This dude needs to go to an AA meeting or something. Seriously even if his career is tanked already he needs to stop chugging booze and seek help if he even wants a morsel of redemption as a human being.

Can they even sentence him to AA if all four cases of assault technically happened after the one time he drank too much?

This happened the same night as the first incident. It's not like he did it over the course of several nights. So don't go acting like he constantly gets drunk and does it. I'm still standing by him.

For about 10 years I played guitar for a living an a big city, (yes it was kind of awesome),...I know drunk, and I know debauchery.

I've never been so drunk or seen anyone else so drunk they sexually assaulted women.

The alcohol isn't his problem. It's not helping, but it's not his problem.

My apologies. The intoxicated part caught my eye first at the time I first was notified that I idiotically missed the part of him assaulting the victim and that these incidents were on the same night. Please forgive me.

But for real, I do hope he seeks some sort of counselling or help while he still can even if his career is over by now regarding his inappropriate behavior. Two reported incidents is already enough to piss off and disappoint fans, and I am certain we do not need a hat trick. Do hope he gets his act together and not repeat this mess ever again.

Yes, it could have been worse, but that still does not change the fact that what he did was disgusting and wrong. Nor should the fact that you like him as an actor change that either.
Just because something could have been worse does not mean what happened isn't still wrong, or should be brushed over, or make it even close to okay. And if saying that means I'm "on a high horse" then fine. The view from up here seems a lot better than the view from down there.

No, not even close. I'm not arguing all crimes are the same, or anything that character actually believed in. I'm saying that a crime that was committed is not magically nullified, or made any better, because "it could have been worse"

Did he commit a criminal act? Yes. Was his culpability in the criminal act lessened at all? Yes, he was drunk and impaired judgement lessens culpability in an offense. Does that mean he is absolved of the crime? Of course not. Does that mean he should be treated like a hardened serial rapist that openly admits to police interrogators that he thinks of women as nothing more than meat? God no! Is there a degree of justice that must be administered against his action? Yes, not only for the sake of justice but for the sake of mercy on him that he may be able to reform.

Drinking and driving isn't the same thing, with drinking and driving your senses get dulled entirely which means you can't see that well nor react as fast as you usually do. Go get drunk and walk on the straights, tell me how well it goes

Ok, real fucking talk time. I'm going to explain why I defend him and don't try to bury him like the rest of you self-righteous paladins. And this is probably going to go against site rules, but right now, I'm at a point where I'm tired of it all.

I, myself, am a victim of sexual assault. Rape to be exact. And it wasn't like date rape. It was full on getting beaten and held down. I had a knife to my throat at one point. I was 19 years old when it happened. I had my life destroyed. But I didn't let it destroy me. I didn't cry and whine. I didn't play the role of the victim. Sadly, the one thing I was never able to do was see a face to tell the cops.

So you better damn well believe me when I say that there are far worse things than being aggressively groped. I'm tired of everyone thinking that every kind of sexual crime is the worst damn thing in the world. Especially when all that happened was someone getting groped too hard and had a hand up their skirt. I defend him because I am a victim. Go ahead. Crucify me.

Last I checked Japan is extremely strict with crime, first degree murder is punished with the death penalty iirc so this means he's going to face a LOT of prison time

As much as we enjoyed his roles we have to face facts. Someone was harmed greatly by this and I feel Aoki will need to face the charges laid against him. There's no way around this; this is a matter of grave moral and safety urgency and it must be dealt with in a manner that ensures people are safe from Aoki acting out like this again.

It would almost be alright if he'd started 4 fights with people while drunk. That's almost normal.

But sexual assaults? Nope, not normal. I've known tons and tons of people that drank and no one ran around assaulting women.
