Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 45- "Endless Game!" FINALE Discussion
It all comes down to this!
The Gemdeus Pandemic has been halted, but Masamune still possesses all the powers of Cronus & is preparing to take down the CR Team for good. How will the Kamen Riders prevail against their greatest foe? As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Is there gonna be a discussion of the show itself now that it's over in about 10 hours or can we put our full and final thoughts in here?
|
Gonna miss this great show. Ex-Aid is the best for whole kamen rider series(IMDB 8.7) !
|
the detail of Kiriya doesn't like black coffee is brought up again. While it doesn't confirm Gorider is canon or not, I like little details being remembered.
Also Tsukuru is back!!!!!!! And is Genm Corp's first president with Actual Sanity. |
|
What a journey guys
|
Hmm...this really good final episode.
So...Emu can immune from Cronus's freeze ability because Emu's inner Bugster is awakened.. Our heroes in Level 2 fight is really cool to watch :D I didn't expect Masamune will kill himself after he defeated by Ex-Aid Level 2... Poppy and Pallad's revival is expected because they appeared in movie.. |
i think this is the first time since fourze we actually have an ending to the series without any 1 year later or rider specials.
|
So in Another Ending, Final Boss is KAMI
And whut about poppy and parado ? everything in god's palm, no worries guys lol. funny is Build want to collect data from ex-aid but got nothing and our kami got build's data :U |
I feel like we will be meeting with Masamune in the future later.
|
And so we come to the end of another year. And what an ending.
|
Excite! really gave us the final episode fast! It even melted away my Kiva anger! I loved the ending, the fight itself was awesome and they handled the people who had been erased excellently. I had been wondering for a long time if they would really just revive everyone or if all the lives would somehow be lost. It really never dawned on me that there was another option! I thought it really worked well with the show on a thematic level. The general idea of struggling on and standing by the patients, hoping one day for a cure was great. It was also fun to see where all the characters are now, and one can't help but be proud of them after their rough and bickering start.
I really loved Ex-Aid, it was a wonderful show to have as my first Rider watched weekly. I liked the characters a lot, since they were a rather fresh take on one of these multi-rider shows. At the beginning many of them seemed really bland, but by the end I loved almost all of them. Emu was a really cool protagonist, I liked how he was a well meaning, but occasionally rather manipulative person. He felt very real to me. Hiiro was also a unique take on the typical edgelord secondary Rider, since he was really, really bad at being aloof and emotionally disconnected. Of course, who doesn't like Taiga and Nico's fun and cute interactions! Team Bugster wasn't left out either, with Poppy being one of my favorite female characters in Rider now, and Parad is also very cool. The plot was certainly a hot mess at times, and it honestly had so much content in it that it could probably be 3 separate shows, but it was very compelling and I would love to see this writer again! I'm torn about where I want to rank it, either right above or right below Gaim, but I'm not quite sure yet. Goodbye Ex-Aid! Hello Build! |
It was a great show, the best since Gaim for me and IMO the second best post-Decade show. It was just really good all around, and I think the ending fits. The transition to Build is also rather neat.
Now on to the V-Cinema movies! And Build I guess. Please, just be half as solid as Ex-Aid was and I'm good. |
The only thing I didn't like about the ending is it kind of seemed like...they're back at the start. The game illness is still out there, there's just less psychopaths trying to manipulate it now. Then again, if they 100% got rid of the illness, we wouldn't be able to have Parad and Poppy back, and we'd also lose Kuroto and Kiriya.
I'm also a bit confused. Didn't Dan Masamune delete Saki's backup data? And wasn't the whole point of his "suicide" to delete all of the other backup data? That's what the long speech he gave before doing it seemed to be about...yet, all of the backup data proto gashats were there in that case. What happened? Overall, I'm satisfied with Ex-Aid. Out of what I've seen (Drive, Ghost, Ex-Aid, and half of Kiva) it's easily my favorite. I'm sure I won't have anybody questioning that :lol |

Speaking of which, Saki's data was presumably restored thanks to the Reset, though that's only speculation I suppose. |
God speed Ex-Aid. I'll see you next time when True Ending comes out! Such a great show. Sadly Build has quite a bit of pressure, but hopefully Build will be fine!
|
I love how this felt like a bad ending to a video game.
|
I like how, even though it's reeeally redundant, Parad being revived was almost kind of foreshadowed with Emu killing Parad the first time. And also somehow completes Parads character arc, having him learning from his whole self-sacrifice thing. It's weird how this show can make the most contrived things interesting, cause I know I should be hating the fact that he was killed then revived, then killed again then revived. But I still got feels from him and Poppy.
I also liked how they only spent half the episode on the final battle, and really fleshed out the post-plot character stuff. I was seriously laughing at how awesome some characters' plots resolved, especially Niko. Emu especially shined with the heartwarming stuff, having said as many names as he could in his speech. Although, now I'm wondering about Hiiro. Yeah, it may have just been him moving on, but it could have also hinted about her data having been restored by the reset. I mean I could be reaching, but apparently it was supposed to be common knowledge that Poppy was a Bugster and not some data-construct/bugster knock-off. Overall, a great end to a fantastic show. Has it really been a year? So much stuff has happened between the first episode and now. Seeing some clips of early episodes, it almost feels like a different show. And I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, here's hoping Build doesn't gets crushed under the post-good-series expectations. |

Aggghhh I wanna do some big write-up about how cool this episode was or how great the show is (or make snide, bitter remarks about how Ghost had fewer fake-out deaths than this show) but I'm too busy being sad for any of that! Well I mean I kind of just did the Ghost bit, but still!
Maybe I'll pop back in here later to make a nice, proper post, but fortunately, even if I don't, the good news is Ex-Aid isn't done by a long shot, so I don't have to say goodbye yet. "THE GAME IS FOREVER", indeed. |
Seeing in the sub definietaly improve experience at first its kinda weird that emu able to move during pause but now that i think about it chronus ability might be suffer from pallad's sacrifice but still doesn't explain emu's driver breaking punch though.. :D
To me this ending is the normalest ending to me giving a hope for future movie releases and i hope it didn't suck still waiting to true ending movie... Overall i like this series the scene is awesome, the character is all likeable, the rider really don't have much form like other neo-heishei rider IMO which i like and that make the form have more meaning ,even though i acknowledge Lv 3 form is forgoten form. The final arc that somewhat lackluster IMO and yes i still questioning why the heck poppy not transforming often at least marika transform often even though died in the end. I give it 8/10 score its still enjoyable series and make me fan of KR again KR build i am not really that hype because it have to much form already which is remind me of Drive and Ghost and that is kinda terrible because i know it will be forgoten later on the episode |
Ex-Aid is officially my favorite Kamen Rider series now that it has ended. Really great ending to this story. Only one problem though. This is very trivial but during the final fight how was Lazer in Level 2? Also Cronus said they're all in Level 2 but Genm was in Level 0. That's just my OCD and my nitpicking. Still a great ending regardless.

I'm not going to lie though, I'm already whipping myself into a frenzy with Build excitement at this point. :lol |
Ex-Aid ended on a high note and now I'm already anticipating Build. If Build can only be close to as good as Ex-Aid was, I will be so happy.
|
That was a great finale, now why don't we have Ex-Aid season 2? I need more! This series was something amazing.
|
I love how Ex-Aid has multiple endings like a game.
We have the Good/Normal ending which is the series. The True Ending for the movie and now the Alternate Ending in the V-Cinemas. Also, for a final form, Hyper Muteki was not used for the final episode lol. |
Ex-Aid already reach to final episode but I still curious about some things:
- Emu's parents. Maybe not really important to story but I really want they reveal Emu's parents in upcoming Ex-Aid V-Cinema. - Masamune's full past especially scene about when he inject virus to his body. Also I really want to know about what motivated him to reach his goal. - Potential Level 1 and Level 2 (potential new Riders) from supporting Gashat like Gekitotsu Robots, DoReMiFa Beat, Jet Combat, Shakariki Sports, and Giri-Giri Chambara. - Foundation X next plan after they obtained Night of Safari Gashat. I hope Foundation X will be involved as main villain in upcoming Ex-Aid V-Cinema. |
I was wondering, does anyone know the name of the music that plays during the ending, where it's a reprise of EXCITE.
|
This was an excellent series. Sure it started out on a juvenile tone and the suits were not the traditional Rider designs, but I liked it the more it progressed and more serious it got, loved the twists and fight scenes and overall an exciting series from beginning to end.
Now we wait till Build and how it'll fare. |
I held back on last week's episode and watched both it and the finale today. I really liked the ending. It is a bummer that Ex-Aid is over*, but it ended on a real high note. Dan Masamune may go down as one of my favorite Rider villains. He was a great combination of utterly detestable, incredibly powerful, and amazingly resourceful. I can't remember the last time Kamen Rider gave me a villain that inspired so much legitimate hatred in me.
I'm glad that we'll be getting more Ex-Aid projects next year. This is definitely a show that I want more of. The suit designs never really grew on, but I absolutely love the world and characters. *-ish |
Yay a semi happy ending! But you must watch the movie to get the super secret happy ending!
Gotta admit, I was very suspicious based on the suit designs when the series started. But with every episode, it made it's way to my top of the list. Top ten in my book: Ex-Aid Gaim Blade W OOO Drive Wizard Faiz Ryuki Agito Excellent pacing, writing, character development, and carefully planned upgrades made this a win for this season. 10/10. |
