Super Sentai: Amazonz Treatment
 

Basically what the title says.

If you could have a season of Super Sentai redone in the way Amazonz is being produced, which season would it be?

Would it also have a mature style to it, or not?

Would mechas be out of place in a series like that?

Would you also make it a Showa series, or adapt one of the Heisei ones?

I'd like to see a new version of Liveman, based on what I've heard about the show.

Maybe Maskman due to having a prototype 6th ranger (so now he can just be a complete one) or Dynaman (like the suits, and they have a Dark Rival character from the looks of things).

Really, I think Ohranger should get a second chance. A more serious atmosphere that shouldn't be dialed back and drastically changed due to a real life tragedy.

So Ohranger should be given a second shot as a military meets ancient magic themed show :lol

Seeing updated Zeo suits *dodges Sentai purist fire* I would be totally down with. I seconded that idea.

From what I've seen, Abaranger, solely because I want to see how an updated look for the 'rage mode' would look like in that setting. Though Ohranger's description sounds good

A dark/gritty ToQGer or Car ranger but still maintaining it's comedic tone would be hilarious.

Gorenger. Have the costumes be more tactical like MCU Cap while maintaining key elements of the original. Having it be a mix bag of IDW G.I.Joe comics and Winter Soldier in terms of tone and some neat action scenes would be *does Kajiki Yellow pose* beautiful.

I would also like to see Ohranger re-done as well but Shishido the actor who was Oh Red has to be Miura.

Another one I would like is Edo era Shinkenger.
Have it be as intense as Rurouni Kenshin and have the costumes done by the GARO staff.

I'd like to see Gorenger's mechs get a transformation gimmick.

Have Variblune become a clunky bulldog bot that chomps down on the bad guys. :lolol

Jetman, absolutely.

However... I do not love Amazons. Heck, I haven't summoned the motivation to finish the first season. I like the idea of what Amazons is trying to do. The execution just wasn't there the last time I saw it (up through episode 8, I think.) I didn't find the characters compelling enough to care about the misery of their lives, and the show felt like it was trying too hard to be dark for the sake of darkness, rather than in pursuit of any particular narrative goal.

Mostly, I'd like to see Jetman given sharper writing. I want to love that series, but Kaori's simpering and Gai's buttheadedness were just too much for me. (I like a good antihero, but he comes off more like an idiot than a jerk.) Also, a Sentai with only five members has no excuse for underserving two of the team, and Raito and Ako never gel for me. The series was attempting enough grown-up themes that I'd like to see them done handled in an adult manner.

JAKQ would be my pick.

This post reminds me very much about my feels toward Amazons. I like the idea of Amazons and I'm not entirely unsatisfied with the execution. Its just when I try and look at everything about the show individual that I realize that I don't think I like the show very much.

I think Liveman is a good series to be rebooted in Amazons style since it's one of the darker series in showa era. Still waiting for a Kamen Rider parody though (akibaranger style).

Although, I'd probably spring more for a straight up remake that keeps the serious tone of the first few episodes.

Always had trouble with fully liking the team myself and kinda consider the commander being much cooler than the entire team.

Hard to decide but If I had to choose I would say Megaranger because I am curious if the Psycho Rangers will go on killing spree, Another would be Abaranger for AbaKiller.

I think by "Akibaranger style" they want some more referential humor, rather than a more broad parody of the franchise that G was.
