Rank every Super Sentai season that you've watched!
MaskedRiderAsakura did one for the riders, so I think we should do one for sentai & try giving some explainations too if you can. Also, I seen a few episodes of Mega, GogoV, and Timeranger, but prefer their PR counterpart, so I won't be ranking them. We only seen a quarter of kyuranger, so we don't need to rank it yet.
Liveman-The villains are good rivals to the heroes. Dairanger-Very emotional series. Gekiranger-Same as Liveman. Shinkenger-Fun and serious. Gobuster-Good stakes and mecha battle. A very different sentai. Jetman-Overrated, but the villains conflict are what makes the series so good. Dekaranger-Prententious cops trying catch small criminals, but the cast is a lot of fun. Kyoryuger-Great choreography. Toqger-Very likable cast and enjoyable villain. Gokaiger-A lot of fan service, but weak villains. Magiranger-the second half really outshine the first. Abaranger-Abarekiller stole the show. Hurricanger-Nao is overrated, but the space ninja are interesting along with Shurikenger fanservice. Zyuranger-the only good thing is Burai's conflict and demise. Zyuohger-Not enough Bird and his build up is a let down. Goonger-Too silly, but can be entertaining. Boukenger-Not a very good anniversary series. Kakuranger-Creepy yokai and the story isn't that interesting. Goseiger-unlikable cast except for red & the villains are forgettable. Ninninger-Bland cast + annoying grandpa & boring villains. |
My Rank:
1.Timeranger 2.Gekiranger 3.Go-Busters 4.GoGo V 5.Abaranger 6.Gokaiger 7.Jetman 8.Zyuranger 9.Boukenger 10.Changeman 11.Dairanger 12.Liveman 13.Shinkenger 14.Megaranger 15.Turboranger |

1. Carranger - All hail the unexpected savior of the franchise. #minoruandsignalmanshokkaidoroadtripadventure #theshowwheretheredrangerisallthreestoogesrolledinone #pizza 2. Shinkenger - A modern day Japanese samurai folktale of a samurai lord and his vassals and a sushi chef. 3. Gokaiger - THIS. Is how you show love to the fans. 4. Kyoryuger - When put together they felt like they had some good chemistry going on. 5. Liveman - I really wish everyone had the chance to see this amazing show. 6. Turboranger - BEST SENTAI OPENING THEME EVER. The casting was great and they perfected the art of combination attacks. Plus, shows people why it is a good idea to configure your headquarters into [spoilers]Fortress Maximus[/spoilers]. 7. Megaranger - One of my favorite high school dramas. Timeless suit and robot designs, and one of my favorite tsuika senshi is in this show. 8. Ohranger - A throwback to early 80s sentai done well. Kickass suits. Despite its environmental limitations it pulled through. 9. Gekiranger - Best kung fu show ever. I felt that the staff really had fun making this show. 10. Timeranger - Kobayashi at her finest. And Time Fire is my favorite. 11. Dairanger - Awesome cast, awesome suits, and gave us the Cthulhu-equivalent DAI-FREAKIN-JINRYU. 12. Zyuranger - The show that brought us Power Rangers. 13. Zyuohger - Well-balanced show. Really awesome red ranger. 14. ToQger - The show that blew away our skepticism(mine at least) and came chugging along with both funny and heartfelt moments. 15. Kakuranger - Two words; KANE KOSUGI. |
This would most likely be my order at the moment:
Dai Kaku Zyu Geki Car GoGoV Aba Jet Time Gokai Ginga Mega Hurri Gao Oh Live Mask Bio Shinken Magi Zyuoh Go-Busters Bouken Five Deka Kyoryu Turbo Go-On Nin ToQ Gosei Quote:

1. Gekiranger - Best villains, amazing story, enjoyable heroes, and awesome action! It's no contest my favorite Sentai!
2. Kakuranger - Hilarious heroes that learn to get serious. Just super enjoyable with great designs 3. Dairanger - Pretty solid with a great cast. Awesome martial arts action, which I can't get enough of 4. Zyuohger - While it lacks a compelling story, it makes up for with memorable and easily lovable characters that I just want to see more of! 5. Jetman - Nice characters and cool villains! The only thing it really lacked was an ongoing story. 6. Gokaiger - A great anniversary that kept you entertained from start to finish! 7. Megaranger - Entertaining, if a little bland. However, bonus points for having one of the most memorable mentors! 8. Goseiger - A neat show that decides to have 4 different climaxes, because why not? 9. Dekaranger - A cool change of pace! 10. Gingaman - Another show that's a little bland, and honestly only cracks the top 10 because I haven't seen many others :lol 11. Kyoryuger - The costumes are neat, but it suffers from an insufferably perfect lead. |
This will be easy.
1. Go-Busters 2. Zyuohger It's a very long list but I put a lot of thought into it. |
1. Dairanger
2. Kakuranger 3. Jetman |
Some of you guys really need to see more series. :lol

This'll be easier than the Kamen Rider list as I feel a lot more confident to rank shows I haven't finished. There are a few that I won't put on here just because I feel my view isn't complete enough to judge. This list will not include Kyuranger because I literally can't make up my mind on it (which isn't a good sign now that I think about it...).
Best to Worst: 1. Gokaiger - The show where everything clicks. Every single thing. Great Rangers, great action, always enjoyable to watch. Bonus points for a lot of returning actors/characters that do more than just a cameo. 2. Go-Busters - The 360 degree series. It starts great, then Toei retooled it and it sucked, then once Toei quit caring the show throws an awesome twist that makes the sucky part worth it. Plus, it made me give a damn about Jinga. 3. Kakuranger - Hardcore otaku goodness. It's full of wacky fun characters and "do it anyways" stunts that didn't look good even it was made. Bonus points for the fansub notes that are normally just as interesting as the episode. Kind of wish the Shout DVDs came with a book or something on the Yokai. 4. Jetman - A great cast (mostly), with great villains (mostly), and great story (mostly). The "mostly" are why it's not higher. Either way, Gai is worth it alone. 5. Zyuranger - I like seeing Western mythology through the eyes of another country. Bandora is Machiko Soga at her best. 6. ToQger - Never thought I'd like the train Sentai, but I do. Solid character writing and a good mid series twist makes for a good show. 7. Shinkenger - Same as ToQger and only lower because I like ToQ6 more than ShinkenGold. 8. Zyuohger - The likable show that's by no means the best or the worst. Leo might be the best Male Yellow though. 9. Dairanger - I argue with myself on this one all the time. On the one hand, it has really good characters with arcs. On the other hand, those arcs build to a climax that just fizzles out and is one of the worst endings because of it. I'm putting it in the middle because of that. 10. Gingaman - Only this low because I haven't finished it and at this point, I think I'm going to wait to see if Shout releases DVDs (which is likely now). It's like Lost Galaxy, but not in space and not sloppy. 11. Fiveman - Pure insanity. My favorite one off episode of Sentai of all time is episode 4 "Get the Earth Drunk". It's only this low because so little of it is subbed. 12. Bioman - If Fiveman is pure insanity, Bioman is watered down insanity...but still insanity. If nothing else, if you ever wanted to see a so bad it's good Ranger death, just ask Old Yeller Four. 13. Megaranger - Didn't watch more than 5 or so episodes, but liked what I saw. Just haven't gotten back to it and waiting for DVDs. 14. Gekiranger - This is one of the shows I might try again one day, but just didn't feel it when I tried before. Jan doesn't help this show, but in highlight there is much worse. So much worse. 15. Ninninger - Red Ninger. Goddammit. 16. Kyoryuger - Only lower than Ninninger because I ignored the warning signs and kept watching a bit longer than I should've. Also, Riku Sanjo and Koichi Sakamoto should never be allowed to run a show together. 17. Akibaranger - I like to think that Toei is ashamed of this one seeing as it's never alongside the rest of Sentai in crossovers. Even the ones with the likes of Shin and Amazons that are very much adult aimed characters in a kids movie. Anyways, I've come to accept that Akibaranger is not for me, but was aimed at me. It's a raunchy comedy that's so very much not what I want from a Sentai aimed a adults. 18. Dekaranger - I talked about this in another thread recently and don't feel like repeating myself. It's a topic on the worst Sentai. |

Blade, I wish even there was just a book in general on the Youkai from Kakuranger and how they are viewed in society then and now. I am quite intrigue by the different little creatures Japan believes to exist be it the Kamatachi, Gashudokoro, to the current stuff about a woman wearing a mask (sounds like someone just go drunk and saw Mileena from MK).

I have a long list too:
Dekaranger Abaranger I swear I am going to watch some more Sentai after KR Black/Black RX. Even if it is going to be Ninninger... I lost a bet okay?! |

This took me a while - I knew what my top 6-8 & bottom 6-8 were pretty easily it was the middle that I reordered several times. I'm also trying not to be swayed by a series just because I saw it more recently than others.
Shinkenger - my first sentai and still the best Gokaiger - I waited almost 3 years to watch this after watching Shinkenger & Goseiger since I wanted to know who the Gokaigers were turning in to and absolutely loved this series - wish it could have been twice as long Gekiranger - i completely underestimated this series. Not a fan of the suits but pretty much everything else was very, very good Dairanger - great theme, great team Liveman - love the character arcs for the heroes and the villains Jetman - mature storytelling Go-Busters - wasn't sure I was gong to watch it at first but then really like it more and more as the series went on - a series with real consequences for the characters Goseiger - my 2nd sentai and a unique theme Gaoranger - the animal theme and constant build up of their arsenal makes it a favorite Kakuranger - once I got used to the live narrator and pop art fights, I really liked this series, great female leader Magiranger - another great family series and that final run of episodes is epic Abaranger - one of the best episode 1 of all of sentai GoGo V - great family series and like the theme a lot Dekaranger - really like the team, mechs, support but the lack of a big bad brings it down for me Gingaman - love the backstory and the brothers' story Boukenger - it took me a few episodes to get into it but I really liked the team once I got their dynamic Hurricanger - For me it took a little too long for the teams to come together but overall good Zyuohger - a great time with a not so great big bad. Literally all the other villains except the big bad were very good Maskman - I really dug the whole mystic vibe Ninninger - the first sentai I watched as it came out. I like it but now that I've seen more I see how much better sentai can be Carranger - I appreciate it much more than when I first saw it and liked it more as the series went on. Megaranger - just meh for me, it's OK Bioman - my first complete early Sentai, nice but dated and the way the uniforms faded towards the end of the season showed they didn't care very much Zyuranger - just not a fan Ohranger - wasted promise Go-Onger - couldn't make it through the season - liked Silver & Gold though And I love Akibaranger but it's not official but would be in my top 10. |

Zyuohger return and the 2 Dekaranger movies are coming out next month. I wish they have done Magiranger this year. Magicyellow is still very active in toku Also, I'm hoping to see a Akibaranger v-cinema movie on its 5th anniversary next year. Wow Time Flies. Either that or a rider version of the show. |
The only ones I've seen all of are Zyuranger, Jetman, and Ninninger...and I think I'd probably rank them in that order.

I was already following this forum for some time but only now I made an account.
This year I returned watch super sentai, I had stopped watching in 2014. This year I've seen several series, so I'll put my list of shows I've seen. The Top is in order of the series that I liked more for the series that I liked less, the series that are in the last positions do not mean that I did not like it, I just liked less but until today I have not seen a series that I found bad. Magiranger Gokaiger Go-buster Timeranger Gekiranger Toqger Dairanger Abaranger Gingaman Kyoryuger Dekaranger Shinkenger Hurricanger Liveman Goseiger Jetman Carranger Ohranger Gogo Five Megaranger Turboranger Go-Onger Bioman Boukenger Zyuranger Nininger Zyuohger Gaoranger Sun Vulcan Kakuranger Battle Fever J |
