Baby Metal
I know I'm late to the party.
I like Jmetal, I like Band-Maid, Aldious, and DOLL$BOXX, but I always avoided BabyMetal because it seemed like such a gimmick, .. but it popped up today in a playlist I'd clicked on and had running while I was working, and I have to admit they're really good, gimmick or not. The band is incredibly good and tight, very precise. And obviously the girls work very hard to sing and have choreography for every song. Very impressed, they're very hard working and good at what they do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvD3CHA48pA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKwscPp1kLs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIKqgE4BwAY Someone told me about them over a year ago and told me they're 'Kawaii Metal' and I was just like, "Cute Metal? GTFO of here" Lol. I was wrong though, surprised it took me this long to actually listen to them. But the music is good and the choruses are catchy. Gimmick or not it's very well done and after watching a few videos I can see they all work very hard at what they do. I hope the little ladies are having as much fun as it seems like they're having. |
I ♥ BABYMETAL! Their songs are so cute and catchy.

yeah I've been listening to them all day. Kind of mad at myself for actively avoiding them.
I was very against them because they're a manufactured pop band, but I have to admit, they're a damn good manufactured pop band. |
And you left out one of their best songs ever!!! Allow me to fix the situation. LOL

Babymetal is amazing. Who would've thought that J-Pop and Metal could work so well? Glad you're interested in their music

I almost thought this was heavy metal for babies for a moment lol.

Ooh, well this is interesting.

Saw them live when they came to NY two or so years ago.
Absolutely loved it. Friend of mine was slowly turning me onto them, but seeing them in person made me a fan. Super fun show. |
They should get Jim Breuer on their future music videos as an elderly metalhead. :lolol

I was a real little kid when Thrash metal first popped up in the mid-late 80's, it was something my friends older brothers turned me on to. But I remember it being so energetic and full of fun. Anthrax, Metallica, Slayer, Exodus,..everyone was having fun. Then slowly through the 90's and into the 2000's music just became depressing as hell, not fun, and very derivative. And the music industry itself just sucks now and really only promotes the bands they create. It's very hard (or just impossible) for a band to form organically and gig and get a following these days in the US. Bars want DJ's, the Industry wants cookie-cutter acts they can create and control, and honestly the audience itself isn't all that great,..and a lot of people seem to prefer cover bands and tribute bands and don't want to hear original music. So when I found Band-Maid and DOLL$BOXX and Aldious I was really excited in a way I hadn't been feeling about metal for a long, long time. It was really fun stuff, and all those girls can really play and sing very well, and they write good songs. Then I finally gave BabyMetal a chance and one video led to two which led to like ten videos, ... and every video was just a whole lot of fun. Those girls are very good and very professional, and the Kami Band is just incredible. I love that every one of them is very good at their instrument. It's so nice to hear something that's new and fresh, catchy and memorable to your ears, incredibly HEAVY,...but at the same time it's rather joyous and a lot of fun. I'm about ready to buy a BabyMetal T-shirt which is about the highest honor I give a band. Wearing their schwag. Yup, they made a fan out of me. |
