Looks like a solid 2D fighters ala Arc System Works or Capcom. I'd like to see what the base roster is but I can see myself picking this up.

Considering the gameplay stream yeah I am absolutely buying this, looks to be a damn good game

Yeah this is looking a thousand times better than I initially thought. I'm more than a little frustrated by the pre-order bonus and DLC shenanigans and I really wish they'd communicate stuff better (are the Drakkon V2 and MMPR Pink skins part of the season pass or exclusive to the collector's bundle? Where's the pre-orders for regions outside of America? What's the pricing for those regions?), but the game itself is looking super fun and I'm gonna try and get it. Hoping to see an RPM ranger in there :D

The deluxe edition comes with a character pass. There's going to be more characters. Gotta remember this isn't Legacy Wars. Characters in this are way more complex, and require a lot longer to make.

yeah i get that but we could at least have 12 characters base roster and maybe not have a generic mook as one of them, or at least have a good mook as a character

Before the character page updated with the 5 new fighters; there were MMPR Red, MMPR Green, Super Megaforce Yellow, Lord Drakkon and 11 blank slots. That implied to me that the base roster would be 15 and I still think so, though it's very odd that the update removed those blank slots.

15 would be the ideal, hopefully with the last 6 representing different seasons

Watching some of that gameplay stream made me... interested in getting this? It looks low budget, but it seems like it might actually be a pretty fun game.

Beast Morpher Red is my biggest prediction; if not in the main game then definitely as DLC. I'm super excited for that because I loved Go-Busters; Beast Morphers is looking like a great adaption; and holy heck between the motif and the glitchy stuff I would love to see how he fights

What do you mean 10? We've only seen 9, and we more than likely haven't seen the full roster yet.

there's an event in legacy wars going on rn that lets you play as the base roster, minus mastodon trooper. the last character is mmpr pink ranger kimberly

MMPR Pink is confirmed as a skin for the game rather than a separate character; more than likely as one for Ranger Slayer. That aside, Legacy Wars is likely just mimicking what's already known rather than saying "this is everything".

alright fair enough but 1. i somehow doubt they're going to reveal 6 characters in a month (though i guess they did do 5 characters already, i just don't want to get any hopes up) and 2. mastodon trooper is still a really bad pick for a playable character

They needn't reveal everyone before launch -- it's entirely possible there'll be characters that won't be officially revealed until we have it in our hands. I'm personally going to be relying on that 15 slots thing; seems pretty specific.

Tbf that's not exactly a good thing to do, it's telling that even Smash has learned that having hidden surprise characters in a game people buy FOR the characters isn't exactly worth doing anymore as the appeal for 'haha what a surprise' is lost after like 2 days

Never said it was a good business plan; just said it might be the case. Heck, the 'announcements' we got were very low-key. They just casually threw out the first four through a chart and didn't even mention Magna Defender.

My guess is either multiple characters confirmed at once or a delay because there's still no actual date beyond 'april 2019'. PC version's apparently releasing in the summer too

There's also the 'morph madness' event to consider. I'm betting they'd reveal the full roster on the date of its completion; 25 March. Or maybe a couple at each stage.

Oh right this, The people in charge of this deserve a slap for not putting Tommy VS Drakkon immediately because the finals will clearly be just Tommy VS Drakkon

Okay, the game is starting to look promising now.

It says the final starting roster so I assume it is. Remember though, it's a budget game that's 20 bucks so we shouldn't expect much. Although I completely understand disappointment

The gameplay looks super fun for a budget game, so I'm not too bothered. I just don't like the character choices. Drakkon and Ranger Slayer are cool to see, but Mastodon Sentries? SPD Kat over Shadow? No Zedd (Likely to be DLC, though)? No Billy?

It's just...For a franchise filled with so many iconic characters, it legitimately feels like they did their best to avoid them. Niche character choices are always fun for crossover fighting games, don't get me wrong. But when you're likely to have a roster of less than 15 characters, including DLC, you kind of end up walking a very narrow line.

Which articles? I'm not saying it's impossible but I can't find any official source stating that's the case.

I misread the articles, and it seems that the 15 character thing is the primary roster, not including DLC.
So there's still hope for the final six.
