I feel like of all the Gaim actors, I am least surprised it was they guy who played Ryoma who would do something like this. Talk about undermining yourself with that drunken move.

You know this makes that scene where Mitchy foolishly leaves him alone with Mai near the show's end disturbing. Glad his career's pretty much over cause of this.

The funny thing is, out of all the GARO "Ryuga line" series characters, you would expect Aguri to be the last one to do something like this (Takeru, on the contrary...).

Uh ... no. Most people who drink alcohol don't go assaulting people. Even the drunk ones. All alcohol does is impair judgement and loosen inhibitions. If someone does something terrible while drunk, they're usually not good people when sober either.

It's disappointing but, as much as I enjoyed Duke/Ryoma, I'm not going to attempt to defend Tsunenori's actions.

I definitely feel that as a tokusatsu fan, you sometimes must separate your enjoyment of an actor in their role from the actual actor. This is certainly not the first time something like this has happened to a well-liked actor and we don't HAVE to defend them, but we can also still enjoy the show just fine. Remember when the guy who played Super-1 told his fans he was in desperate need of money and then ran off with the cash? We can still enjoy Super-1!

It's kind of in the same category of people who seem to think that if they want something, it MUST be a good thing that is good for them, screw what anyone else says.

It was more a general complaint about a meme, the actual idea proposed by Dawkins, that I see going around rather than a direct defense of the guy.

It doesn't matter if he was in his right mind, he did something that is unacceptable. If this was "Aoki shot a guy in self defence" then he'd still get arrested but there's a layer of sympathy. But no. He groped a woman's breasts and grabbed her with such force she got hurt. We aren't 'bullying' someone for this, he did a terrible thing and he deserves what he has coming to him. You can't compare this to someone who has enough constraint.

You're acting like that excuses any of it. He should have known to drink less, could have had someone hang out with him to keep him in check or ask for a taxi or some shit. What he did was terrible and again, no excuse. Because this isn't an excuse, it's a pitiful attempt which is the equivalent to "WELL YOU AREN'T A WRITER HOW DARE YOU SAY SWORD ART ONLINE IS BADLY WRITTEN" in this situation

Alcohol’s funny like that, often times you have no idea that you’re drinking more than you should. If you’re not capable of making that split decision to stop and keep stopped before you get too drunk, you will keep getting yourself drunker and drunker. It can get away from you very quickly.

All the drunkenness does is lessen his culpability for the offense. That’s it. It doesn’t absolve him.

Now this is getting me curious on how you all are when you are drunk.

I usually start eating bread and chicken until I sober up the second I feel mildly tipsy. It’s worked so far, especially since I don’t really drink to begin with and in the night of a wedding reception, I’ll down 7 drinks at roughly 1 an hour and with snacks in between.

I have, and the only person I've ever hurt while intoxicated was myself. Unless getting drunk enough on a completely empty stomach to pass out mid-sentence in front of others hurt them*. But I never once had the urge to hit anyone, grab anyone, assault anyone, etc. while drunk.

*Which resulted in me waking up in the hospital. So yes, I have made mistakes while drunk.

I wasn't pretending, I had vodka mixed with lemonlimenade after trying some booze my brother got from the store. Just felt like a night I could get drunk.now I have to ask my friend what I did at a certain point since I was talking with her on the phone when my memory blacked out. And I never said the dude wasn't a bad guy hell I don't even know what the dude is like normally. Also how did I make you think that I don't think it was bad?
