Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 39- "Goodbye, Me!" Discussion
Cronus has a new target: Parad! If he is destroyed, the link with Emu will be severed and Ex-Aid can no longer transform. But if he lives, the Gemdeus virus will cultivate & endanger thousands...
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
So Parad is like, ded. Buuuutttt, when he is disappearing, there is no Game Over, or Game Clear, and before the battle he talked with Graphite something about his Bugvisor, maybe he saved his data there?
Next episode's english word is "reboot", not to mention the preview pics on official page includes not only Hyper Muteki but also both of Mighty Brother XX. Emu's actor got flowers. Child Emu's actor, to be exact. |
Any raws up?

I doubt Pallad permanently killed in this episode.....
Emu really cold in this episode..... Hmm....I feel Masamune will be killed in around episode 41.... Quote:

Emu is savage :U
|
Toei always like to do spoilers on next episode. When all wonder whether Emu can henshin anymoreafter K.O. Parad at this episode, next episode preview shows Emu can henshin. Maybe Toei was purposely did this to show that main character unbeatable 'crown' ? Most important question is how Emu do it ?
A) Power of Mighty Brothers XX? Or B) Power of Paja Magic? |

Is it wrong for me to feel sorry for Parado the whole episode? Emu beating him down like a bully was just sad to watch.
He is probably not dead. Gamer M is technically Parado so maybe Emu will use MBXX to reboot the M persona into Parado since he was able to transform into Muteki in the preview? After the fight, Parado will just separate from Emu like last time. but seriously, I felt they revealed too much in the preview. |
Holy crap emu is so savage in this episode... :O
and poppy is tremble in fear what are you doing emu :O yeah the preview is really ruin it Toei.... at least show the clip where there is no hyper muteki that is my complain... |
We saw some sides of characters we've never seen before in this episode. That really awkward conversation between Hiiro and Taiga with them being polite to each other. Parado having that mental breakdown and Emu being careless and a total savage. Parado's death was actually pretty sad even though he was an annoying character.
I can see the show is already getting ready for the movie with that phone call Cronus received about the Gamer Driver. |

It seems Johnny Maxima is main villain along with Kamen Rider Fuma. In my opinion, Johnny Maxima's philosophy is really arrogant. |

I think the part that shook me the most was Parad beginning to just warp away when Emu just uses his invincibility to just drag Parad back to the battlefield. It's like, oh my goodness the warp did not work this time.
|
Not gonna lie, Emu Teleport-Denying was a highlight for me.
"None of that, we're ending this boss battle now!" |
Oof. This episode hurt to watch. Parad's a villain I enjoy, and seeing him lash out in fear and act so... Unlike himself. It sends chills down my spine. These actors all deserve medals for their amazing performances

One character that definitely stood out to me (besides Pallad and Emu) this episode was Kuroto.
His mindset is so warped and I love it. He spent the entire series finding ways to cheat death and now as a result, he treats death as completely inconsequential, even if it means coming back as something that isn't human. He even presents the argument that a lot of people have made towards the show where he basically says "Death's not that bad, we can just bring you back anyway". But then it's countered by everything we see going on throughout the episode. Emu, Pallad, Nico, they ALL fear death. Even if you can be brought back, the whole process of dying is not necessarily something you want to go through. |
Good lord, forget punching Kiriya in episode 35. This is the moment Emu finally snaps from all of the beat downs the show has put him through.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So does the fight in this episode mean this scene is officially canon: http://daisukitoku.com/wp-content/up...ons-ex-aid.jpg Because seriously, the way Emu just held onto Parad and kept punching him for a solid minute, along with the episode ending on Emu reaching out and trying to crush Parad's digital heart felt like they just decided use the script from an cut Amazonz episode. |

http://www.nuchan.net/archives/23769215.html Ex Aid ends at episode 44 Build starts on September 3 |
Well that neatly explains why Ex-Aid's canon ending is its film.
|
woah that would make Ex-Aid the shortest series of the Heisei Era for now. Well, its good i guess since any longer than that it could get draggy? xD

Hmm....I hope Ex-Aid final episodes will not rushed. If Ex-Aid end in episode 44, it will be aired in August 20, 2017. Maybe Ex-Aid will be has epilogue episode in August 27, 2017 (probably crossover with Build). |

when i think shortest before this...it always Gaim. |
Going out of the topic a little, Snipe Episode Zero special episode 2 is up on the internet for those who don't know. You may try to find it in many webs since it's not pretty hard to find. Going back to the topic, I absolutely hate that whenever we actually get a good Rider series, the series isn't long enough. Ghost got a full 50 episodes and Ex-Aid won't be as long as that. It's a pretty shame. It was the same with Gaim since, excluding the Kikaider and the Soccer special, the series only has 45 episodes; just like Ex-Aid will. I just hope that Build will be good or at least decent enough to compensate Ex-Aid's shorter runs.
|
it says Build gonna appear in Ex Aid episode 44
but then What IF what if the ending of TV series is Bad ending ? they lose to Gemdeus, humanity get destroyed but that will be the background of Build , remember it says "The World get destroyed once " Build is Scientist while Ex Aid is Doctor, it seems related to me |

Plus, its highly unlikely Toei would do that to the kids - Kamen Rider is a kids' show remember. |
I want to be mad at this episode. Parad to me wasn't the opposite of Emu. He was the parts of Emu that kept him in check. And in the end, he just showed how afraid of being treated as nothing more than a piece of data he was. I was hoping his character would be that heel turn to join team CR. I was hoping that maybe we would have had a final battle in Mighty Brothers XX form to make it even. But Emu just demolished him.
The madness that is Masamune is so spectacular. I can not wait for him to get his final end. My last thought was an observation. The rooftop where Emu and Parad fight, whoever scouted that out is a genius. Look at the theme of the graffiti. Schoolkids playing but also a call to loss of childhood. |
Parad was my favorite character , sad to see him go , great episode with some great direction
|
He'll be back. Eventually.
|
^ I'd believe it. Because flowers don't count with this series.

I loved this episode, but I don't like where the show is going. Resetting everything and then giving us the ending through a movie sounds terrible.
I have faith in Ex-Aid since it delivered so much good stuff over the last year, but seeing it ending early and with a movie promising a "true ending" on the horizon - I just wish this show could've gotten 50 episodes and a rather unrelated movie. Anyways, what baffled me a little bit was how brutal Emu was. Maybe they explain that a bit better next week but he really seemed like the bad guy in this battle. It's not like Parad didn't deserve any of this but - I don't know. I wish Emu could've defeated Parad but instead of killing him they would join forever. Maybe that's what they did? Because there is an Ex-Aid in the next episode, so Emu must be able to transform again. |

With Kuuga, a monster literally forced students into suicide which was another dimension of brutality even for Gurongi standards, and it made Godai lose his shit. He was hella mad. But he later realized what he did and that it shouldn't happen again, I can't see that route being used with Ex-Aid, they're going for something different. Because Emu is just so cold and seems to know exactly what he is doing, and he even goes further, when he should instead see and relate to Parad's terror (which he kinda does). I don't know, it felt unnatural to me because the Emu I know would've tried to find a different way. Maybe that's what they are going for? Showing us a side of Emu we never knew could exist? But knowing that he will be able to transform next week again I'll say we're missing a puzzle piece. I don't think Parad is truly dead, maybe Emu only tried to teach him a lesson so they could cooperate, maybe even become one again. |
Now THAT'S the kind of drama I like! Seeing Parad be so utterly terrified was just heartbreaking, and to have Emu tear him apart like that was haunting. Seriously, that kind of scene is what you would expect a villain to do to a main Rider, not the other way around, it was INSANE. All the actors did an amazing job. I really doubt Parad is actually dead though, I suspect it was more like him and Emu became one again. Seeing Mighty Brothers XX show up again seems indicative of that.

How many times do I have to say it, Toei? Leave M alone! Just because he's bad at math doesn't mean you have to kill him off! Very, very, VERY well done episode, although it feels a little undercut by a couple things. This is going to sound more complainy than usual, but rest assured, I enjoyed this one a lot: - So, tell me, Chronus, if you've finally learned you can just shoot the transformation devices out of people's hands before they use them, why have you not tried this on Emu??? The only reason he was still able to transform during Muteki's debut is because he already jammed it in the belt and hit the switch by the time you Paused. It' really frustrating because, while Chronus is a cool villain on a lot of levels, huge swaths of his actions made no discernible sense to me. Like he makes Genm look sane. - And did they ever establish why he can't just erase Parad with his KRC Gashat the same way he can the other Bugsters? I'm not formally complaining about this part until someone can confirm or deny this because I've been known to forget details in this show. - And how is Emu supposed to kill Parad for you if Bugsters only permanently die when killed while time is Paused, anyway? It's been long established that death is cheap for them. - ALL that being said, at least they specifically stated that he's just toying with people by fighting them without Pausing! That's something! Although it just raises further questions about Masamune's personality and motives that I suspect I'll never get satisfying answers to. - Hiiro is adorbs. - All the character stuff with Parad here is just wonderful. - Oh no, Emu killed Parad. Except there was no tone destroying "Game Over" announcement, and Emu never talks or acts like that unless he's tricking somebody, and he transforms in the next episode, and there's a movie we still have to get to, and... - It's cool they were willing to show Emu in that light, though. I imagine that freaked out a lot of kids watching, and that's always a good thing in my book. - Not sure what Ex-Aid's sudden obsession with SYMBOLISM is, though, between Hiiro crying last ep and the whole drowning thing here. I don't remember this show ever being this melodramatic. - The action seemed nicer than usual. Parad and Chronus' little fight had a bit of unusual camerawork I liked a lot. Oh and this doesn't have to do with this episode in particular but am I the only one who doesn't see it as a big deal that Ex-Aid is getting cut "short"? 44 episodes doesn't seem that different to me from 47-48 like most shows that aren't Ghost and Wizard are. |

Yeah, I'm not too bothered by Ex-Aid being short either. The only thing that DOES bother me is the fact I will probably have to wait 5 BILLION YEARS (okay that may be a slight exaggeration) to watch the True Ending Movie, by which point in time I'll have probably forgotten everything.
|
Not sure I would call 44 episodes short really, especially since pretty much none of them are filler and the overall story has kept going all the time.
Unlike seasons like Wizard....Where 80% of the show is filler....And mayonnaise....Urgh.... |
