Looks like Toei realized that everyone's attention this week is on Build's finale, so they decided to make this a clipshow (a good one) and save the Kairi-Keiichiro episode til next week

Only Keiichiro who transform into Ranger in this episode. I think this first LuPat episode when Lupinranger are didn't transform since episode 14

Lupinranger Vs Patranger, does not..... And by that I mean it is a typical recap episode with some positives here and there, but overall this episode is pretty flat.

It is good that X is clearly building up to a more joined team, but after this many episodes they really need to get on with it, it feels like the show has slowed down to a crawl, do not get me wrong as I still really like the show.

A stinking clip show. It had more of a plot then some clip shows, but was still nothing that special, except for confirmation that Noel is actively trying to keep both teams in play because he think they are necessary.

Sentai typically holds a clip show following a major change, such as the primary villain being defeated and a new one steps up.

I figured we'd get the obvious clip show following the teams finally joining together, and they reminisce on how much has changed between the start and now.

Instead, they decided to just have a clip show because...Because. I don't understand things.

I thought this was an amusing way to "hide" a clip show

honestly i prefer kyuuranger recap over this because atleast they had evil team(the comedic one anyway) in that episode

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if this was done to capitalize on the Build finale "Oh wow, Build's over, Hey, maybe I should watch this Lupinranger VS Patranger show, it's on right after the finale" and then a handy dandy recap to help new viewers. Dunno if it helps as from what I remember hearing, LvP's ratings are great, it's just that Toei cares about the toy sales

This episode had way more Beverly Hills Cop references than I ever expected to see in Super Sentai.

The thing is, it's Noel presence that keep the statu quo and prevent escalation between the 2 teams or the Patoren to discover the identities of the thieves. The plot will go nowhere as long as Noel keep its endgame for himself.

Yep, THAT was a good joke !

There were two good moments:

1. Keiichiro confusing Hilltop for Eddie Murphy.

B. Keiichiro going a bit beserk at the end when he gets his memory back.

I was honestly expecting him to have them meet up in order to unmask them, but nope, just bonding.

The Patranger should be VERY VERY curious now on why Noel invites the bistro trio.

A flashback episode. I personally hate this kind of episode. Keiichiro's crane is kind of odd it's just attached to his arm like megazord unlike Blade and Scissors. It seems Gauche is up to something.

Also, massive elephant in the bistro, but are we ever going to actually get to the plot of making this team strong enough to take on Zamigo? I feel like I'm getting bad KyuRanger flashbacks where they just tack on the entire premise to the last five episodes.

Yea, the Lupinranger bias is starting to pour on more....

Lupin Red bias not Lupinranger bias because Lupin Red always has new mecha while other Lupinrangers didn't has chance to uses new mecha in debut new mecha episode.

Trigger Machine Splash can be reclaimed by Patranger just like when they reclaimed Trigger Machine Biker in episode 6.

Also, in toy catalogue, Trigger Machine Splash are bascily more designed for Patkaiser especially because has Patranger symbol in head and left cheast and also has trigger:

what if the next episode are design to trick audience and the episode after that the trigger machine will go to patranger?

The trigger machine will end up in the Patranges' hands since it's their contribution to the final two mecha of the show.

I'm glad you are all managing to have more hope for the Patrangers than I at this moment.

Even if it does end up in the Patranger's hands, the fact the Lupins (apparently) get to use it first is kinda symbolic of the way the show goes - the Pats can't do or have anything cool without the Lupins showing them up, and, honesty? I'm kinda sick of it. I haven't felt this apathy since Ninninger.

I mean, I don't even mind if Lupin Red is the first one to use the Boost of the new Trigger Machine, but it's first debut as a mech really needs to be by Keichiro, because after Magic, anything otherwise would be way too blatantly unfair.

Well in the next episode Lupin Red and Patren Ichigou will fight agan maybe this time Patren Ichigou will win and it might lead to the Lupinrangers identity reveal

A lot of that has to do with the fact audiences and merchandise sales have been favoring Lupin. Patren Red in particular seems to not do that well with audiences, but part of that is the character build for the shift later. The other 6 seem to be doing fine overall, with sales leaning heavier on Lupin and Gold/silver as well as Kaiser X.

Lupin material in general seems to be selling faster and faster. Jackpot striker is mostly sold out. Kaiser X is getting rarer, Lupinkaiser is selling out. whereas Patkaiser is easy to come by.

There seems to have been a sales spike since Gold/Silver was introduced.

So when they released the silver and gold they got the silver and gold.

Likely will. It should start the trend of Lupin developing sympathy for the Patren like we saw at the end of the episode with LupinRed.

With likely setting it up in a way for the Patren to "reclaim" the mecha, but kind of an easy setup by the Lupin to give it back. So it either starts the friendship bonds as better frenemies, or done in a way for Patren Red to get a confidence boost after what happened this week.



And for those asking about a black or white ranger for the teams:

There likely won't be a LupinBlack. Patrenblack is a maybe.

There might be a LupinGhost and PatrenBlack added later, but it might be too late for that. Gold/Silver was picked to avoid doing a black and white Patren/Lupin, so it was chosen to do badge colors instead for the embodiment of the VS badges in how he switches sides.

So LupinGhost and Patrenblack may end up an after series thing, or dream sequence style thing instead(if they happen!). Too late in the development cycle for Mecha unless they are recolors of high selling ones, or quick retools like Jackpot Striker. There's also the color issue that Ghost is too close to silver's color, and Patren Black's only potential usage is the chief or sidekick robo.

But also doing a black tux thief is too obvious, and a white tux thief with monocle is too "Gentleman ghost" from batman/DC. (Though that's even more reason to do it! Since Batman is considered the "World's greatest detective" it'd make sense for a nod if legal would permit it or find a way to get it allowed without worry of getting sued.) Same as how Patren Black might lean too much on Batman too. So those two aren't likely, but they would be neat as later additions somehow for a random thing. If that's the case, he'd be a retool of Patren Red's car, so it's a batmobile nodding/homage head for PatKaiser.

And there's also the issue of how much the helmets and costumes will blend for Lupin or Patren because of the colors of the suits as is. So black is too solid black for the helmet visor to pop out like it should(so he may get a white helmet to black visor or inverted, but it does work with the detailing of the suit.

Black works for the suit of patren but not lupin(too solid black suit), and white works for lupin but not patren(too solid white suit).

So if those happen, it likely won't be until near the end of the series maybe, or an HBV after series or V-Cinema after series. But they were intentionally left out of the concepts early on because those two colors don't work with the suit designs that well and they wanted to avoid subconscious color coding of "Black = Thief" and "White = Cop". And swapping that, those were on the discard pile because of potential legal issues, but are on the table as possible because of how much Zi-O is leaning on Clock King batman stuff fine. So we'll see. Might be pushing it too much at too late in the cycle.
