Whar do you think the 50th Anniversary of Kamen Rider should be?
Next year is 2021 and it is going to be a big anniversary for the three big Toku shows. But most importantly, Kamen Rider is going to get the extra attention because it is going to be their 50th anniversary, and it would be weird for them to not pass that opportunity.
Because apparently according to sources during Reiwa the First Generation, they mentioned that Toei has a desire to move on from the past. Ideally they should, considering that crossovers have been done to death for more than 10 years, it would be grating. Not to mention that we just got a big tribute in the form of Zi-O, whether you love it or hate it. But come on, this is the 50th anniversary. Celebrating it's half century achievement! Honestly I want a crossover movie, but we all know that spring crossover movies are terrible even if some have efforts. Not to mention, the Kamen Rider 1 movie back in 2016 was kinda made to be Hiroshi Fujioka's last time reprising the role (for now). So I don't know, maybe we could actually have a standalone anniversary series, like Ultraman Orb did? Or maybe the 50th anniversary special is just another Den-O movie lol. |
With Zi-O was already a big crossover season, so I don't want another one. I would be down if they do something for Kamen Rider 1971 for the 50th anniversary. Like adapt the manga into an animated movie or OVA series.

I can't wait for Kamen Rider Fiveze.
The main show probably won't be anything particularly anniversary-like, but I'm expecting several special productions for the occasions. Anything from like, a special or even entire show in the vein of Amazons, or the usual Winter movie to go the Taisen route and cram in as many cameos as possible. |

I want them to have a 50th anniversary movie, but possibly have the Movie War creative team to do it, not the Taisen team (because even though they're technically the same, there's a clear difference in quality. Just compare directly Movie War Mega Max and Super Hero Taisen which came directly after it). I also have an idea about a show after Zero-One, is that we make a legacy show a la Ultraman Mebius and Ultraman Zero. Set it in the Showa universe, and have them focusing on Hongo's son/grandson. Hell, Sega just made Hiroshi Fujioka's son the new successor to Segata Sanshiro, they can do that here too! Although iirc Hongo can't have children because he's a cyborg and that's why they had Mayu Tachibana in that 2016 movie instead of Hongo's child. |
Shin: Kamen Rider the sequel, obviously.

Have every main Rider's actor return. Including the infamously difficult ones to get back.
Toei is a big company. They can afford it. |
Takeshi Hongou, Momotaros, Aruto and New Guy in: Forever Rider

Well technically they could still do that.... Through archive footage, the cheapest way. |

Maybe have a mini series of any of the Showa series in the same vein as Amazons.

You know that one time in Zi-O, during the Kabuto tribute, it faked everyone out with the beginning to Kabuto's intro only to go into Zi-O's?
It made me want them to do a shot for shot remake of every Kamen Rider intro, with the original songs, except replace it with that year's cast. So...Yeah. For the 50th, they should do that :lol |

I'm usually against continuations, but, what the hell, it's the 50th anniversary, I can break my own rule.
A year-long series of 10-15 minute shorts, each one a modern-day epilogue to a Rider show, featuring whoever the hell they can get from that show. (I haven't seen Zi-O, so I don't know if what I've just asked for is Zi-O. If it is, just skip this post and try to laugh too hard at me.) Like, do one for every show, one every other week. The World of Whatever Show, and it's whatever actors they can book talking about what's happened in the years since, and then a short fight with a monster and the Rider suit. No overarching story, nothing with that year's Rider, just little shorts for every series. I don't think it matters who you get. I wouldn't care if the OOO one is just Hina and Goto, if that's all you can get. A little story about them, what they've been up to, mention Eiji, then maybe cut to OOO fighting a monster somewhere. Play "Anything Goes!", we're out. Although, obviously, if you could get big names to come back, yes please. If you could do a relevant story that weaves in elements of the show, I would not complain. But I'd be totally fine with just another dozen minutes in the world of some of these shows, especially with the sense of This Is It for a lot of them, an unspoken promise that Toei is saying goodbye to these series and characters for a while. That's something that would feel like a good 50th Anniversary send-off to me. |
