Ghost probably got the most screen time and relevance to the plot if decade doesn't tops it next week. Time machine are too conveniently available to travel to both past and future. Time jackers over power clock up / freezing abilities could end the heroes. Kind of want woz vs them. It would be a nice change up considering all the watches out and we're probably done with formula. It wouldn't make sense for time jackers to keep up creating useless fodder puppet kings when they're already so powerful themselves at least for Schwartz. I guess decade can travel through time as well and control dimensions portals. Makoto is just there. 5 Ghost users in the ghost tribute. I honestly don't see a compelling story with ohma zio if they're not willing to go more serious in tone. Sougo need some childhood backstory for his dream that's kind of laughing gag ready to be ridiculed by normal folks in the series. Give him a mystical background or something to justify his dream and fighting prowess / competency. Looks like the last decade episode with be a mash between visiting the future as well.

Another good ep of Zi-o. I like what we got in the fight of 3 ghosts. I think that's a first time in the show.

Decade brings so much in just two eps to this show. It's what the show needs to get the plot moving a little better. His fight against Gates was kickass and he stick around for more.

Next ep is gonna be plot heavy and more decade. I glad were just about done with the rider watches eps so we can focus on Oma Zi-o. Also would like to get some back story about the time jackers.

The Ghost arc has been the best Zi-O has had to offer so far.

Despite Tsukasa's huge presence, it didn't take away from being a Ghost tribute through and through. Takeru played a major role in this episode and got a lot of screen time. He helped Sougo and even piloted the Time Majin to go back to 2015 and prevent the police officer from dying. Though Makoto just being in the past with no real explanation was a little random, it was such a joy to see both characters actually transforming and fighting as Ghost and Specter respectively: something we haven't seen in the show since the Ex-Aid arc. And we even got a mention of Akari and her shiranui particle blaster played a role. Add all this to Takeru's stellar interactions with Sougo and even referencing the idea of ghost's getting hungry from the show proper and we have the best and most faithful Rider tribute yet.

On the Decade side of things, we get to see him use a phase 2 Heisei Rider for the first time, and the ensuing three Ghost's fight was a pleasure to behold. It was also so nostalgic to see the classical dimensional gate effect used, and interesting that it allows Tsukasa to not only transcend dimensions but time as well. The scenes where he asks who Woz is addressing his speeches too and then promptly shutting him up were gold too. And of course, we get to see Tsukasa in all his cockiness showing up in the Clock repair shop to give Sougo a warning - that he will destroy this world - all the while stealing his food.

They nailed Tsukasa and I'm excited to see what role he will play going forward. The end of this episode makes it seem like he will be staying for quite some time.

Decade Armour's debut wasn't too strong since it had no emotional build-up but it did leave an impression. While the flat "card" face looks stupid, the way he utilizes other Rider's super forms is very cool. And the Heiseiber is an awesome weapon, albeit noisy as hell. I understand this was Tsukasa giving Zi-O a power-up to study him so it will presumably make sense in the scheme of things.

Overall, a stellar episode and I'm excited to see what comes next now that Oma Zi-O and Zi-O will be meeting face-to-face.

The spin-off episode brings back the classic pink VS magenta debate and the meme-worthy "Onore Dikeido!" I had a good laugh at that.

EDIT: There was so much in this episode that I forgot to comment on a few things. Firstly, the two v. two robo fight felt kind of unnecessary and out of place but it's cool to know they still have CG budget for stuff like this. Honestly it did not look too awful and they showcased Ex-Aid and Build Rider forms for the robots, which was awesome.

I really like how full-blown they are going with the Decade homage, right down to the eyecatch ending in a similar manner to how Decade episodes would end, albeit with the RideWatch instead of the Decadriver. Since Decade is getting such a big role and they are teasing a Decade vs Zi-O sort of conflict, I really hope they bring back Decade's OST. They haven't done that so far with other Legend's (aside from the one Team Baron dance track) for licensing reasons I assume, but they did it in the Wizard specials and that felt really special. If anything, just bring back the track "Parallel World" and possibly his main theme. I can't imagine a Tsukasa speech or classic henshin scene without them.

Having Decade show up reminds me of why Zi-Oh cannot hold a candle to Decade. Sougo is just too...meh compared to Tsukasa.

Decade may not be my favourite series, but at least Tsukasa was so charismatic compared to Sougo.

Time will change. I remember people disliked tsukasa mannerism as someone that tries to be cool, but to lazy to finish it unlike kabuto as well as not being as talented in acting or imitating the imagin personas. The biggest hate besides the plot and ending were him defeating all the riders In the summer Movie. Decade is still a meh character judging from how the actor seems uninteresting in his own interview. He's more enthusiastic about jinga since its more than voice over and suit actors. I honestly think hindering the riders with the ride watch rules are bad. We know it'll be an easy battle if they can only win with that certain ride watch. At least show them seeking out legends for help with their memories intact, but not powers. Wasn't the uncle suppose to be plan as a character that knows everything about past riders? They want to sell quick toys, but I rather more veterans and alumni play roles like Ghost that are both good tribute and help push the series plot.

Let me explain myself a bit.

Decade isn't the best of the series that I've watched (Favs are still Kabuto, Wizard, Build and Decade in no order). But is the very first KR series that I started with, but the episode structure allows the series to introduce each KR series to me, and letting me "get the gist" of things to consider watching the original KR series after Decade.

The 3 episode structure of 1) exploring new world, getting situated 2) getting into deep poop 3) finding solution and getting rid of bad guy in a very strict and structured manner at the least helps with storytelling.

Zi-Oh tried to squeeze 3 episodes into 2 which has to heavily rely on existing viewers already knowing the previous KR series to get situated, and perhaps one thing brilliant about Decade is that they are not so hard up on getting original actors with their AR theory.

When Geitz busts out the Ghost Armor in the first episode my suspension of disbelief shattered. Maybe its because I've set my expectations too high (hell coming off from Build my expectations are high already), or maybe its because I thought they would pace it like Decade, so there's this dissonance and sense of getting jumbled up.

Sougo didn't help matters because for a guy who wants to be king, there's no kingly vibe about him. Even Tsukasa's arrogance gives his character flavor, even Kabuto's arrogance gives his character flavor.

Hell, even Os charisma can be felt in this alternative character portrayal, I still believe in him wanting to reach out to everybody. Hell even Naruto believes in being Hokage more than Sougo believes in being king.

And for all the crap people heap on Ghost, Ghost is still genuinely likeable. And I still believe in him when he says he wants his life to burn bright.

Maybe its just getting the actors to settle into their roles, and when they embody the role long enough they get better at it? I dunno. Geitz seems to at least act like he has gone through some character development even though at times his face is just permanently scrunched up.

My expectation wasnt high after build especially with the way writers retcon and rehash the father, fusion, and shouchi secret as well as vernage history in the later half. it wasnt bad, but not as good as the second and third quarter. Zio was straight to the point in e1, but it derail to a very formulic episode structure. Hardly any progress with ohma, time jackers, and the returning alumni are glorify cameos to sell extra gadget and secondary ride watches too.
We know time jackers aren't going to fight zio and the another rider candidate are hardly a pushover when they cram toys and cameos all in one. Also, Geiz is like a knock off Specter/Baron. Sure, they get beaten a lot, but they're actually very motivated to surpass and beat the main rider. Even birth have more ambition and accel/meteor got more resolution to fight. Geiz is just a I don't want to say tsundure, but it's kind of what vegeta is now in super. All talks, but little actions as well as a undying passion to befriend with zio in a way.
Anyway, I disliked ghost, but the ghost tribute was pretty well done. I would prefer makota appearing in present traveling through dimension making him immune like decade, but he was just there for a quick pose and one liner. Preview lies again like always.

Seems like I may be in the minority. But I'm enjoying Zi-O quite a bit so far.


Its cast and story aren't quite as good as Build or Ex-Aid's, but I'm having a blast so far. I absolutely loved that they had a 3-way Ghost fight and I love that they've not only given Tsukasa a fair bit of plot significance (as they rightfully should), but also that he seems to be somewhat of a wildcard. Hope he continues to be a recurring character throughout the series, but even what they've given him so far is more than what most of the alumni have gotten so far.

And hell yeah I'm excited to finally have Sougo encounter Oma Zi-O. A thought did occur to me that maybe, just maybe, Uncle ends up being Oma Zi-O? Not sure how exactly he would get there, but I get the vibe that he knows a lot more than what he's letting on. This ongoing gag of him being completely out of the loop with everything that's going on with our main heroes could come back in a huge way. Plus his obsession with clocks is a bit too on the nose...

Sidenote: I love that Tsukasa is the one to finally interrupt Woz's speeches.

Still hate that Geiz has no character

Didn't know Zi-O was so unpopular here.

Been enjoy everything coming out of it so far. Making Tsukasa a recurring foil for Sougo, and the reasoning being that Decade is in essence the natural counter to Zi-O, was a brilliant move and one I was personally hoping for. The 3-way fight between Geiz Ghost Armor, Another Ghost and Decade in Ghost form and how they summoned their own luminaries to fight alongside them was great. Also loved their attempt at messing with the creation of Another Ghost in order to help Takeru's client.

You keep repeating this. We get it.

Zi-O has been good at keeping the tribute characters in character and capturing the feel of the shows it tributes, but has just not been that good at showcasing the past riders fighting abilities till this episode. Decade was the reverse the problem were it was great at capturing the past riders fighting abilities, but horrible at doing a tribute to anything else relating to the past series barring a couple cute references here and there. Zi-O really has improved from it's rather rocky start.

I still can't decide whether I love or hate the Decade Ride Armour. All I do know is that I have strong feelings about it, and that the Heiseiber's sounds are going to be stuck in my head for a while.

Decade overshadowed this arc, and it was a Ghost tribute.

Still, Takeru's time was great here and a shame the other actors couldn't join to have a complete reunion. But Makoto's cameo was fine.

Decade's armor is so butt ugly!

So, Zi-O's continuing on a hot streak, isn't it? From Takeru's characterisation and decent handling of his role in the plot, to Tsukasa being his usual self, even Makoto doing his usual thing and running in out of nowhere to help out, this was another good one. I'll agree with what other have said - Decade Armour is probably the weakest debut of a "First Quarter Power Up" in a while, especially compared to Sparkling last year (or even Ghost Toucan Damashii, tbf) but it works nicely, and I get the feeling, with Decade sticking around, it might get a little more focus. Nothing certain, just a hunch.

Takers still did more than most riders even the glorify Kouta cameo. If you look at the grand scheme of things, ziku drivers were created to steal powers and change history. It's like a paradox with time jackers and ride watches to exist in 2018 for ohma to be created. Woz clearly wants to sped up the collecting gimmicks. I guess decade was suppose to be the last one in history to give up his ride watch, but looks like it will create a massive toll in history itself. I could take a guess that ohma zio will be deleted and never hear from again until the end with woz taking the front stage finally. The time jackers honestly could become future riders depending on how the script goes. They're main abilities are like clock up. It could be considering how they're rider gadget gimmick watches and tribute time majins.

I think this was a pretty good episode, but I'm very bugged that they used Gratefull tamashii rather than Boost

I think the reason they used it is because Boost wouldn't look right with the Decade Armor, in that they'd only have to use the Transient since I doubt they'd be able to easily work the jacket part under the Decade Armor. Grateful works because it never had a coat.

I actually enjoyed this two parter, even though Makoto didn't get a lot of screen time and there were a few plot niggles too. I didn't really like Takeru in his own show, but he was good in this one.
Next week should be a turning point for Soguo.

P.S. I wonder what Sworz personal Time Mazine is, Wizard's WizarDragon or maybe Faiz's Auto Vajin.

I honestly like the Decade armor, just as silly as Decade Complete XD

The sound effects are the best part though, they will be hard to get out of my head.

If only the rider armors were well designed. All the armors are ugly.

Well, it's definitely NOT time for me to pass up the chance for another Ghost-related screencap. Better luck next week, Tsukasa!

This episode was pretty great. The Gaim and Wizard episodes still excelled more in certain areas (and are still my favorites so far), but this arc was probably the most overall solid Zi-O has had thus far. Decade's arrival adds all kinds of intrigue to the plot, the Legend Rider stuff was handled so well it's almost inexplicable, and they pulled off balancing both those elements so neither one overshadows the other.

There are a few nitpicks I have though. Mostly very minor things that, at least according to Sento, I shouldn't be worried about, but still. The thing that bothered me most was definitely Takeru explaining he can see Sougo because he has the Ghost Ridewatch, which raises questions about why Geiz can't. Then there's the bits of writing that just seem a bit... off, like Makoto showing up abruptly, which would be something that bothered me... if it were anyone but Makoto. That guy's such a bro it honestly seems plausible to me that he just has some kind of sixth sense to show up whenever Takeru needs help. :lol

Needless to say, I expect a few hiccups like that in any given episode of Zi-O at this point, so none of it is enough to ruin the episode, which was, as usual, extremely fun.

Really liked the episode. Didn't get a chance to watch it until now.

How it expands on Tsukasa's abilities was neat too. His photo travel ability makes sense in that way. Because a photo is a snapshot of both a place AND time. So while in his own series we mostly only saw the "place" side of that with his other world traveling, it does make sense to expand the time side of that here. Which his multiversal nature explains how he stays around too without saying it.

Loved the parsing to Ghost coming back with the interruption in when the another rider came into existence.

Interesting how they categorize Rabbit Tank Sparkling as a final form, but again that likely goes to rule 3, and any 'extra enhanced form' counts as that. So for Rabbit Tank Build, that would be Sparkling as well as Rabbit Rabbit and Tank tank. But also I really wouldn't take any "final form" statements seriously here overall as definitive to each series' final forms. It's entirely a rule 3 thing from the 2.5 episode. But it does go to show that "final forms" aren't exclusive to only 1 per series.

Was cool to see Cross-Z's ride watch used. Which goes back to that emphasis that Toei has a tendency to use all material they can that has a toy in show somehow. Very rare they don't anyway.

Next week seems really interesting too(well today's). Sougo going to the future to see his future self, could greatly impact the timeline because of that. Which will be interesting to see how they handle that, as well as Tsukasa likely coming along in the journey somehow. So we may seem some massive timeline upheavals to come soon. Diving more into that sub-tone of forging one's own destiny by their own hand. And how only Sougo can change who he himself becomes.

Really liking how this show is developing out more and more. A lot of great material, and growth, as well as little side fun bits and grander nods, while also being very subdued and true to the character dynamics needed for a story like this.

He really doesn't need some kind of hackneyed mystical origin. The more 'every person' approach works better. He's already "destined to be king" from the time travel element alone. Anything more than that would take away from that aspect of how he's a normal person that uses his brains and learns as he grows. The fact it's a gag to others in the present day, yet he still succeeds to do it in the future is very poignant to the narrative and themes of pursuing dreams even if others think they are laughable, because you won't succeed in those dreams unless you try. But in this instance, it also boils down to what kind of king will he become, and learning to grow to keep himself in checked especially after seeing what the effects are of it left unchecked. To prevent himself from becoming that, especially once he witnesses it first hand... (With another OOOs as a foreshadowing of that to come, which is episode 15 now for that foreshadowing to come to fruition.)

In regards to the Ghost watch Geiz had not giving him that ability, could it be a plot related one ? Maybe the watches slowly become weaker over time or are drained of power by Oma Zi-O in order for him to gain the power he has in the future ?

Would explain why neither he nor Woz had any interest in taking the Ghost and Drive watches back.

A waste of specter. I hate when they tease these in the trailers. If they want people to be hype then do that and not take the lazy route that's underwhelmingly Rick roll us. It would be cool if makoto is unaffected in the prsent and ghost remembers his past temporary until the battle is over then we take makoto off his memory too. Well, this might cause some writing problem, but as loose as how another riders work with their conscious sentient mind as well as how tribute episodes work, it's a mess already.

I think it might be more he doesn't know how to use it. Whereas Geiz has had a long time to see it in action. So it could become one of those things where it's time travel cyclical, he learns how to use the ghosts in it by Geiz, who learned it from Oma who originally learned it from Geiz. So they needed Geiz to steal the watches to show his younger self.

I don't think Woz or Oma are concerned by it, because they know the timeline as it was and where Geiz originally ended. But now that's changed. Though it was interesting to see how the watches can be drained of their rider essence. Or in this case, exorcised of the rider spirit. xD Tsukasa is a world destroyer though.

Though another thing I found interesting here. Because of Tsukasa's belt, I wonder if he can beat Another Riders with the same rider power and it'd count to break the watch and drain it. Seems like it.

Though was also interesting to see how the Time Jackers have more mastery of various rider era power too, and fully know how to channel it more than the various another riders. Which makes sense how Kuroto would too in regards of ambition. So that doesn't seem so much as 'random power up' but more towards how other another riders never realized they could do that.

Which Geiz with the ghost watch shows that potentially 'armor watches' might be able to do more too. The Ghost spirits seems rather like an equal point of what another watches do with pulling monsters from a series. So maybe Ride Watches can pull more from the respective rider series than they realize yet. Like how the Heisaber highlights this too in being able to pull more out of decade's power to use all riders.

I just hope Decade and Woz stay as a team for a bit, Decade questioning Woz weird habits is funny as heck.

Really liked this one. I'm again appreciating how much Takeru was involved in the plot. I really hope that other, better Riders get the chance to integrate as effectively in the future. Tsukasa was also pretty great, though, so it's nice that he'll be sticking around for at least a little while longer.

Oh, and the actual cast of the show was there, too.

In other observations, the Heisaber is possibly the most brilliantly stupid name for a tokusatsu weapon ever.

I finally caught up on Zi-O again and honestly I loved this episode. Takeru going "Right?" When Sougo talked about ghosts not needing food was pretty funny too

Honestly, Takeru was 10 times more likable in this 2-parter than in his own series.
