Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 33- "Company Reorganization!" Discussion
The power of Kamen Rider Chronus has completely overwhelmed the CR Team. even Para-DX is no match for him.
Hiiro meanwhile has learned of another Proto Gashat that may contain data for the humans lost to Bugstars. Could it still be possible to recover them?! As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Cronus killed Salty, UNFORGIVABLE!!!! :(
Today's episode was pretty decent, Emu and Kuroto working together and was THIS close to disable Cronus's power via Reprogramming, but everything failed and friendship ruined thanks to Proto Drago Knight Hunter Z gashat. |
so... hero is gonna become "hero" next ep... such a hero action ' 3' - well, can't blame him ..
|
People are joining and switching sides every episodes now. lol After all the teasing, a special someone will be back next week.
|
If Hiiro didnt interfere with the plan, they would able to retrieve all proto gashats from Cronus, possibly send Cronus back to Jail
not just DKHZ |
Aw.....Hiiro in Cronus side really remind me to Sakuya Tachibana (Garren) when Sakuya in Yoshito Hirose'side (Shiori Hirose's father) from BOARD Organization.

Why do I get this nagging feeling that Hiiro is going to pull a Meteor and use Taddle Legacy to kill Emu? I mean, it's level 100 to Maximum Mighty X's 99, so it feels specifically designed to beat it.
Does anyone find it funny that Masamune's ultimate evil plan thus far can literally be summed up as "Localize Kamen Rider Chronicle"? Also, it there more to Hiiro's betrayal than just getting back the Proto Gashats or something? I mean, it could just be that, but Emu already assured him that they'll try to get them back and all. Though I guess that it's possible that Masamune just put a killswitch in the Proto Gashats to ensure Hiiro's cooperation or something. We didn't necessarily see how the meeting with him and Hiiro ended after all. |

I like how the relationship between Kuroto and Masamune can basically be summed up as "Kamen Rider EA exploiting Kamen Rider Bioware".
I'm absolutely loving how much Ex-Aid is really pushing the video game theme for its narrative. You've got the devs like Kuroto who genuinely want people to enjoy the game, the tournament players like Emu and Nico, the actual video game antagonists like Pallad, Graphite and Poppy and then the publishers like Genm Corp with its corrupt CEO that merely sees video games as a way to profit. It's why I love this series so much. It really feels like everything is centered around the video game industry to some extent, and isn't just a typical Kamen Rider show. |
Not a whole lot of action this episode, but the character interactions were great. Not sure how I'm supposed to feel about Hiro's betrayal. I'm really hoping there's something more to it, otherwise it just makes him seem incredibly short-sighted. Not to mention Level 50 Brave somehow swatting Level 99 Ex-Aid out of a Critical Finish when Para-DX could only futilely paw at him a few episodes prior. Hope it all gets explained next episode.

Ghost levels of bad writing with Hiiro. Hoping there is more to his betrayal, cause wow.

Hiiro's betrayal kinda makes sense to me, he wants Saki back, Masamune will just give him Saki if he joins him instead of having to beat the guy who can kill you in less than a second |

Not only does that mean Saki, but everyone who got a game over. |

I wonder if that actually inspired his character in some way. I would'nt be surprised with the overt and subtle video game references they keep weaving in. I'm glad to see the shift back into Video Games as I remember we had at least 8 episodes about doctors in which the series forgot the other half of its theme. |
So it seems like Genm Corp. moved into the now former offices of the Kougami Foundation. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Look, Ex-Aid, while certainly not perfect, has at least explained their seemingly bad decisions to make sense of them pretty much every time thusfar. Typically, when we're not shown an otherwise important chunk of information, it's for dramatic purposes and we get the rest of that scene in the following episode. There's no reason to believe this development will be any different. |
That was such a great moment when Emu and Kuroto came up with a way to stop Cronus. The part where Hiiro turned on them was probably the most infuriating moment of this entire show.
|
Lol with this episode did dan the man just step in become 2nd rider of this series :D because that's the way i see it and its kinda ironic when we think about it, dan resurrect but become ally while kiriya resurrect as an enemy, i always though other way around :D

it's almost like when go had no choice to join the villians to get banno because he knows he has no chance of beating the main villians, if he did, he wouldnt join them. it's called using your head and not being reckless. |
Well first, we don't know the entirety of Hiro and Masamune's conversations. Second, even without that information, I think it's still logical to assume Brave's state of mind regardless. Cronus is just too damn powerful. He can too easily completely erase Saki's data if Hiro even so much as attempts to double cross him. The "big picture" doesn't matter, because Masamune's threats are immediate. Even if they get rid of his pause ability, he's still a strong opponent. He could easily escape and delete as much data as he wants. Even if they remove his ability to transform entirely, so far they can't pin anything on him as the CEO of GENM. The ministry of health is clearly unable to shut down the corporation for one reason or another, and now they can't apprehend him for the same crimes he was charged with years ago either. He gets away scott-free and is able to make Hiro suffer either way.
If Hiro wants to save his girlfriend above all else, he really has no other choices here. |

i think kamen rider poppy not showing up has alot to do with that she's not as powerful as most riders to take on the stronger busters/rider forms, that also applies to nico as well, they can only take on the lower level bugsters.
i mean you saw kamen rider poppy fight pardo, she had no chance against him even emu doesnt want her fighting any bugster that's stronger than her, that's how much emu cares about poppy. it's just more of a plot thing than a personal thing against kr poppy. |

At least that's my in-show explanation for it. The real reason is probably, as someone said, possibly only having one version of the Bugvisor Zwei or they can't spare the suit actors. |
Really love the Cronus pause effect . Very interesting with the bugster not being immortal any more. Cant wait for the next episode with the return of Kiriya.
|
Hiiro noooooooooooo! I definitely agree with the general consensus that Masamune is threatening to destroy the Proto Gashats or something similar to keep Brave under his control. Instead of being short-sighted, he's probably actually playing the long-term game by at least temporarily joining Masamune, even if he TOTALLY undermined what could be their only chance to reprogram Cronus's pause ability. We'll probably find out within a few episodes. In other news, Masamune might end up as one of my favorite KR villains, his sheer calculated ruthlessness gives me chills. Also quite enjoying the plot with the Bugsters, who now face the possibility of death at any moment.
Next episode looks super good, as usual. Can't wait to seem Emu get traumatized by the bikeman again. |
I love how some people think that Brave's turning won't be given more of an explanation later on. :lol
That was a good episode, but I'm super salty about how openly people are talking about kiriya coming back. I had it spoiled before THIS episode was even subbed, and it hasn't even happened yet... |

Not sure how to feel about this one. It's a heel turn that some saw coming, others didnt. Masamune is just beast mode. Kuroto is the kind of comedic prop that isn't so over the top like Hiiro's father, but still achieves.
Emu finally gets to act like the 'genius gamer' he is. Although at this point Nico could probably just get it as well and be fine. I don't think it's bad writing. It's.....again a mixed bag. |

Man, Ex-Aid is definitely on another hot streak. Great episode. Except for every scene with traumatized Parad. Still majorly not cool. He must have inherited Emu's knack for getting kicked around by the narrative. Poor guy. I know he wants all of humanity dead in a sick and twisted game, but dang it, I just want to give him a hug anyway! :lol
Speaking of Emu's crap luck, despite getting some cool moments in here, Brave's betrayal now means there's literally not a single Rider in this entire show who's consistently been on his side. I mean, unless we count Nico, I guess? You know, the one who hates him? Well, at least he hasn't been beaten with a metal pipe for a while.... Also, "Genm Corporation is an ethical company." lolwut? Masamune might be crazier than Shin-chan ever was. And the thought of globally exporting KRC brings back up a bunch of questions I was happy to throw under the table. You see, they've kind of made it clear that it's not like every single person in Japan is playing it, and those who are generally have the explicit motivation of wanting to bring someone who already died playing it back to life, so that all checks out, but like, if it goes worldwide? So many questions. How is all the crazy crap going on in Japan being reported? Do people not care? Why would anyone want to play a game that's explicitly designed to kill you? How are you manufacturing all these Gashats? Why does anyone even work for Genm anymore when they're 3 for 3 on nutjob CEOs? Shouldn't this company's reputation be in the toilet? It's all just so confusing. Quote:
Hiiro's betrayal is comparatively nothing. Like, the odds are even good he's just doing some double agent crap, given his "evil actions" here consisted of saving Chronus without actually hurting anybody. Keep in mind, Hiiro, despite his demeanor, is pretty much the most ethical, morally responsible person in the entire show. This isn't a decision he would make lightly and I sincerely doubt a show like Ex-Aid would completely, willfully forget that just to force some drama. I'm sure whatever explanation we end up getting will make perfect sense, you just have to be patient. |

As for the people of Genm Corp it matters on how they are treated, the benefits, and the pay. Some people just need money. Though this makes me wonder what you get if you work for Shocker. They would great medical coverage, granted it will probably just be them turning you into a monster but still. |

What I love about these Rider War like seasons (mostly Ryuki and Gaim) is the change in allegiances, you never know what's gonna happen next. It's actually hard to hate on Cronus. Sure, he cares more about his products than human lives and his own family, but at the same time, he's willing to treat his allies fairly, as he believes hard workers should be treated with respect and should be rewarded for it. Anyway, I actually can't wait for the next episode.
