some folks are throwing around the name "Kamen Rider Cross." Big theory suggests series might be sports-themed as a warm-up for Tokyo hosting the Olympics in 2020.

Collector gimmick appears to be bottle-themed.

Those collectables sure do look like sports drink bottles. However, that one pointy part on the chest reminds me of a pen so I am open to the possibility of those collectables being ink bottles.

The design looks asymmetrical. I wonder if each side will change independently, like W (or if, like W, it's another 2-in-1 Rider). If it's legit, of course. It could be interesting and the sports thing makes sense, methinks.

Ha! Those bottles could be bingo daubers. For every enemy he defeats a number appears and if he gets five in a row on the Driver, Bingo! Henshin! :D

According to Akki News, the collectibles are called 'Kamen Rider Capsules' - make of that what you will.

Kamen Rider Capsules... Maybe this show will be like Ultraman and have previous heroes as the main collectible rather then just a subline.

The silhouette looks similar to a more classic Rider design, I like it so far. Also I don't really care about gimmick any more ,two shows who at first seemed to have terrible gimmicks ( Gaim and EX Aid) turned out to be great.

Thing is though 2017 is not really a milestone year per se for Kamen Rider unless you are a Den-O fan.

You're right, it isn't. Which makes the Showa-y silhouette and the gimmick being 'Kamen Rider Capsules' extremely weird.

Water bottles? Fuck it, hope it's legit as I want to know how that'd work

This will be very interesting. I love his design has similarities to Kamen Rider W.
The sports theme will be really cool too.
Maybe the Rider will has his own Rider Gashat too like Kaigan Ghost Gashat in Dr. Pac-Man Movie.

I'm calling it now, monster and soda theme.

Yeaaah, I kind of feel the same way if that is the case. On the other hand, it could be kind if cool if it was more themed around the Olympics than just sports in general. Imagine a curling themed Rider form!

Hmm I don't know how I would feel about this.

Someone I follow said that the rumors they've seen/heard are going on about it being based on old tech. Thought that was a bit too odd so I told them about what we've heard/seen.

So we would go from Video Games to Sports. I find that rather interesting.

From indoor activities to outdoor activities.

Not to mention 'Kamen Rider Capsules' doesn't exactly scream sports.

Video game cartridges don't exactly scream doctors and locks (or lock seeds) don't exactly scream samurai. The two things don't always make sense.

I'm not saying anything of this is true, but just because the ideas don't necessarily mesh it doesn't mean they won't do it.

It looks like a cross between G and W to me.

Kamen Rider Gone Wild?

People thought the same thing about Ex-Aid because the collectibles are called "Rider Gashats," but that wasn't really anything. It just means they're meant to be used by Riders. Doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Anyway, at this point I'm not really buying any of this, but if true I guess it sounds ok.

If they are ink bottles maybe it can be about books

Capsules? If it is a sports theme then the "capsules" will be drugs. Maybe even a suppository. :p

But seriously if it is a sports theme one I doubt it would be for the Olympics. I do like the literature idea and the capsules being ink bottles. If we could figure out what Cross means it might give us an idea like Ex-Aid has aid in the name so medical stuff.

I just hope whatever the theme is, I take to the suits more than I did Ex-Aid. :/ Would help in getting started on the show sooner anyway.

This is a good point, honestly. It could just mean it's another multi-rider show from the get-go...which'd make sense for a sports theme - competing athletes.

This. I goddamn love Ex-Aid, but I still hate most of the suits.
