molding wise are the arms, everything else is pretty minor like the lack of gold parts in the back legs, which could just be a change in plastic color and not new parts. Doesn't the Ninja Steel Megazord already fit in Lion Ha-Oh pretty well?

I'm not sure, but I know that the OtomoNin fit the Megazord pretty well (except for the shuriken).

What American parent is going to spend $100.00 to buy a Zord Builder toy for their kid? That is crazy as hell.
